Shadow Shot Sunday ~ winter

Winter Sunset, February 2014

I shared this photo on Facebook and got quite a few comments and 'likes' so I thought I'd re-purpose it today as a shadow shot.

And to continue the wintry theme, a snowy shot from this week:

Sun and shade in the backyard

Brrr.....

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ sculpture and snow

I spotted this yesterday as I was leaving a company headquarters that I visited for a story for my job.
I'm not sure what it is, other than an interesting piece of art.

Any ideas?

We're expecting another snowstorm today here in Connecticut ...off to the grocery store (of course).

Hope you have a great weekend, snowy or not!

Stopping by to say ...

Just a dusting of sn*w overnight. Best Valentine's Day gift ever. ♥

Now I'm re-posting my Facebook statuses. Getting lazy here. ;-)

Birthday was a snow day, but that's OK

It's always good to warm up before you blow out your candles. Cameron caught me in mid-warmup.

We almost did a do-over, but it is what it is.

Cameron and Ralph made us a delicious birthday dinner. We appreciate all their planning and hard work!

Shadow Shot Sunday

Since we are expecting snow to fall later today I thought I'd re-post an oldie but goodie I captured a few winters ago.

I love gnomes! It says Gnome for the Holidays on the bottom of the ornament.

I also love snow people!

Wishing a Happy New Year 2013 to all ~ May this year be your best ever.

November 7 storm ~ and so it begins

Thursday morning in our backyard.
Oh look! Icicles. How fun.

Everyone is posting snow photos on Facebook this morning...I thought I'd be different and post mine here.
Wednesday evening at our house.

I have more, but you get the idea.

That 4-letter word that begins with S - it's back

It's not *flurrying* as I had hoped...it's snowing.

I really don't want to listen to the forecast. I want to hide somewhere in the blogosphere but I have too much stuff to do. Boo hoo.

Other than that, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Sunday morning shadows

Living up to my moniker (Late Bloomer Boomer) I am late in finding and posting shadows for this week. I just took these shots outside the front door this morning. The sun is shining brightly after yesterday's snowstorm.

Our friend 'Jack' made it through the night

He looks a bit cold though!

Hope everyone weathered the snowstorm OK.

We're so thankful we didn't lose electricity.

Happy Sunday to all!

Jack gets some air

Our friend Jack that I carved last Saturday was getting all moldy so I thought I'd let him go outside to get some cold, crisp air.

Doesn't it look like he's exhaling?

Shadow Shot Sunday * snowy *

We had a blizzard here last Sunday and Monday. Here's a photo I took as our Allegra was looking for photos Monday once the snow had stopped.
I was lucky enough to catch a shadow on the snow.

You can see lots more shadowy pix at Hey Harriet, hosted by our awesome Aussie friend Tracy.
I wish a Happy and Healthy 2011 to all my blogging friends!

~ Ruby Tuesday ~

"Look at all that snow! I hope it doesn't ruin my naturally curly hair."

You can see lots more photos featuring the color red at Mary T's Ruby Tuesday meme at her Work of the Poet blog.

Happy Ruby Tuesday and Happy New Year!

Looking at the Sky on Friday

And it really is Friday. And it really is s*n*o*w*i*n*g, again. I snapped these photos this morning out the front door.

Since it was so white out there, I thought I'd make one of the pictures B&W.

Go see many more photos of the sky by visiting our hostess, Tisha, that CrAzY Working Mom. And have a great weekend!

Looking at the Sky on Friday

I snapped this late Wednesday afternoon as I was on the way to the Post Office. This is the church where Ralph and I exchanged our vows. Although we don't attend this church, we do live about a mile away. The church is smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

I used some 'edge blur' to be a bit artsy here.

I urge you to go see many more sky photos by visiting Tisha, our meme hostess.

Snowy morning

Snow pictures again ~ taken through the window.

I was happy this morning when I saw online that there were no school cancellations or delayed openings. Then Ralph said, "Isn't it school vacation week?" Ugh. I can't keep up!

I have to go out. I hope the roads are plowed. They seem to take their time when school is not in session.

Sepia scenes

I snapped this through the windshield Sunday as Ralph was stopped at a light. I squinted and realized that it was a cow across from the shopping center parking lot. And is that a donkey?

The snow was dirty so I thought I'd conceal it a bit by using sepia. To see many more sepia photos, visit Mary T, our hostess, at Sepia Scenes.

Reflecting on snow, the van, and Linus

I took this after last week's snowfall...apparently we have another one headed our way tonight. Not fun any more!

I like how I captured Ralph's van in the window reflection, when all I was trying to do was get a picture of Linus looking out at the snow.

Happy President's Day to all, even if you don't have the day off from work! I liked it better when we celebrated both Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's Birthday. But that was a few decades ago. I must be getting old..

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ snow and Valentines

I call this "After the Shoveling."

This was the first photo I posted when I started blogging in 2007.
Of course that was before Shadow Shot Sunday, and before I even knew about the fun to be had with photo memes.

I call this "Valentine Bouquet from Ralph."

To see lots of interesting shadows from all over the world, visit our hostess, Tracy, at Hey Harriet.

Scenery after the snow

Happy winter!
I took these photos from inside shortly after 8 a.m. - we didn't get the tremendous amount of snow that had been predicted, but that's OK with me.

I took some sky photos too, which I'll post for Tisha's Looking at the Sky on Friday meme.
