Masculine Beach Birthday Card

Masculine Beach Birthday Card with Really Reasonable Ribbon by Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I made this masculine beach birthday card for my husband this month.  He loves the beach, and since his birthday is right after the 4th of July, I usually create something with a red, white and blue theme for him.  Sometimes it's hard to use ribbon on a masculine card, but Baker's Twine is a great option!  This Airmail Twine was the perfect solution for hanging the anchor embellishment on my card.

It also made the perfect topper on the Electric Blue Taffeta bow that I added to the stopper on the easel card base.  Taffeta ribbon ties such beautiful, crisp bows, and the Electric Blue shade really sets off all the blues in the card design.

Here's a peek at the inside of the card.  Because this is an easel card, the stopper is part of the card interior.  I added a twine-topped tag to the little pocket so I could write a note.  A gift card fit in here really well, too!

If you haven't yet discovered the joy of working with Baker's Twine, I encourage you to take a look at the wide array of colors and styles that Bonnie has in the shop.  I've started collecting it by the spool because I enjoy working with it so much.

Wishing you a day filled with joy and creativity!

Cheerio,

Helloo Deer

Hi all, it's Debbie here today.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week. It's been a good week so far and a little cooler here in Texas with temps in the 80's. :D  I hope you all are doing okay.
I am here sharing a card I created for some upcoming birthdays this fall so to start it off I created this masculine card.

I used a simple layout along with a couple of ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbons that were perfect for this masculine card. I used 1.5" Brown Netting . I like how it added a bit of texture to the background and then I used the Textured Two-Tone Brown/Antique Gold with a gold button in the middle.
I really like how this card looks rustic.  It turned out really cool with the ribbons and paper together. And the deer photo coordinates perfectly with the Textured Two-Tone Brown/Antique Gold. I just love that ribbon, it's so pretty but adds a great touch to a masculine card.

I used 1.5" Brown Netting as part of my background again.
I think it adds a really nice texture to the inside of the card, too.

Thank you all for stopping by today, I hope you are inspired to try some of this really lovely Netting, it comes in many beautiful colors you will love it and head over to take a look at other ribbons from the store  Really Reasonable Ribbons .
Hugs,

A Masculine Thinking of You Card

It's the weekend! wooo hooo!
So let's get our crafty on with some fun ribbons and trims! ;)

I needed a 'Thinking of You' type card for my uncle who is very ill. In his younger days, he used to love to hunt. I was so excited when I found a wonderful page of Woodland Deer Tags over at Polly's Paper Studio. You might remember that this store was a sponsor of our last challenge here at Really Reasonable Ribbon, but Ginny, the owner, is also on the Design Team! :)  It was so easy to add one of these images to a card for my uncle.
The tag itself is tied with dark brown plaid ribbon that I lightly inked to give it an aged feel.  A little snippet of brown burlap string ties the bow and is used on the big vintage button, too.  A piece of crochet trim tops the vellum stripe banner.  The pretty flower is one of the new coral open roses in the store. I added a few touches of ink to have it match the flowers on the tag.

More detailed information about the card can be found on my blog, "Just Coffee Please..."

I do hope you will join our 'Celebrate with Ribbon or Trim' challenge!  We would love to see your latest projects! :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Fun Father's Day Card for Dad

For our June Blog Hop, please click HERE.

Hello there everyone.  This is Bonnie with a fun fishing themed card for Dad using some fun and 'manly' trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I found this great fishing design paper at Hobby Lobby (from the Paper Studio) and I grabbed it since my hubby is an avid fisherman.  I fussy cut it a little so I could keep that great green lure centered near the bottom of the card.

I didn't have a Father's Day sentiment and I didn't want to buy one since I knew it wouldn't get a lot of use, so I made one using my PSE program.  I used two fonts;  Showcard Gothic and MV Boli.  I think it came out pretty good seeing as I have no idea what I'm doing.....

I cut the sentiment out with an oval die and layered it on some green and red cardstock.  I ran a piece of Champagne Netting around the upper portion of the card and placed the sentiment on top of it.  I thought it looked a little bit like fishing net, right?

Here is the inside of the card.  I created this also using the same fonts.

I wanted to add one more trim and I thought some fun knotting with Natural Jute String was the perfect accent.  I did a little research on knots and this is called a Fisherman's Knot.  Very appropriate, no?
Knotted roping is a great accent for a masculine card.  Do a little web search and you find instructions on a whole slew of different decorative knots.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope I gave you a little inspiration for incorporating some fun trims in your next masculine card.

Masculine Birthday Card with a Touch of Ribbon and String

Masculine cards... hmmmmm.....

Hi ribbon lovers.  Today I have a masculine birthday card with a touch of ribbon and burlap string from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I was looking over my card stash the other day and realized I'm very short on cards for men.  That makes sense because they are just so hard for me to make!

I whipped this one up for my son's birthday last week and I feel like it was a success.  I have trouble keeping things 'simple' which is key to creating a masculine card.

I hope he liked it.  I know he loved the chocolate chip cookies that arrived with it!

I went with minimal layers and a fun manly design paper that had a little distressed look.

I added three ribbon 'flags' below the sentiment with 5/8" Diamond Satin and I wrapped some Natural Burlap String around the lower portion of the card and topped it with a brown button.  I think it works.

Here is a peek at the inside sentiment.  Done!

The great thing about masculine cards is they are fast and easy - if you can give yourself permission to just call it done.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Masculine Birthday Card

Happy Thursday!! I was playing with this Turftan Brown Diamond Satin Ribbon the other day and this idea struck me. Have you ever had a moment when everything just came together in a blink of an eye? I wanted to use up my silver buttons and create a simple Masculine birthday card, so I went into work!

I love all of the diamond satin ribbons that Bonnie carries at RRR, they are smooth and wonderful to tie bows easily. Here I simply tied the knot vertically on the card and added a silver button right on top using the glue dot. Stamped the sentiment in blank ink and added a few star sequins on the card. This card took only few minutes, and I thought it would inspire you to feel more comfortable in creating any masculine card.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day!!
