Pulp City KS in its Last 100 Hours! Don't Miss Out!

The Pulp City Kickstarter is in its last 100 hours and they are pulling out all the stops!
(click any image to view full size)

First up is a final sculpt of the new Powerhouse Amok for the Way of Fist and Blade faction.

Think he looks big? Check him out next to the other new Powerhouses and a normal sized Sister Bedlam mini.

The Pulp City team have also added a couple of things that several backers have been asking for over the course of the project.
How about some stunning Q Workshop Hero and Villain dice?

Another thing backers have wanted is the option to 'cherry pick' their own teams outside of the current unlocks and value packs. With this in mind they have added a FULL add-on list of EVERYTHING in the PC range!
You can find it >HERE<
The list includes some nice teasers for current and upcoming locked stretch goals like RoboChimp, SymbioGrimm, Lady in Red, Stygian in 2 forms, Mr.Kraken, Phalanx, Mecha Spartans and Scarab.

You may be thinking "Why should I pledge now and not wait for release?"
Well, what about the 4 awesome exclusives and limited editions?

John Grimmsham is a new lvl3 Leader for the Grimm and only available during the Kickstarter. He is included in every Supreme level pledge. The 'sweet spot' level that has gone from 7 to 19 models already!

Another Grimm exclusive is the 'Dragonfly' model as an added extra to the Grimminions pack.
No kickstarter is complete without a certain reference. Shiny!

The PC team are so pleased with the support shown for this project that they have offered up a special model.  The Herald! He has only been available before to those that promote Pulp City and go above and beyond in support of the game. Never for sale before and never for sale again!

Finally there is the rarest and most wanted PC mini of all time. The Red Baron!
I have seen this figure sell for over £100 on eBay before as only a few were ever made.
One will be included in each 'Collectors' pledge. $600 for over $1200 worth of goodies and the Baron!

What are you waiting for? Head over and check out the best 'supers' game on the market and don't miss out!
Even if you just pledge $1, it helps unlock more goodies for everyone.
The Pulp City Kickstarter is really going to be one to watch over these last couple of days.

The Pulp City Kickstarter is live ...... and its a MASSIVE success.

WIP of new book cover

As a lot of you know, I am  HUGE Pulp City fan and have been for quite a while.
How could I not be a fan of a game packed full of Super Heroes, Villains, Aliens, Robots, Monsters, Apes and more?
This meant that when the news came out about a PC Kickstarter, I was over the moon.

Now its here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The project started with a $10K goal and a 30 day time scale. But, the $10K was reached in under 2 hours of the KS going live!
Over the next few days they just hit stretch goal after stretch goal with several freebies and discounted paid add-ons being unlocked.
As I type this, the Pulp City Kickstarter is now just under a massive $60K with 22 days still to go.

Lets have a look at what is available in the 'sweet spot' Supreme pledge of $90 which started with 7 minis and the book only.

Now the 'Supreme' level has more than double the number of minis it started with, as well as more cards, Monster rules and more.
Plus IT'S GOT HOVER CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the above image you can see how well the models translate from artwork to sculpt with the side by side images of the Grimmsham KS Exclusive mini (He wil also be getting a non-exclusive sculpt after)

Below is one of the stretch goal unlocks. The level 3 Powerhouse, Soul Golem, for the Necroplane faction.
Work has already started on this and many other unlocks. Even with 3 weeks of the project left.

Grimmsham isnt the only exclusive mini. The new Grimm faction have a 5 model Minion packs that includes a bonus 'dragonfly' mini in woolen hat! After the KS the pack will still come with the other 4 models, but this little guy will be like 'a leaf on the wind'.

Not-Jayne isnt the only pop culture inspired mini. Recognize who this little Grimm has styled himself after? I hear he has a 'magnetic' personality as well.

After the Grimm stretch goals, the Kickstarter moved onto new Powerhouse Supremes for the current factions. Above you can see the Yeti for the Jade Cult (also a freelancer), LOA for the Coven and Tomcat for Heavy Metal

Once the Powerhouse models were available, it was time to fill out the Factions with some extra Supremes and even adding a new Faction selection or 2.
A few of these are MOD for Heavy Metal, Youngblood for Blood Watch, White Tiger for the (new) Way of Fist and Blade and maybe the greatest named Supreme ever, Ba-BOOM for ARC!

There are still several hidden goals and unlocks to come.
Head over to the PC Kickstarter Page and take a guess at what they might be.

New for Pulp City - Terror Cotta Warriors + The Green Emperor

Two new Supremes have been shown for Pulp City. The first is the Terror Cotta Warrior for the Jade Cult.
A high-tec robot disguised as an ancient statue. Sent into Pulp City via shipping containers by the Green Emperor where they wait to be activated when he needs them.

The Terror Cotta Warriors (TCWs) are Level 2 Tank Villains. They are different to other villains though as they are the first Supreme in the game you can take multiples of!
When fielding the Green Emperor in a Jade Cult team, you can take up to 3 of these nasty creations!
To help tell the difference between them, they have 3 different faces. A tech face, statue face and the underlying circuitry. (below)
They also come with an alternate spear arm. (not shown)

As with other Pulp City recent releases, they are VERY close to the original artwork.

The TCWs have an awesome, if a little gruesome, background story. Check it out >HERE<
They are due out this month as part of the new release schedule, 2 blisters a month, if all goes well along side the Green Emperor himself.

The Green Emperor is a Level 3 Leader Villain for the Jade Cult and a new threat to Pulp City itself.
A Dragon spirit that keep reliving an endless cycle, this incarnation has broken free!
I don't want to give away too much about him as the background is fantastic. You can read it >HERE<

Below are a side shot of the amazingly painted model and the original artwork to show just how close to the design the mini is.

What do you think of them?

The Green Emperors background mentions some other character like the Tiger, Phoenix and Queen Oni. Do you think these will appear in the game in the future?

The Pulp City Supreme Edition Open Beta is still running. Head over to the Pulp City Forums and let them know what you think of the new rules.

(Apologies for the spacing in this post. Something went wrong and I cant work out how to fix it!)

Pulp City is Invaded by Ninja Assassins! (updated)

The first of the Jade Cult Assassins has been posted up today on the Pulp City Facebook page. (Click pics to view larger)
A new type of Minion that can be taken with the other members of the Jade Cult, Heros including Crimson Oni and ,Im not certain on this last one, maybe Villains in general?
They come in pairs but the kits have a huge amount of options.
2 bodies, 4 heads and 4 weapon sets. Thats a whole lot of options.

A teaser image was posted a while back that shows a couple of the other parts.

I have also dug up the concept image that was on the PC fourm a while back. Not gratly detailed but I think the minis have captured the look, feel and movement perfectly.

I think these model look amazing. Very dynamic and wonderfuly detailed. Really looking forward to picking up a set or 2 for my Heros and Villains. Got some colour schemes in mind and I have even seen all the parts yet.
You will be able to take 1 card of them at a time, thats 2 minis, but when the Green Emporer is released he will be able to take alot more of them. A whole army of Ninjas? Yes please!

The Jade Cult Assassins are due out with the next wave of Pulp City Supremes and will be boxed with the Green Emporers daughter, the Green Serpent (shown below)
Over on the Pen and Lead Blog there is also a quick word from Morf, the head of Pulp City, on these models.

"… the batch of sculpts from James and I took them immediately to MaxMini for casting.
I got to say this is just one of my favorite batches: hyper dynamic (hey, it’s ninjas!) super sexy minis!

There are two ninja Supremes (male and female), multipart ninjas (2 body types, 8 weapons and arms, 4 heads – all very user friendly as they hold almost with no glue) and the Green Emperor who is just really menacing as he draws his sword.

But it’s not just villains – Heroes will be able to use ninjas as well, and all Hero players will be happy to see a whole new team building option that gives special bonuses if you build your team with the martial arts theme (yes, that means Chronin side by side with Chimp Chi)."

Sounds like the new models are going to give alot more options to all players. Really like the idea of a martial arts Hero team!

This is shaping up to be an amazing wave of releases for Pulp City.
With the above models there will also be Foxxy Blade, Crimson Oni, Doom Train, Night Fright, Tanuki and the Shadow Mask.

Is you want to find out more about these minis then head over to the PC Forum

 On a different topic,
If you are an email subscriber to this blog but this update hasnt arrived then please check out my last post >>HERE<<

Im off to work on some more city scenery.

A New Supers Mini Range Needs Your Help - Crossover Miniatures

Crossover Miniatures (link) are planning a stunning range of new Super Hero, Villain and Henchman models with several different heads. You can create the Super you have always wanted to!
But they need your help to get going. Thier Kickstarter project page asks people to pleadge a small amount bu the deadline in the middle of Jan. If the target has been hit by then, the project will be fully funded and you will recieve an amount of minis that depends on the amount you pledged.
If the target isnt met, nobody gets charged a penny and the minis never happen.

We dont want that to be the case!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will go over to the complete listing of the project now from Rusti -

Super Heroes you can modify?  Villains to suit your needs?  Henchmen built to fit you unique villain?  Let's make it happen!

What We are Going to Make for You

Our vision is to produce 8 Heroes/Villains with three head options apiece (for a total of 8 models and 24 different heads).  The heads will be generally universal to bodies of the same general size.  We also plan a unit of four henchman with three head options apiece, so that's three different types of henchmen from the same body.
A special treat for our kickstarter supporters will be the inclusion of all three heads for each model.  After the kickstarter is over, models will be sold with only one head option.

Eh?

We'd love to bring a fantastic new range of Super Hero miniatures to the public.  Many of those available today are the Intellectual Property of large companies.  We'd like to change that by sculpting and producing high quality Super Hero Miniatures that you can bring to life yourself.
Ever spent time looking for the perfect Super Villain but couldn't find exactly what you were looking for?  How about coming up with the perfect Super Hero but all you could find were different version of the big names in comic books?  Now is your chance to make this happen.
Old School Hero
One body, many heads, endless possibilities.
We are envisioning a range of modifiable Super Heroes, Villains and Henchmen to fill the voids found all over the comic universe.  When possible, our miniatures will have interchangeable heads so you can personalize them to your own tastes.  Think that hero would look better with a full face mask?  How about some wings on the side of his head?  What would he look like with an old school eye mask?
Super Soldier with Different Head Options

Henchmen Too

Our Henchmen will fit the bill as well.  First we'll create some universal bodies that will work will in many different situation, then we'll produce a number of different heads so you can create the perfect Henchmen for your Super Villains. Need hooded minions?  How about hard hats?  Masks and helmets? We are going to bring some flexible muscle to the table with these guys.
If we raise more money than our goal, expect more henchmen with the initial release and a slew of new heads.
Henchman with Good and Evil Head Options

Get Involved and Bring Your Desires to Life

To take this even further, our artist will collaborate with up to 9 lucky supporters to create a Hero or Villain from their imagination.
  • Benevolent Overlord - 3 supporters will work with us to create figures that will go into production.  You give us the concept and a few uniform pointers and our sculptor will create his interpretation of your instructions and one head option.  We'd like to make you as happy as possible, but we will retain some creative control on the final product.  Want total control? Go for Intergalactic Megalomaniacal Overlord.
  • Intergalactic Megalomaniacal Overlord - 6 supporters will communicate with the artist and receive his best interpretation of the instructions you send him and receive a One-Of-a-Kind miniature!  This could be a character you have envisioned years ago or any character you would like!  Our only requirements are that it's a 28-30mm figure roughly man sized.  Other than that, bring your imagination to life and get some fun stuff while you're doing it.  If you'd like to share your creation with the world, and we like your concept, we can talk about putting him into production and then you will receive 10 miniatures of your creation to hoard or share with friends.
Villains

Our Appeal to You

To show what is possible, we have created these three super hero/villain bodies and one henchman body with three heads apiece.  We need the help of the Kickstarter supporters to pay for the rest of the sculpting, producing molds, and the initial cost of the metal for the Kickstarter production run.

Hi there all,

Yesterday I received my 28mm City Block bundle from Sarissa Precision. And Its STUNNING!
Built it straight away.
After adding some Matchbox cars that my wife bought me and some sign posts from Fenris Games I had the start of a Pulp City board.

Layed out 2 Lvl 5 teams (I know they arnt painted yet, but undercoat is a good start for me) and a black base board for roads and I ended up with this...........

What do you think so far?

Right, time to run. Just spotted the badger sign in the sky.
