Let's Do The Conga !

Ching sent me this exclusive invitation to join the Conga Line.

Basically when you receive an invitation to join you add the image as a sidebar picture widget and then link the image to the one person who's blog you want to be next in line.

Rules:
- You can only join the line if you are invited
- You can only pass it on to one person
- Lets make the longest conga line in the world!! (wouldn't it be cool if it went all over the world and back??)
- Make sure you follow through until the person you invite has added it to their blog otherwise the chain will be broken and it won't work
- If you receive an invitation and don't want to be in the line then kindly let the person know who sent it to you so they can invite someone else. We are really excited to see where this will end up!

I'll forward this exclusive invitation to Marissa!!!

The 6th

Nina tagged me.

I was asked to do the following:

1. Navigate to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.

2. Then post it on your blog with an explanation of the story behind the picture.

3. Tag 6 other people to do the same, and make sure you let them know about it.

Here's that almost forgotten photo:

This photo was taken at the US Embassy on February 16, 2005. From left to right - my friend Yasmin Lao, former US Ambassador Francis Ricciardone, former Philipine President Cory Aquino and Jose Torres, author of "Into the Mountain: Hostaged by the Abu Sayyaf." Yas was conferred the Benigno S. Aquino Fellowship Award for public service by the US government and I was so proud to have witnessed that. Yas founded the Al -Mujadilah Development Foundation which was a grantee of F-Foundation where I was Grants Administrator for almost 13 years.

I'll have to skip the last step as I am having problems with my keyboard. If you are so inclined, play the game and consider yourself tagged.

Fabulous Addictions

First of all, I would like to thank Nina for this award. Thanks, friend.

And I received this award from Donna (thanks, D.)

She asked me to mention FIVE addictions and pass the award on to FIVE other fabulous blogs.

I am currently, as I breathe here and write, addicted to:
1) The Legend of Zelda The Phantom Menace (I can't scrap until I finish the game...grrrr....)
2) Chicken Biryani (so much so that I've actually searched for recipes online and am thinking of cooking it. Me? Cook? Yup. I've got it really bad.)
3) Twilight (still). Although not as bad as my son Diego who has downloaded photos and songs into his Nintendo DS, and is learning to play Bella's Lullaby on the piano.
4) American Idol now that Season 8 is on.
5) And last but not least, I will always and forever be addicted to chocolates. That is why I will never agree to be a vampire even if Edward Cullen begs me. I love human food too much. LOL.

I am awarding the above-mentioned awards to:
Manang Marissa
Diane
Marix
Jenn
Ching

Sending you some love, girls. Be well. And I hope you take the time to pass the awards on.

Tagged Twice

Thank you Nina and Alby for the tags!

The Rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you: Nina and Alby
2. Post the rules on your blog (this is what you are now reading).
3. List 6 random things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up!

Here are six random things about me:
1) My DS is watching "Back to Bataan" (starring John Wayne and Anthony Quinn) right now, and I can't help but flinch over the dialogues. One of the pivotal characters in the movie is supposedly Andres Bonifacio's grandson, Andres Bonifacio. I had to wake DH up to ask him incredulously, "Bonifacio had a grandson???"
2) I am about to finish the last book in the Twilight Series. I started last Sunday. Yes, I am a fast reader if nothing distracts me.
3) Next on my to-read list is The Kite Runner. DH and I loved the movie version.
4) I bought walnuts and chocolate this afternoon as I plan to bake cookies and cupcakes this weekend.
5)I hope to scrap two layouts this weekend.
6) It is 1:47 am now and I really should go back to Breaking Dawn before dawn breaks. Har-har-har.

The six people I'm tagging are: Au, Cabbie, Nita, Sym, Liezl, Cosette.

Tag Time

Cabbie tagged me.

Here are the rules I’m supposed to follow.

1. Link back to the person that tagged you. (Done!)
2. Post these rules on your blog. (If you're reading this then I must have done something right.)
3. Share six unimportant things about yourself. (Nothing is ever unimportant about me. Hehehe.)

a. i sent out a message to the universe that i'm ready to work again and the universe is responding. (sweet!)
b. instead of attending scrapfest 5, i'm bringing my kids to manila ocean park tomorrow. on free tickets. (yeah!)
c. it's 10 pm and i haven't had dinner yet (not cool!)
d. dh got upset with me this afternoon. (not my fault!)
e. i missed most of this season's American Idol (and i survived)
f. i think these tags were invented by people who need back links to their blogs (LOL!)

4. Tag six people at the end of your entry. Next...

I am tagging Jenn, CH, Nita, Marissa, Cosette and Issa.

Hey, Einstein!

The blog readability test has spoken. This is the level of education you must have to understand my blog.

cash advance

Kidding! LOL. Based on the actual test result, one only needs a high school education to be able to understand my ramblings. Which is good, because I want more people to understand what I write. What does blogging matter if I am so high falutin no one gets it. Hehehe.

BTW, I think this so-called test runs only your blog address through whatever criteria the purveyors have set. It is highly doubtful that in the few seconds it takes to get the result that a comprehensive analysis of your blog's content is made.

So, really, this is just for fun. Don't take it seriously. You really don't have to be a freakin' genius to read The Armchair Scrapper. LOL.

Very interesting to see ‘who’ your friends are!

(10-16 points) You are Garfield :
You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You always know what you are doing and you are always in control of your life. Others may not see things as you do, but that doesn’t mean that you always have to do what is right. Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you or others.

(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:
You are fun, you are very cool and popular. You always know what’s in and you are never are out of style You are good at knowing how to satisfy everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few days more than once but you always come home with the family values that you learned Being married and having children are important to you, but only after you have had your share of fun times.

(24-28 points) You are Elmo:
You have lots of friends and you are also popular, always willing to give advice and help out a person in need. You are very optimistic and you always see the bright side of things. Some good advice: try not to be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many conflicts in
your life.

(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants:
You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best friend that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose. You never cause harm to anyone and they would never not understand your feelings. Life is a journey, it’s funny and calm for the most part. Stay away from traitors and jealous people, and you will be stress free.

(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:
You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you are also very serious about all relationships. You are a family person. You call your Mom every Sunday. You have many friends and may occasionally forget a few Birthdays. Don’t let your passion confuse you with reality.

(44-50 points) You are Dexter:
You are smart and definitely a thinker… Every situation is fronted with a plan. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate very strong family principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a bad situation when it comes. Try to do less over thinking every once in a
while to spice things up a bit with spontaneity!

Wow! It's what the KiDS and I have always known -
I'm a GOOFY GOOBER YEAH!!!

I'm Fabulous! (Walang kokontra...)

Donna thinks I deserve this

because, in her words,
"I love her spunk and I love how her mind work. I admire her fabulous dedication in everything she does.. yes Mommy Lee that is how I see you! Mwuah!"

Still feeling down in the doldrums because of persistent cough and colds (more than a week already), this is a great picker-upper. Despite my red runny nose, dry lips and less than perfect bedroom voice, somebody, who is not related to me, thinks I AM FABULOUS. Hahaha!

Thank you very much, Donna. Here's to all the FABULOUS women out there!

Sharing Smiles

Cabbie said I make her smile. Well, she makes me smile, too, but I don't think she intends for me to tag her again. :-)

But lots of SMILES to go all around, so I am tagging Marix, Christine, Nina, Manang Marissa, Alby, Airees, Leirs, Nita and Jenn. You make me smile each time I see your works and everytime you leave a comment in my blog. :-)

I Thought Tags Were Only Attached to Layouts!

I have been tagged by Diane. Sorry for the delay in reply.

The Rules: “Each person posts the rules before their list, then they list 8 things about themselves. At the end of the post, that person tags and links to 8 other people and then visits those peoples’ sites and comments letting them know that they have been tagged, and to come read the post, so they know what they have to do.”

Eight more things about me, right here, right now.

1) In a few minutes, I will be rushing down to catch CSI New York on AXN.

2) I am constantly punishing myself browsing online stores for items I could not afford to buy right now. My DH teases me I should have discovered scrapbooking earlier when I was still earning $$$ and I had weekly pouches coming from NY.

3) I am preparing another wishlist for another college friend. Her parents are coming home next month. (What can I say, my friends love me even though wala akong hiya.)

4) I have several chocolate bars in a bag next to me and another one cooling in the ref downstairs. I'd probably be grabbing it before I plunk down in front of the TV.

5) I had to ask our new help (barely a week) to leave because I caught her stealing from us. The good news is my yaya who went on vacation last April texted today that she's coming back. (Yey for time to scrap.)

6) I just had the best homemade baked macaroni (real mozzarella cheese and turkey ham) I have ever tasted for dinner earlier. New and better recipe to try, thank you, Lizzie.

7) I have been a Krispy Kremes addict since I first tasted it in NH last 2000. I even accosted Lolit Solis in a restaurant once when I saw her with boxes of original glazed doughnuts. Whenever I visit the U.S., I make sure a stop at a KK store is in the itinerary. I am so glad that now I can easily have a Krispy Kreme whenever the craving strikes.

8) It is now 10:00 and I bet my show has started so I really have to rush downstairs. I did mention I'm a TV addict, right?

I tag YOU!

Tagged! Again!

Ria tagged me. Now if she could also have sent some creativity dust with the tag, that would have been most appreciated.

1. Food you hate - I don't like cooked vegetables, but I'll eat fresh salads anytime.
2. Fruits you hate - Chesa and chicco because they feel strange on the tongue.
3. Veggies that you hate - Okra. The first time I was forced to eat okra was at the house of a rich friend. I was shocked when they just served us steamed okra for dinner. But polite guest that I was, I forced the slimy veggie into my mouth and down my throat. When I got home, I thanked my parents for not forcing me to eat anything so disgusting even though we were not rich at all.
4. Celebrities or people that you hate - Ruffa Gutierrez and Richard Gomez, they just give me the creeps. What was it that Maurice Arcache said? "You can't buy class."
5. Event/Incident/Situation that you hate - Being forced to make speeches. I can write a mean speech but having to deliver it to a roomful of people is another matter entirely.
6. TV shows or movies that you hate - telenovelas that remake old Tagalog movies and nobelas from komiks. Really, can't our screenwriters be more original than rehashing old stories? Books turned to movies that don't live up to the book.
7. Type of music that you hate - Novelty songs that have no redeeming value like The Spaghetti Song, Boom-Tarat-Tarat-Tarat, etc. Even Yoyoy Villame's songs, silly as they may seem had some lessons in Philippine history and PE. Some of you may be too young to remember them. Hahaha.
8. Household chore that you hate - cooking. When I was young, I willingly did my siblings' laundry as long as I was exempted from cooking.
9. Things you hate about the world - why can't the world see things my way? :-)
10. Things you hate about yourself - that I am not the perfect Mom or perfect wife or the perfect scrapper. But don't worry, it's not everyday that happens.

Now I tag Manang Marissa, Cabbie, Nina, Nita, and Raissa.
