Bunny Hill BOM
Here's a sneak peek at the 4th Bunny Hill BOM block, for the month of April. My chocolate bunny looks almost good enough to eat, LOL!
And don't get me started on the too-cute-for-words chickie! LOL, What a cutie-pie! Click on the pic for a closer look at the block. Must do the hand and machine embroidery on this block and then it'll be time to do May's block. Will I get May's block done before June's block is posted? Wait and see, LOL! Until next time...

Buuny Hill Luck
I'm still trying to catch up with the Bunny Hill BOM blocks posted by Anne Sutton. Here's a sneak peek at the third block, for the month of March.
Don't you feel lucky just by looking at the shamrocks? LOL Some Irish magic I think! Click on the pic for a closer look. I have to finish the hand embroidery on this block soon. Until next time...

Quilt Show
Today I went to a quilt show with 2 friends (Y and P) that was about 40 minute drive from where we live. It was at a small stone church and church hall called Little Britain United Church. The place was filled to the brim with all kinds of quilts.
I love the coneflowers and how it was quilted.
Love the black and white tote bag. It was quilted with wavy lines.
This quilt was part of a round robin. Love the Canadiana theme :^)
The colours in this quilt are very striking! All those curves to piece, yikes!
I just liked this wallhanging.
Love the romantic feel of this quilt.
The quilter who made this sampler from classes taught at a local quilt shop. Pretty colours, makes me think of spring!

These quilts were hanging in the church hall which was nice and bright. Click on the pics for a closer look.
This quilt depicts scenes typically found in Manitoba.
This next quilt looks completely different up close and then far away. The secondary pattern that's formed is obvious from far away.
These next quilts were strewn on the pews of the church and also on the wall.

I love the stain glass window too.
Too bad the weather was icky; 1 C (34F) and snowing! It's supposed to be spring!!! The sunshine coming through the church windows would've made the quilts look even more beautiful. However it was a lovely setting for a quilt show. I'll be back next year! Until next time...

May Finish for Mother's Day
Last year when I started my blog I talked about some gifts I've made for my mum over the years for Mother's Day. I also posted some pics of the projects. Here's another one to add to the list, her gift for Mother's Day this year, which is on Sunday May 10th.
My mum studied Interior Design at the University of Manitoba in the mid 1940's. Her taste in furniture/decor leans toward clean lines with an Asian flair. That's my inspiration for this year's gift The quilt (14 inches square) is from a book called "Circles of the East" by Japanese quilter Kumiko Sudo. This book is full of quilts designs from ancient Japanese family crests. Each crest has a name and a write-up about it's history.
The book is full of wonderful photos and fascinating stories. If you ever come across this book you MUST have a look through it. The book was published in 1997 by The Quilt Digest Press. Until next time...

Reading
Lately I've been reading more than quilting. As a result no pics of projects to show :^(
I sulked all weekend because there was a quilt retreat from Friday afternoon until Monday afternoon and I couldn't go. Why? DH is away right now on his annual boys' week away and one of us has to be at home to watch over the house, the dog and, errr, ummmm, oh yeah, our teenaged kids. I did work on Feb, March and April blocks for the Buny Hill BOM yesterday, I hate being so far behind. I also have to finish the Mother's Day gift for my mum. I'll post a pic of it once it's done.
I just finished reading this book:
How awesome would it be if Elm Creek Quilt Camp existed? The concept is just wonderful. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the Elm Creek books I've read so far. If you want to read more about Jennifet Chiaverini and her books, click here.

Next up is this book:
It's called A Lie for a Lie by Emilie Richards, part of her Ministry is Murder series. This is the first one of her books that I've read. If you want to read more about Emilie, click here. Be sure to check out her BOM that she's doing in conjunction with designer Pat Sloan.
Thank you to all of you who commented on my Tulip wallhanging. I smile everytime I look at it. I thoroughly enjoy reading your comments, so keep 'em coming please!
