Supporters of the Confederate Flag: What the Flag Means to Us

A Southern Brother and Patriot

For the past three months or so, we have been told what the Confederate flag means to leftists, liberals and radical blacks.  They have preached their negative impressions from the rooftops, censoring, banning and banishing everything Confederate in their path.  To these people, the very sight of a Confederate flag means "I hate black people!  I'm against racial equality!  I want to bring back segregation, Jim Crow and poll taxes! Long live White Supremacy!"

Well thanks for explaining to us what's in our evil Southern hearts.  We would never have known what we are feeling without liberal-provided stereotypes and knee-jerk reactions to colored cloth.

Okay, enough B.S.  Now I will tell you what we REALLY feel about the Confederate flag, and why it fills our hearts with self-recognition, loyalty and pride.

We love and fly the Confederate flag to nonverbally state the following:

1.  The South is our country, a country within a country.  We are a people with a history of shared sacrifice, suffering and survival.  The flag says to us, "I belong to something greater than myself:  a nation, a people."  Our nationhood includes many Southern black brothers and sisters who also revere the Confederate flag.  Maybe they didn't read the liberal/leftist/Democrat talking points and are unaware of what they are supposed to believe.

2.  We reject the Northern version of history, that the North fought to free the slaves and the South fought to keep and expand slavery.  The war was a war of conquest based on the North's insistence on subjugating the South economically, and its desire to continue subjecting the South to high tariffs, unfair taxation for the benefit of the North at the expense of the South.

3.  We insist that the Southern states had a legal and moral right to secede from the Union, that "the consent of the governed" was the overriding factor and principle in the South's decision to secede.  The South no longer consented.

4.  We believe that the North's brutal invasion and conquest of the South was criminal in the extreme, naked aggression for the purpose of continuing to tax and rule the Southern states.  There was nothing honorable, legal, moral or right in the North's aggression.  We wholeheartedly condemn it.

5.  We will forever revere and honor our Confederate ancestors who fought for Southern Independence, and forever mourn what was lost at Appomattox -- the right to govern ourselves.

All of the above five points could be summarized as this:  "The South was right and the North was wrong!"  Or, alternatively, "We are Southern loyalists and we are still here!  Deal with it!"

As for the notion that we fly the flag to make liberal black people feel bad, well that's just not true.  Liberals, whether black or white, are just not so important to us to make us expend the energy.  Not that it takes much energy to offend a liberal.  Anyone can do it without hardly trying. Nevertheless, we'd rather sit on our porches and drink iced tea and smoke cigars.  Hating morons takes too much work and accomplishes nothing.

I suspect the current antagonism towards everything Confederate is borne of a worry that we the conquered may not forever wish to remain that way.  Disloyalty to the current mega-state cannot be tolerated.  All must think the same, vote the same, and behave the same.   Screw that.  Long live the South!

George Zimmeran's Painting of the Confederate Flag

George Zimmerman owes big bucks to attorneys for representing him in a politically driven murder trial two years ago.  Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin, "an unarmed teen," as the media likes to describe him.  Martin, however, was armed with his fists and a really bad attitude, and sucker punched Zimmerman before sitting on Zimmerman's chest and pounding his head into the cement. 

Unfortunately for the "unarmed teen," Zimmerman wasn't.  Unarmed, that is.  Scratch one punk.

Since Martin was black, he was a member of the Dalai Lama Tribe of the Ebony Epidermis, the DLTEE, a sacred group who are never wrong, never at fault, and always the victim, no matter what the circumstances.  So a politically driven, leftist district attorney decided to try Zimmerman for second degree murder.  One cannot shoot a member of the DLTEE even in self-defense, because, as noted above, such people are never at fault, never responsible, and always victims of unrelenting white Hispanic racism.  Alas for the High Priestess of the DLTEE, Zimmerman was acquitted on all charges in 2013.  Charges, that according to the police, should never have been brought.

Now George Zimmerman has turned to painting artwork to sell, so he can pay his enormous legal bills.  His paintings are fetching large sums.  His latest painting is of the Confederate Battle Flag, and was inspired by Florida Gun Supply owner Andy Hallinan, who displays a Confederate flag in his gun store.  Halliman declared his gun store to be a "Muslim-Free Zone" and is being sued by CAIR, a Muslim "civil rights" group.  Zimmerman's painting is partially in support of Halliman.  Zimmerman adds:

"My confederate flag painting also represents the hypocrisy of political correctness that is plaguing this nation."

This blog has supported George Zimmerman from the get-go, after learning the facts of the case early on.  We were incensed over the political show-trial to which Zimmerman was subjected, and wish him the best.

Zo of "ZoNation" is a Flaming Ignoramus on the Civil War

Zo, an alleged black conservative for Pajamas Media, has been shooting his mouth off again about the Confederate flag.  He even went so far as to denigrate Anthony Hervey, a black supporter of the Confederate flag and Confederate history, who was killed last week by other blacks, who like Zo, are ignorant and intolerant of Confederate history.

Zo's sophomoric arguments fall along these lines (my brief rebuttals are highlighted):

1.  The Confederates were Democrats
      (You had to be a U.S. citizen to be a Democrat.  Confederates did not qualify.)
2.  Democrats believed in slavery and the "right to own other human beings."
(Yankees, and Whigs, who became the Republicans, believed in the right to own slaves too.  They proved it by buying and working slaves in Northern states and by selling millions of slaves to other countries.  Zo, like many of the historically illiterate, seem to think that only the South owned slaves.  Not even close.)
3.  The Confederate flag is a Democrat flag.
(The Democratic Party did not create the Confederate flag.  The statement is erroneous and asinine.)

Zo is not the only person spouting this nonsense.  A lot of so-called Republicans are saying the same kinds of things.  They seem not to realize that millions of modern Confederate supporters are Republicans, and very few are Democrats.  Modern Democrats, on the other hand, are leading the charge to ban all Confederate symbols, flags and monuments.  They are opposed by Southern Republicans.  For example, the governor and legislature of North Carolina are Republican controlled, and those Republicans passed laws this past week to protect Confederate monuments from Democrat eradication.  The very Democrat-loyal NAACP complained and are threatening a demonstration.

In Georgia, it is Democrats who are insisting on erasing the Confederate figures from Stone Mountain, and who are planning to make it a campaign issue in the next election.

So Zo, it appears that for today, in the modern world, the Confederate flag is a REPUBLICAN flag.  Read it and weep, sweetie.

Well no, it has always been a symbol of liberty -- and self rule, self-determination -- and that has been recognized in all parts of the globe.

Nevertheless, the above linked article is well worth the read.  Some great quotes:

Megyn Kelly, Fox News Anchor writes: People say constantly that Lincoln “saved” the Union. Lincoln didn’t save the Union; he subjugated the Union. There is a huge difference. A union that is not voluntary is not a union.

The author, Eric Retzlaff, adds these comments:

The idea that the states are sovereign nations that freely created, for their common good, a national government with limited delegated powers and that the states could resist and nullify unconstitutional federal actions or even secede, as the colonies broke from Great Britain–this was lost when the South was crushed. These United States became the United States, which has grown into an increasingly liberal, immoral and tyrannical monster.

Against this un-American impulse, the Rev. Dr. James David Manning of the Christian ATLAH Worldwide Ministries, a black minister, recently predicted (prophesied?), with his powerful preaching skills, the South as the salvation of the Union from liberal dictatorship. If this is the new South, then where is the South, only below the Mason-Dixon line? No, it’s everywhere.

Now wouldn’t it be ironic if the Confederate flag became the symbol of freedom and rebellion against tyranny?

Black Lady Defends the Confederacy and Its Flag (Video)

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

A Chesterfield woman is Black and proud to display the Confederate flag. The Virginia Flagger is speaking out and challenging stereotypes.

"I'm sick and tired of my White Christian southern friends being attacked," said Karen Cooper. "People displaying a flag is not a problem."

She's outraged over the Confederate battle flag being taken down after 9 South Carolina church members were murdered at the hands of Dylann Roof, often pictured holding the flag.

"They are trying to pin the murder of 9 people on a flag," said Cooper. "This is an inanimate object. It is right here. It is not harming me. It's not calling me bad names. It's not telling me to go kill people."

Cooper rejects the suggestion the flag is a symbol of racism or defenders of slavery.

"That is to say that I support the Confederacy," said Cooper. "I actually believe in my heart that they were good men."

Karen says Confederate soldiers fought for state's rights. She says it was not about slavery. 

"'State's rights means my rights....White's rights...over yours,'" said former Richmond city councilman Marty Jewell of the message sent by Confederate flaggers. "And if anybody can come up with another descriptive I'll eat their hat. The forces waving that flag are always happy to find a fool...a fool who will say what they won't say themselves but has a Black face."

Jewell says he feels sorry for Cooper. 

"The poor thing," said Jewell. " We pray for her."

Cooper says she is accustomed to being called names. 

"That's okay. I will fight for your freedom to call me names," said Cooper. "That's what the First Amendment is all about. God forbid they make it a law, and I can't wear this. That's when I'm going to jail, and I'm going to be back in chains like my ancestors." 

Cooper says she plans to be buried with the Confederate flag.

Former NAACP president H.K. Edgerton also defended the Confederate flag after protesters spray-painted "Black Lives Matter" on a Confederate monument in Asheville, North Carolina.

Let's Get Rid of the NAACP, a Racist and Hateful Organization

The NAACP, smelling blood in the water, wants more flesh for its Confederate feeding frenzy. Today, the NAACP has called for sandblasting the sculpture of Confederate generals off the face of Stone Mountain in Georgia.  Why should an ignorant minority with a huge chip on its shoulder, be allowed to bully the majority?  Why should their profound ignorance be allowed to displace historical fact?

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was once a civil rights organization, formed to protect the rights and safety of black Americans.  Now that equal rights have long been achieved, the NAACP no longer has the burning purpose that once motivated its members.  Rather than disband as obsolete, the leaders of this organization continue to seek relevance (and money, prestige and power) by stoking the fires of racial hatred.  They do not seek racial harmony, understanding and peace, because such things undermine their purpose and reason to exist.  As former slave Booker T. Washington said:

There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.

He also stated:

I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.

Booker Washington's two statements describe the NAACP to a "T."  The NAACP thrives on racial strife, and do everything in their power to provoke it and extend it.  Without white resentment of blacks, they are out of business.

What better way to keep racial hostility simmering than to eradicate the symbols, flags and monuments to the Confederacy?  The NAACP wants to piss on the graves of our ancestors, remove them from the public memory, and insult all who value our Confederate ancestry.  Has their strategy of engendering hatred worked?

Yes, it has worked on me, for I hate the NAACP and will do everything in my peaceful and lawful power to disempower this evil organization.  We need the IRS to audit them and revoke their non-profit status.  We need to stop granting them an undeserved and unearned respect.  Do not donate any money to the NAACP, and do what you can to disrupt their mischief on the local level.  Picket them with Confederate flags flying; sue them; denounce them.  Petition your state governments to cancel their non-profit status.  Confront them with courage, for they have feet of clay.  The NAACP is the enemy of racial harmony, and it is time to publicly state that fact for all to hear.

Walmart to Melt All Class Rings With Confederate Flags

The anti-flag hysteria continues.  BOYCOTT WALMART!

This just in from Fox News:

An Arkansas woman who went to pick up the class ring she ordered from Walmart left disappointed, after store officials told her the retailer's new policy barred them from turning the item over -- because it bore an image of the Confederate flag.

Elaine Glidewell told KFSM someone from the store in Fort Smith called her to pick up the ring she'd ordered for her nephew, but when she arrived on Tuesday, a clerk told her she couldn’t have it. The ring had been ordered before Walmart stopped selling items bearing images of the flag, in the wake of controversy that stemmed from a racially-charged shooting in South Carolina.

“I wanted to cry,” Glidewell told KFSM, adding that the store clerk said the ring would be "melted."

Chuck Baldwin: "The Confederate Flag Needs To Be Raised, Not Lowered"

Chuck Baldwin gets it.  He writes:

Ladies and gentlemen, I submit that what we see happening in the United States today is an apt illustration of why the Confederate flag was raised in the first place. What we see materializing before our very eyes is tyranny: tyranny over the freedom of expression, tyranny over the freedom of association, tyranny over the freedom of speech, and tyranny over the freedom of conscience.

In 1864, Confederate General Patrick Cleburne warned his fellow southerners of the historical consequences should the South lose their war for independence. He was truly a prophet. He said if the South lost, “It means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy. That our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by all of the influences of History and Education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.” No truer words were ever spoken.

History revisionists flooded America’s public schools with Northern propaganda about the people who attempted to secede from the United States, characterizing them as racists, extremists, radicals, hatemongers, traitors, etc. You know, the same way that people in our federal government and news media attempt to characterize Christians, patriots, war veterans, constitutionalists, et al. today.

Oppression does not need to be inflicted directly by the government for a society to be totalitarian. On the contrary, in a truly totalitarian society, the oppression is so ubiquitous, the government hardly needs to get involved. An example would be the USA in 2015, where a television standard that has been part of our culture for decades is going down the memory hole because the flag on the roof of a car is now regarded as a thought crime. Good-bye Dukes of Hazzard; you were just a little too Southern to be permitted...

A Time to Fight: Take Down the American Flag -- America Has Seceded From the South!

This morning I read on Drudge that the Antietam Battlefield Park has removed all Confederate flag items from its shops.  They are so fanatical about their censorship of history, that they won't sell anything that even pictures a Confederate flag, if that picture or depiction is detachable.

This is worse than fascism -- this is mass insanity.  America has become a hostile work environment.  Or more than that, a hostile living environment.

NASCAR is also reaching new depths of depravity.  Not only are they banning use of the Confederate flag on the track, now they are seeking to ban it in the infield as well.

There are ways to comply with this madness:  stay home.  If Antietam and other parks deny the Confederate flag to the public, then the public should deny its dollars to Antietam.  Don't go there.

If NASCAR wants to spit in the face of its greatest supporters (flag-waving Southerners), comply with its wishes:  leave your Confederate flags at home, and stay there with them.

AND TAKE DOWN THE AMERICAN FLAG.  Why fly the flag of the invader?  The flag of a nation who hates us and seeks to oppress, marginalize, insult and disinherit us?  By its choice, not ours, we are no longer a part of America.  America has seceded from us!

America, then, should no longer be a part of us.  Let each one of us internally and morally secede from the Union, by withdrawing our moral support from it, by denying its moral legitimacy over our lives, by refusing to accept its false history, oppression and marginalization.

IT IS TIME TO FIGHT.  Not with guns (yet), but with strategies and countermeasures.  It is time for us to find ways to repay our Yankee masters for 150 years of occupation and oppression.
