Little bit of this, little bit of that....

Haven't updated in awhile so here's a little bit of what we've been up to..... A couple of months ago my parents and I took the kids to Bullhead city for a night so we could see Russell (he was working there). On our way back we stopped in this little town called Oatman which is inbetween some mountains by Kingman. It's an old mining town and the miners used donkeys to pull their loads and for other things and after the mine closed they just left the donkeys there. Well, all these years later those donkeys have stayed and reproduced in this little valley and so we had to stop and see them.

This was the first one we saw and man was is scary looking

Then we saw it's mama right afterward, can't you see the resemblence?

All of the donkeys are very tame and used to people so you can walk right up to them and feed them carrots or just pet them. Maggie and Lucas loved it.

The little baby ones were so cute, this one couldn't have been more than a few months old.

It's totally a biker town, there were tons of leather wearin', no shower for days, biker dudes and dudettes here. The donkeys could care less, they'll stand in the middle of the road or right next to the store door.

Amongst other things, there was laundry to do and Violet decided to hang out with me while I separated the loads....can you see her?

Maggie got to celebrate her 4 and a half birthday at school since she has a summer birthday. Miss Peggy is so great to remember the summer birthdays. Maggie couldn't stop talking about her candy necklace that her teacher made for her.
My sweet hubby celebrated his 30th birthday last week and honestly was a little depressed to be 30 but we celebrated anyway. There's nothing better than free lunch at Joe's Farmgrill and then free dinner at Joe's Barbeque!

After dinner we had cake and ice cream at home with Russells parents and sister Beth.

Violet's face is priceless, she had no idea what was going on

Good thing he had Maggie to help him blow out all his candles.
The day after Russells birthday was my dad's birthday so most of my family went and ate at Chino Banditos, I thought it was good, just wish it was closer to home. Russ convinced me to ride on his motorcycle with him which was fun for me... my parents and Grandpa? Not so much. They weren't too thrilled about us taking the motorcycle.

You can't tell but here we are cruisin along! It was great.

You can tell how much Violet missed us. She was not a happy girl when we got home but we gave her loves anyway!
Thats what we've been upto.

Happy Late New Year

This year for New Years we went up to the cabin in Alpine. It was so great because of the snow storm that we had around Christmas time which left us a winter wonderland! Russells brothers Keith, Derek and his sister Beth and their families came up as well. We had so much fun loungin' around the cabin playing games and eating way too many snacks. This was our first time away for New Years and it was a lot of fun! I actually never left the cabin with the exception of going out the front door to our trailer, cold weather is not for me but the kids loved it. I snapped a bunch of random pictures of everyone hanging out on the eve of the new year.....

Kennedy getting some yummy licorice

Sage, Beth and Emma playing Rummicube one of many times

Me finding out it was New Years Eve....just kidding, Russell caught me off guard, I totally have a mom look in this picture. I think we can all go back and find a picture of our moms with this exact look on their faces, we are usually the ones taking the pics so we forget how to smile quickly when a camera is put in our face.......or not.

This is Sailors best smile, no, she is turning out to be such a funny girl.

This is my favorite picture of the night, although blurry Summer would not smile for the camera but I love Dereks face as he is holding her arms behind her back and then you see Russell in the background laughing as he holds her head so she will hold still! Love you Sum, even if you didn't want a pic on New Years Eve.

Jimmy sneaking into the licorice, again, and Beth helping the kids play rummi....she's such a nice aunt. Kidding about the licorice Heimmy.

Can't you just tell the anticipation of Lucas' stance as he is ready for the movie to begin? Whether we're at home or away, the boy loves his tv.

Each night after dinner the kids got wild but this night was the craziest, it was so fun to see all the cousins laughing and having so much fun together. Russell got in on the action as well and started a tickle war.

The weather was pretty nice during the day so Maggie had herself a good ol' time playing in the snow and sledding down the mountain in back.

She gave me a good scare because what you don't see is a fence about 10ft. from where she is in the picture and she actually did hit it just 3 or 4 inches away from her face! I was taking the pic when I noticed there was nothing I could have done to stop her. It was pretty funny actually.
We had such a blast and it is always so sad when we have to leave. We love Alpine so much and are so grateful and blessed to be able to see that part of Arizona and use the cabin. Can't wait to go back in the spring!
