Double D Challenge: Heartfelt

Hi again!  It's Double D Challenge time, friends.  Diane is asking for hearts and she's given us a pretty board for inspiration.  See it below along with the prize for a random winner.

Heartfelt

A challenge can take you to some very nice places.  When I looked at the board I decided I liked the cocoa mug with the flowers behind it.  After only a little bit of head scratching I pulled out one of my all-time favorite stamp sets -- WPlus 9 Hello & Thanks.  It has the lighthearted playful look I love, and it comes with matching dies.  I also liked the aqua blue in the lower right corner of the board, so I went with that as well.

With the help of a Cottage Cutz die set I added a dollop of whipped cream and a placed a heart cut out on the side of the cup.  The teensiest hearts around the edges are from that CC die set, too.  "Best friends" is an ages old stamp (name unknown) from my stash.  Isn't that the prettiest cut and emboss edge?  It's another oldie from my stash that needs to come out to play more often -- Joy Crafts Stylish Border.

This is a special Valentine for a dear friend.

Simple coloring was done with Copics.  This was so much fun, and in my book that's what it's all about.

I hope you'll come play with us at Double D.  The team has some great samples you'll want to check out.  We always have creative winners and the one prize winner.   Most importantly we just want you to have fun.

Catch you again real soon!

Hello Again

Welcome to Monday, friends!  This is the last of the Hello & Thanks cards for now.  I colored a whole batch of these stamped images while we were camping in July, so I feel I've given the set a good share of attention.  When it came time to put this one together I kept it very clean and simple.

A blush of color on the card base.  Pearl steam rising from the cup.

Fall stamping has begun in earnest --  Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas...  I'll see you again soon.  Take care!

Thanks

Hello there!  I've been crafting my fool head off.  I don't know about you, but when I get on a roll I just have to go with it.  All these new things sitting on my desk are making me want to get a move on.

Today's card was easy because the stamped parts were already colored and die cut.  I used WPlus9 Hello & Thanks and finished off the last of the images I colored while we were camping in July.  I have another card I'll share later, too.  Today it's very clean and simple with just a blush of blue on the card base and the die cut images arranged over that.

The blue ink on the card base is SU's Bashful Blue, applied with one of my Beauty Kate make up blending brushes.  The card base is Neenah 110 lb Classic Crest so it's very sturdy without layering.

Easy stamps to color and a card that went together very quickly.  I think I like that idea!  See you again soon!

A Happy Hello

Before we leave on our next trip I was hoping to make cards with the things I colored on our previous camping trip.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Well, this one required a few extra parts so it took me a while to get around to it, but it's done now... with plenty of cheery yellow and white and a most adorable stamp set which I love all the more because I waited a year(?) to purchase it -- WPlus9 Hello & Thanks.

I colored with Copics on watercolor paper, and when we returned home I cut the images with the companion die set.  Arranged on an Impression Obsession frame and an embossed die cut panel.  I used one of my smallest Beauty Kate make up blending brushes to smudge ink onto each embossed dot.  Added a rhinestone flourish for steam because I might as well use those up and, gosh, what a cute embellishment it made!

There's plenty of texture and dimension, but it's still an easy to mail card.  Sweet!

I'll have more with this set later as I colored enough for two cards plus their insides.  I may not do as much, if any, coloring on our August trip.  I'll take supplies, but we'll be on the move a lot, road tripping and exploring interesting sites along the way.  If you don't hear from me for a while you'll know I'm somewhere awesome.  I do have a few posts scheduled for this month... just so you don't forget me, sniff sniff.

Supply list below my signature.  Have a happy day!
