Puffy heart beads and "diamond-like" magnets?

Valentine's Day is around the corner!
Although Valentine's Day isn't a jewish holiday, it's still one of my favorite days and it's a good excuse to leave all the laundry/cooking/dishes (& kids) at home and show my love to my sweet other half that makes my artistic passion possible :)

Among the gifts given as a Valentine's Day gift, jewelry is the most common.
Why not make it ourselves? Handmade jewelry goes a step farther by being a gift that is truly from the heart.

I have been playing with ideas and came up with 2 new tutorials for the holiday. They can be used for Valentine's Day but not only! they are also great for any time of year and you will learn a new technique to use in your future projects!
The new heart themed tutorials make perfect gifts for the upcoming Valentine's day!

Wishing you a LOVEly day :)

New PolyPediaOnlineTV youtube videos

passover holiday was great! and i had time to play with my new camera, and made 2 short videos -

the 1st one is about warming & softening your clay and canes, i have some real old and stiff polymer clay canes and packages in my stock, some of them since 2007 and older, they are HARD!
I heard about all kind of methods to soften the clay - dipping in warm water, covering with liquid clay, warming your canes in the oven to soften them (yes! i heard that one too!), sitting on clay (not canes :) ) and decided to try my herbal microwave pillow as a "warming facility". I warmed the pillow and placed an old cane inside, and - voila! it was warm and soft!

It's really a great way to prepare your clay to work - instead of making your arms and palms do the job - let the warm pillow do it. I warm my pillow for 2 minutes in the microwave and place some packs inside it, wait for few minutes (while i am keeping an eye on what's inside not to heat it too much) and checking to see it they are soft. usually i don't need more than 5 minutes to soften your clay.
If you put raw clay, i would recommend wrapping it with a plastic bag, so the herbal pillow won't get stains, we can't wash in washing machine it if it's dirty. give it a try! it's great!

The 2nd video is about making polymer clay letters as decorations to a door or a book. i wanted to decorate my daughters' "heritage" book cover project with her name. Every child in Israel when arrives to the age of 13 has to do some invastigating about his heritage and family, the project is quite big and require some nice decoration to the wood book cover.
This project shows you how to make simple letters using cookie cutters, slices of canes and stripes sheet as a background. I know that the sound is a little bit low, sorry about that, but you can see from what i am doing what are the steps.

You can join my Youtube channel for updates on new video's coming up, it's so much fun!
The videos are available in polypediaonline.com site too - http://polypediaonline.com/133688/PolyPediaOnline-TV

Finally! My new Studio Gallery :)

Finally! My new Studio Gallery is ready :) After all the fixing, building, dust and mess, it's ready for me and my students!

The big things are back in place, tables, pasta machine :) and all my canes, boxes and beads, it's a good opportunity to throw some things (or maybe not, i might need it...) and arrange all the mess on my working table...

I still need a nice carpet and some photos on the wall, but that can wait a bit longer!
Did i mention that red is my favorite color?

After everything is back in place i felt like working and working, and i can't stop! beads, pillow, hearts, hamsa's, hangers, it's so much fun! You can find more on my Etsy

Heart pillow beads - these are addictive!

I've been sitting this past week and making these enjoying heart pillow beads, they are such fun to make!

I sit near my working table, with ALL my canes spread around: flowers, roses, stripes, spirals, faces, leaves, and i start thinking which color to choose, will i choose green? no, i just made those a month ago.... blue? mmm.... maybe next month. I think i'll choose romantic-turquoise with pink for the 1st set and orange-red-yellow for the 2nd set :)
Now it's time to get all things back in place, my table is such a mess!
If you like these, they are on ebay this week!
Thanks!

Pillow and Hearts

Lately i discovered the pillow'in beads, I've done some "regular" pillow beads long time ago but their shape is a little bit too ordinary for me, so using cookie cutters i shape my pillow beads in any way i like :)
Here are some purples and greens decorated with some of my favorite millefiori canes.

Oh, and they are on ebay this week (till 9/11)
