Cute Mary Janes

Hope you had a great celebration yesterday! We sure did, with lots of ice cream and fun for the kids, and good food and company for all of us. I'm off to the big city (well, Oslo to be exact) for a week and won't be blogging, but hopefully knitting and crocheting. My latest project has been these cute slippers:

Old School Crochet

When we visited Vesterålen earlier this spring, I was inspired to do a bit of crochet. After seeing my Grandmother's old clothes hangers:

I made a 70's version in brown and orange:

I also made some pot holders in pale blue and pink, colors that go well with the pastels in the old kitchen: 

I love to crochet every now and then, and it seems it's often in spring.. How about you?

Quick Fix

After my not-so-successful vest experiment last week, I decided to fix an existing vest that had gotten too short, but otherwise was fine:

Some quick rounds with the crochet needle, and the vest is as good as new! The original vest pattern is a favorite of mine for babies, from the book 'Strikk til nøstebarn' by Kathrine Gregersen.
