Beautiful Etiquette

Being raised by a socialite, etiquette always played a key roll in my life.  Knowing when and where to exercise the proper sentiments was a key part of my childhood training.  Fast forward 50 years and the world has changed dramatically from that once proper place my mother dreamed of. While many of us still try our darnedest to squeeze in those "pleases" and "thank yous" there are simply far too few of them these days.

Still I'm all about being the change and so you can often find my visual thank yous around the internet  ~ whether it's expressing gratitude to a social networking friend or leaving feedback for a purchase, I like prettying up the sentiment with my own whimsical imagery.

And so in keeping with this I thought it might be nice to start a new series of images that could be used in this manner. Whether you're looking to include a thank you at the bottom of your blog or just want to say "thanks for your friendship" on a social wall, these images will suit the situation nicely.  You'll find them included in an upcoming "Inspirational" category I have planned for the new website, but in the meantime you can grab some copies below.

PrL-Cupcake Thank You

PrL-Mermaid Thank You

PrL-Enchanted Thank You

Using the code below each image you can insert them at the bottom of your blog using this tutorial: http://plumroselane-tutorials.blogspot.com/2013/03/how-to-install-blog-badge-or-add-html.html  or by right clicking on the image you can save a copy to then post on a friend's wall like on Facebook.  Just remember to play nice ~ these images are subject to my terms of use and are not meant to be altered in any way.

Update: Originally created for the bottom of blogs and social sites, I've now included smaller versions below so these can be used in blog sidebar areas...

New Themes ~ Nuptials & Garden Party

With all the extra work I've been doing lately; revamping blog themes, keeping up on custom orders, and working on challenges, it's been a struggle to get in here and post as much as I should.  So I'm happy when I do have something completed and ready to place in the spotlight. Today I'm focusing on a couple of new themes I recently created ~ Nuptials and Garden Party.

Nuptials just kind of fell in place with it's soft hues boasting an elegant yet natural wedding theme.  I love this color combination, they blend so beautifully together ~ I can't help but think of a beautiful afternoon in the countryside with flowing white chiffon.  And it's nice to finally have an addition to stand along side my Cherish theme which up until now was the only marriage theme I offered.

Garden Party was a different story in that I've had this theme in my mind's eye for quite awhile now.  I knew I wanted to create a theme that set a stage for some enchanted yet cozy event, filled with whimsical elements and adorned with glowing lanterns.  I'm really please with how these sets cam out and I hope you enjoy them too.

You can view all of the elements for each set by clicking on the titles or images above.

Oops~

Don't you hate it when you make a mistake, I know I do?! And of course there's nothing worse than making one in public. *sigh* It seems my most recent mistake was while creating the Return to Oz theme I completely forgot about Mr. Scarecrow, sheesh! I mean really... poor guy, completely left out in the cold. And the irony is he's my favorite character ~ who doesn't love to "...while away the hours and consulting with flowers..."!? Funny story ~ that song used to pop into my head whenever I went through something in my last marriage, I'm not sure if I wished I had a brain or wished my ex did. I digress....

Anyhoo, for all of you who picked up a free copy of the Return to Oz banner, you can grab the newer version which now includes the Scarecrow. Just click on the title or image above to view the theme page ~ the banners are posted at the bottom. The free versions will be available under Sunday, August 5th.

Fertility ~ new blog themes

I know that has to seem like such a strange title for this posting but it's the first thing that came to mind when I thought about these two newest prefab themes ~ one related to Easter and the other to Mother's Day. The bottom line is I'm popping my head up from this crazy project load to let you know about my two newest prefab themes...

The first is titled Eastertide and it features a shabby chic/vintage feel in lovely color tones, just perfect for this time of year. The free background comes in 2 sizes and goes beautifully with the free set of sidebar tags.

Mother's Treasures

Next up is this new theme titled Mother's Treasures featuring a soft pastel palette with blues and pinks, fitting for any lovely mom on her special day.

There are two versions of the banner ~ one with a Mother's Day greeting and one without so this theme may also be used year-round. The set also features free background codes and a selection of three different sidebars tags so you can mix and match for added fun and personalization.

Also included with this set is the new "My Pinterest" button. At the moment this is the only set to possess this button but I do hope to have time to create updates for all my other sets in the near future.

You can view more about these new sets by clicking on the titles or examples above and I hope they bring some added joy to your springtime blogs~

New Backgrounds

"It's about time" always seem to be the first words that pop into my head when I begin to write a posting about a new theme or design elements. The truth is I have so many ideas swirling around in my brain it's overwhelming sometimes ~ there's the kitchen theme, the painters (artistic) theme, the old curio theme with dancing bottles, keys, and frogs, and the list goes on. Sadly I don't have such delectable delights for you today but I do have a new selection of basic backgrounds ~I know, I know... it's just not the same but hey, there are those out there who love them and use 'em and they're sort of like trying on a new sweater ~ you know, the pretty little ones with sparkling beads and embroidery that go with anything, who doesn't love one of those!?! ;-)

So to view the complete selection of my blog backgrounds simply click on any of the images above or follow this link. They will be permanently listed in the Just Backgrounds section of my site.

Sponsoring - Sugar Creek Hollow Weekly Challenge

I'm super excited to announce that I'm sponsoring the Sugar Creek Hollow blog challenge this week! Not long ago my sweet customer/friend Patti contacted me about sponsoring one of their weekly challenges and how could I say no? There was a big learning curve since I'd never participated in anything like this before. I put on my thinking cap and came up with something which I hope will be fun for everyone who participates and you're all invited to join in!

There's a selection of temporary freebies (normally for sale in my shop) which include a seasonal collage sheet and a few print-your-own cards so even if you have nothing more than paper, glue, and scissors you can join in, have some fun, and even enter to win the giveaway!

Here is a sampling of what the Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team members have made for this challenge...

So stop by Sugar Creek Hollow to get all the info and free download link ~ I can't wait to see what everyone creates!
