'Sunset on Colonel By Lake' by Paula Formanek

Still jet lagged, but I started this one yesterday because I was in the mood to paint ðŸŽ¨ something big and different!

Based on a photo I took last summer, actually painted over an old flower painting I did a few years ago (which I did not like).

I will let this dry now and then see if it's done ... Oil with knives on canvas ... It will be called 'Sunset on Colonel By Lake' ...

"Hot Lands" by Lynda Cookson

I wonder, does anyone else see the days of the week in colour? I always have and somehow thought everyone else would too ... but it would seem not!

This is what I see when you say a day of the week to me:

Monday BLUE sometimes WHITE (mood related?)
Tuesday GREEN
Wednesday ORANGE
Thursday PURPLE
Friday A LIVELY BLUE GREY
Saturday CAMEL / BEIGE
Sunday YELLOW

Anyway, it feels like Sunday today, although it's Monday, so I'm choosing a yellowy abstract which makes me think of Sunday and my country of South Africa.

Blending with Happiness, by New York artist, Celeste Plowden

Out of a cool grey and blue mood comes a little magenta, peach and bright orange-red. I blended some of the colors, and melted them together, the way the happiness sneaks up on us after a mood of despair begins to drift away. 12x12 acrylic on gallery wrap canvas, UV varnish, sides painted, wired and ready to hang.
