Me and Doodle Pantry....

Hello everyone, so happy to see you stopping in!

Many of you that have visited in the past remember when I was on the Design Team for Doodle Pantry and how much I have always been a fan of Laurie's images. So I was thrilled when she asked me to Guest Design for the month of November.

I was so happy that I have created three cards for the release today of Laurie's new images for November!

My card above uses the new "Pineapple and Coconut" set. I used the outline and colored it myself with Spectrum Noir markers, I love coloring although I do wish I were much better at it.

I also used coconuts from the same set along with "Palm Tree" to create a fun look to this card.

I enjoy merging digital images to create something just a bit different from what it started out as, this is 3 of the color palm trees overlaid and resized to create a grove. I also printed them again and using my Cameo I traced and cut the palms so that I could pop them up with foam tape. Don't you love this sentiment that comes in the "Pineapple and Coconut" set?

I also made something with the new "Igloo Funset, so many cute images, sentiments and papers included in this one!

I am using each of the 3 elements from the set in this one, lol! What a fun card to cheer someone on this winter. I again printed the color image of the igloo and animals twice, cutting one of them to place atop the one that I printed directly on the design paper.

If you are new to Doodle Pantry or digital images in general I hope you will stop by the store and take a look at all of the inspiring creations by the rest of the team using this month's release and/or stop by at the DP Blog where you can see more cards using DP images and join in the challenge for this month(starts at noon today). Just for entering you will get the new release "Snowman Pileup" . There is also a free with purchase set from November 1-24 called "Vintage Fan" . Hope you have time to check it all out.

Hugs and Happy Day.....

Vintage Mo's

"Urchin with Bird" by Mo's Digital Pencil has long been a favorite of mine and as I said in yesterday's post I have finally purchased some of her lovely images.
Many of you know that I love vintage and what a wonderful surprise to find that was the theme at their challenge blog this week.

My layers of designer papers are from Prima with a tag by Studio 112 and Stampin' Up satin ribbon.
I used the peony and Labels 18 Spellbinders dies along with a Martha Stewart punch.
My coloring was with Spectrum Noir markers.

I had so much fun creating this card and can't wait to use some of the others that I purchased.

So Thankful 4 U....

Hello All, it is with mixed emotions that I make my post for today as it will be my last one as part of the design team at Sugar Creek Hollow where I have had the pleasure of designing for the past two years. I have loved working with some wonderful ladies and visiting with some very talented bloggers.
With that in mind, I created my card today with each of you in mind to thank you for all of your visits and kind words through out my term.

The challenge this week at SCH is to use Numbers and Letters and of course as always in a vintage shabby chic style.

Aren't these papers from  My Mind's Eye's paper pad "Bramble Rose" lovely? I layered one of these on black card stock on my green card base using some of the MME paper and the green to create an
awning....I used a Martha Stewart punch and then foam pads to create some dimension.
I hope you like the look of the Spellbinders Elegant post as much as I do. Using a definition from Stampin' Up's set "Define Life" and a small pink rose stamp I created my sign. The 4 and U are cut from Cuttlebug's Olivia set.

My card hopefully conveys to you the gratitude that I have for each of you!
I wish only the best for our challenge blog at Sugar Creek Hollow and hope you will continue to support and play along as I will from time to time. I am stepping down so that I can take a break for a bit from working on any design teams. I hope to play in a few more challenges and to get some projects accomplished around the house this spring.
Sugar Creek Hollow has and always will have a special spot in my heart.

We are welcoming three new team members and I hope you will give them a warm welcome.

They will offer some new inspiration and I look forward to seeing their work for SCH.

Along with me, the fabulous Heather Hudson is also stepping down but stayed tune for next week for a surprise with her....but you didn't hear anything here, lol.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend and only the best always.

Stamp It

Hello my friends, so happy you could stop by this morning to see what I am up to. I know that I haven't been posting as much and I am sure you can agree with me that there just seems to be not as many hours in the days lately...

Today I am showing you another of my tablets that I created using a plain lined notepad that I purchased at Walmart in a set and simply decorated around. This week at Sugar Creek Hollow we are going old school....you must stamp your card or project, no digitals ---just good old rubber or clear stamps!
And don't forget vintage or shabby chic style.

I used one of my favorite stamp sets by Stampin' Up "Elements of Style" along with the new poetry paper pack that I just purchased from them as well. I colored the flowers to go along with my paper using Spectrum Noir markers adding a bit of blue glitter to some of the centers. My binding was made using a piece of Kraft paper stamped with the flourish from the same set. I used designer dies from Clear Dollar Stamps for my sentiment with a sentiment and flower that I stamped from the same main image.

I hope this inspires you to get out some of your neglected stamps and give it a go......

Be sure and check out what my teammates at SCH have created to inspire you this week and take a look at the details of our challenge and then get your project in for a chance to win!

I would like to take the time to tell you that my dear friend Linda Payne is stepping down at SCH, girl we will miss your beautiful style and sweet encouragement! Her life is taking a hectic turn at the moment and she must devote herself to work and family. We wish you only the best and hope to work with you again in the near future. Love you gal....

I am off for some outdoors time with Rick today, hope you have a wonderful weekend planned as well.
Happy Day.....

Oh those Fabulous Flourishes....

Happy Day my friends, hope you are starting out on a wonderful weekend!
It is suppose to be warm and lovely here for us and hopefully for your part of the world as well.
Welcome to our challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow
If you are not familiar with SCH, we are a vintage/shabby chic themed challenge blog and this week's
challenge is "Fabulous Flourishes", either stamped, in jewels, die cuts or whatever your
imagination comes up with.
Our team looks forward to seeing your creativity this week.

For my card I decided to create one for Mother's Day since it will be here shortly.
I love yellows and grays as a color combo and using various ribbons and lace I layered them,
added flourishes cut from the smokey gray card stock, Want 2 Scrap gems and stamps from both
Stampin' Up and Verve.

I thank you for your sweet comments and visits, I know I have been absent quite a bit more than
usual lately but life has been extremely busy. Doesn't mean that I don't still love you though!
I hope to be by soon to visit.

Please take a moment to stop by the Sugar Creek Hollow blog for more inspiration and then please come back with your entry.

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes

Do you love A Day For Daisies images as much as I do? Then  you will want to join us this week
at Sugar Creek Hollow where they are sponsoring us this week. Tammy creates beautiful images that will spark your creativity no matter what your tastes. As for the team this week we all chose
an image for our theme: fairy tales and nursery rhymes done in vintage/shabby chic style.
I chose the image Magical Wood . Can't you just see Snow White or Red Riding Hood slipping through those woods? Do you watch the show on ABC "Once Upon a Time"? I am such a fan and love all of the stories. Snow White and Prince Charming....

I used Simple Stories paper for my base layer along with a tree and leaves cut with the Cameo. I added some punched flowers with gems, Spellbinders fence and fleur de lis dies, lace flowers, silk ribbon and the gorgeous image colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

I hope you will visit A Day For Daisies and check out their gorgeous site and hopefully
join us this week at Sugar Creek Hollow.
Have a beautiful weekend!

An Altered State

It's the first Saturday of Spring and we have a forecast of a wintry mix for tomorrow....oh my! But today is sunny and warm so I will enjoy that. Welcome to this week at Sugar Creek Hollow where we want you to alter something in a vintage/shabby style.

I found this frame at a  local thrift store for a dollar and decided to see what I could create. I used some paint to cover the unfinished wood part before stamping and distressing. My panel was created in the My Digital Studio software using various elements. I love the script background paper and the way using drop shadows makes the elements appear to be on different levels. I added a couple of real brads, lace, a key and pin.

The blues and browns are the colors that I used in our guest room so this works perfectly as an added
piece of decor. The blue gloves are my late Mother in laws and the lace runner was crocheted by Rick's great grandmother.

Here is a peek at my room.

Hope you can stop by at Sugar Creek Hollow and join us this week for this fun challenge.
This week we are joined by our Guest Designer Sandra Mathis whose blog is Sandy's Stamping Scene . Be sure to check out her lovely card and stop by for a peek at her beautiful work.

Happy Weekend!

Sweet Season....

Don't you just love the wonderful season coming?
Spring with it's promise of renewal and the celebration of our sweet Savior and His promise of everlasting life!

I know that I do and saying such, loved this week's challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow -"Vintage Easter". We are looking for a card or project celebrating Easter
in a vintage/shabby chic style.

The random winner will receive a badge and digi of our choice and the person
chosen as our Top Pick of the week will have a chance at a
Guest Designer spot with the team.

My card uses a lovely image that I received a good while back from Magic Moonlight Free Images , isn't she lovely?
For inspiration I decided to join my old (and that means previous, lol) design team mates at Sweet Sketch Wednesday using this week's sketch.

My papers are all from the K and Co McKenna paper pad along with card stock from Stampin' Up.
My trims are from a local fabric outlet with the old olive ribbon from SU.

I am also playing in the following challenges:
Polka Doodle  Week 11 Easter
  QKR Stampede  Dreaming of Spring
The Sweet Pea Stampers  Spring Colors

Looks like everyone is ready for Spring.
Please stop by at Sugar Creek Hollow and see our cards and then get yours entered for a chance to win this week.
Hope you are getting ready for a wonderful weekend,
thanks so much for stopping by to visit.

Photo Inspiration at Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday!
This week at Sugar Creek Hollow  we have a photo for your inspiration and ask you to find something
in it to inspire you and create something in a vintage/shabby chic style telling us in your post how you found inspiration from the picture.

Photo for Inspiration

I love the purple colors, vase and ruffles of the flower, so I immediately thought of the "peonies in a vase" image from Beccy's Place which I colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I printed two of these, hand cutting a couple of the flowers which I placed on foam dots for some dimension.
I embossed the background piece, distressed it and sponged on Milled Lavender distress ink, adding
some of that gorgeous floral lace trim from a local fabric outlet.

I also used a single peony image from Beccy's Place for the inside.

For a chance to win a digital image from us this week, stop by at SCH for all the details, some inspiration from my teammates and get started on your card.
We hope to see you!

Happy Day all, I am off to a shooting tournament, so I will see you soon.
Hugs.....

"Lovely Lace" and Sugar Creek Hollow

Hope you are having a wonderful start to your weekend and welcome to the "Lovely Lace" challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow where our theme asks you to use lace, either fabric or crochet and of course in a vintage/shabby chic style.
I was looking at one of Heather Hudson's (my teammate) videos on her YouTube channel where she
created a paper bag journal and it inspired me to create a paper pad notebook that I had been
thinking of trying for a while. You will want to check out her channel as she has lots of great tips
in her videos.
I used Stampin' Up card stock to form my base, measuring it to fit my pad with a 3/8" score for my edge. K and Co. creates some of my favorite papers which I used on this along with river rock card stock as one of my labels layers and 3D die cuts also by K and Co.
My fabric lace is from a vintage (or is 1980 not vintage age yet??? sure feels like it) wedding
dress and veil which I cut the lace and tulle from to create my flower and trim.
I have several pictures showing the stamps I also added to the front and the
gorgeous glassine bag I used on the inside for notes, receipts or other treasures.

I hope you will stop by at SCH and take a look at all of the lacy goodness by my sweet
teammates and get your card entered for a chance at a digital image by Cec or a chance to
be a guest designer. We would love to see your work.
