Framed Flippex

Today the challenge from Daring Cardmakers was 'Frames' so I thought this would fit the bill. The Flippex paper is folded behind the white frame and the corners and straight lines are gold peeloffs, with a thank you message.

Of course this is difficult to show both sides of the picture - one side having a closed balloon the other side open.

Dancing Ladies

A couple of cards made from Joanna's CD's for two card swaps. The images were layered onto the same lighter background version of the image and stacked on foam tape. Embellished with gold peeloffs, Stickles of course and a blue gem brad.

Medieval Coat of Arms

Made this today for our son John's birthday next week. I used my Medieval CD from Robert Adams which is great for men's cards. The background shields are layered onto a cream pearlized card and the centre coat of arms is decoupaged on foam tape. Simple but effective I think, using the red cross of

St. George for England.

Flower Fairies

I made a similar card a wee while ago but thought I could use this style for Arty Girlz challenge blog topic on 'Flowers'.

The flowered vellum is layered onto a white card. The flower fairy is sitting behind a gold frame and raised on foam tape. There is also a flowered insert which says 'Just to say I hope you have a lovely day'. I hope you do too.

Row Your Boat

Made this ATC a wee while ago so thought it would be good to use for The Daring Cardmakers little extra challenge on 'Vroooom' or use transport on your card. Not much vroom in this boat I fear, as it is stuck on the rocks!

My design is stamped in black Stazon using Art Impressions and Stampscapes stamps, then watercoloured using H2Os and Marvy Marker and Sakura Stardust pens (of course - could not do a card without them). The tag 'Row' is attached with a brad.

Smile Again Boys

I just could not resist making this for the TMTA challenge as the word

'Smile' always reminds me of their fab hit record. Sorry non Take That fans!

I just printed the image and titles and went round the edge with blue ink pad and dekkle edged scissors.

Smile Please - It's Christmas

Todays challenge from TMTA was 'Smile' so I thought this was a good image to use. It is from Joanna Sheen's 'The Cardmakers Year' CD, as is the background paper. I just embellished it with gold peeloffs for a simple Christmas ATC.

Autumn/Fall Fairy Arch

Here I am still in Autumn/Fall mood with my entry for Gothic Arches challenge today. The background of autumn coloured trees was attached to a gold deckle edged white card. The wheelbarrow, watering can and plantpots are decoupaged on foam to give height. The autumn Indian fairy floats from the top of the card on acetate.

Indian Summer

Made this card today for a competition. The background is a photographic image on cream pearlized card, and I added two Indian fairies on foam and one dangling on a piece of acetate for a different effect. Embellished with my favourite Stickles glitter glue ( which does not show too well on here).

Behind the Door - Purple Kimono

This was made for a Purple swap, surprise, surprise my favourite colour. The purple cards were attached to form a door and edged with purple and gold Oriental ribbons, gold peeloffs and lilac gem brads for the door handles. Inside, the purple kimono was made from an Oriental Kimono folding bloc paper, and the background is purple, pink and gold. I shall fasten the door together with gold cord, with an acetate message attached saying 'Beauty '.

A Golden Fish

Well, here is my Golden Fish made to cover three challenges today. The Daring Cardmakers little extra was 'Golden' and the Wednesday Stamper challenge was 'Fish' and a new challenge Arty Girlz challenge was stamping. Put the two words together and I got goldfish (or koi carp). I stamped the small koi carp from an Oriental stamp pack, onto a plain white card together with the large koi from Crafters Companion Oriental CD and stamp kit. These I watercoloured with Sakura gold and silver shadow pens. The main koi, again from the Crafters Companion set, is decoupaged and layered over the sentiment (from same CD printed on parchment paper and edged with a yellow ink pad) which reads 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime'.

Very true I think.

Gothic Arched Golden Angel

The topic over at Gothic Arches this week was 'Gold', so I created this card using Joanna Sheen's Victorian Christmas background paper and angel. The angel is decoupaged on foam pads and embellished with gold Stickles glitter glue. The arch is edged with gold peeloffs and the star, bells and message of hope are also gold peel offs. Another Christmas card done.

French Polar Bear

The 'Think Monday - Think ATC' challenge today was nostalgic Coca Cola, so here is my entry. The background is the snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder and the French coke advert (from the internet) is edged with silver holographic peeloffs.

Enchanted Christmas House

Just a little Christmas card I made up today with left overs from a competition entry. The images all from Joanna Sheen's 'Enchanted Christmas' CD were printed onto cream pearlized cardstock, then stacked and edged with gold peeloffs and attached to the background paper also from the same CD.

Thanks

Just a simple little 'Thanks' card for the DCM 'In a Word' challenge. I needed to make this to say thanks to my dear friend Cathy for the lovely weekend I just had with her, which is why I am so late making my entry. The centre circle is attached to a plain white card, the strip with 'Thanks' attached in the middle of the card and the soft material flower is raised on foam tape with a gem centre. The butterfly and bow embellishments finish the card off.

Folded Kimono

Well, I have found yet another challenge site called Technique Thursday so here is my first effort for this week's FOLDS challenge. I actually made this for a Pink and Black swap so got a two in one here. The card is covered with a pink striped Joanna Sheen paper covered with a layer of flowered acetate. I made the folded kimono from a pad of Oriental Kimono papers from Arts and Crafts Direct. It is edged with black peeloffs and Oriental slippers - which look like flipflops to me!!

Three Butterflies

I made these for a Pink and Black atc swap. They really don't show up too well on the scan, but the card is covered with pink striped Joanna Sheen paper covered with a layer of Oriental flowered acetate. The vellum butterflies are double layered and actually stand off the card as if flying. They are embellished as usual with Stickles glitter glue and black Oriental peeloffs.

Tryptich

The Wednesday Stamper challenge today was to create an ATC Tryptich, which means - 'A triptych (pronounced "trip-tick," from the Greek tri- "three" + ptychē "fold") is a work of art (usually a panel painting) which is divided into three sections, or three carved panels which are hinged together. The central panel is the most important one, and this is flanked on either side by two lesser but related paintings'. This is my first attempt at making a Tryptich and sorry I am still in Christmas mood. The cards were covered in starstudded vellum for the night sky. The base of the card is a yellow textured paper to represent sand. The stamps are a mixture of Rubbadubbadoo and SeeD stamps, stamped in black Stazon and coloured in Marvy marker pens and Sakura stardust pens. The centre panel - the most important - has Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus and the other two represent the Three Kings and the Shepherd with his lamb. The angel, star and message finish off the cards. Wow what a challenge this was.

Big Tree, Little Tree

Sorry folks, but here is another Christmas card made for the DCM midweek extra - topic Big and Little. Very simple card here made from a diamond Merry Christmas die cut, layered onto a gold tree foiled card. The big tree and little tree are wooden embellishments with a touch of added sparkle glitter (which may not show on photo). Too easy really maybe I should do another more difficult one!

Black and Pink Slide Mounts

The challenge from TMTA this week was 'Slide Mounts' so I have incorporated this into another challenge which was 'Black and Pink' and produced two atc's. The pink background paper is from Joanna Sheen and I have added a vintage acetate design and overlaid the black slide mounts. Highlighted with Sakura pens and black peeloff stickers.

Snowman Family Arch

Here I have a double whammy for Daring Cardmakers and the Gothic Arches challenges. DCM challenge was 'Tearing Purple Holes for Christmas' and the Gothic Arches challenge was 'Family'. Here is my Snowman Family, which is stamped in purple Stazon onto white Christmas tree vellum. This is attached to the purple card with purple eyelets. The edge of the card is torn purple mulberry paper and the silver peeloff and the punched star holes finish the card off.

Arched Mask

Another card with the Feathered Mask and Mince Flourish stamps. Torn purple mulberry paper is layered onto a pink pearlescent card. The mask is attached to a pink Gothic arch which is sponged with pink and purple diebased inkpad, (my first go at doing an arch), and coloured as before with Stickles glitter glue and Sakura pens. Thought this would be ok for DCM challenge which was to use purple, torn paper and have holes in the card but then realized it said Christmas card so the peeloff should read Happy Christmas. Silly me!!!

Feathered Mask

Decided to have a play with my new Feathered Mask and Mince Flourish stamps. The background card is sponged with diebased pink and purple ink pads. The Mince Flourish stamped on the background card is embellished with Sakura pens and Stickles glitter glue. The actual mask is also coloured with Stickles and Sakura pens and the eyes are cut out. The purple feather is attached through a slit in the top of the mask and a pink ribbon bow finishes it off.

Feathered Hat

Here is a nice pink feathered hat which I think fits the Daring Cardmakers little midweek extra 'You Big Softie'. Feathers are very strokeable I think. The hat is a gold double embossed peeloff over pink flowered vellum, and the pink and white spotted backing paper is edged with gold peeloffs and a butterfly on a pink card. The feathers are attached underneath the hat peeloff and embellished with a pink gemstone sticker. The insert says 'Just to say'.

Mulberry Papered Medallion

The challenge for today from Wednesday Stamper is to create something using Mulberry or handmade papers. Here is my effort using purple mulberry paper with torn edges on a varigated yellow card. The medallion was stamped five times on white card and embossed in silver. The centre of the flower is a mauve sticky gem. A best wishes peeloff finishes off the card.

I have just got a new scanner/printer so sorry for the not too good quality of the print - this is my first go and need to change something !!!
