Geert Wilders Acquitted of "Inciting Hatred" Against Muslims

Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician and leader of the Dutch Freedom Party, has been under indictment for two and a half years in the Netherlands.  He made a film called "Fitna," that included clips of Islamic Imams giving speeches that call for violence against Jews and infidels, and which featured Koranic quotes commanding violence, juxtaposed with photos of recent Muslim atrocities (in New York, Madrid, London and Beslan).  His point:  Islam is a very violent religion that is responsible for ongoing mass murder in many parts of the world.  He called on Muslims to reform their religion and "tear out" the hateful pages in the Koran that call for violence against non-believers.

Geert Wilders has long opposed Muslim immigration into the Netherlands due to the recent violence there and in other countries, and the refusal of Muslim immigrants to assimilate into Dutch society.  They are sound reasons, based firmly in reality as opposed to the wishful thinking of leftist politicians.  Wilders has received numerous death threats from Muslims and must live under a 24 hour guard to protect him from "the religion of peace"....in his own country.

The Netherlands, like much of Europe, has become a Politically Correct form of fascism, where free speech is rigorously suppressed if it involves any criticism of this violent and intolerant religion.  Wilders soon found himself on trial for "inciting hatred" against Muslims (for telling the truth about their religion).  Truth is not a defense in much of Europe -- if you break the speech codes imposed by government, you are subject to trial and imprisonment.

In the Netherlands, the prosecution stated before the trial that they believed Wilders to be innocent of the charges; however, the judges forced the trial to go forward anyway.

Reuters reports:

The presiding judge said Wilders' remarks were sometimes "hurtful," "shocking" or "offensive," but that they were made in the context of a public debate about Muslim integration and multi-culturalism, and therefore not a criminal act.

"I am extremely pleased and happy," Wilders told reporters after the ruling. "This is not so much a win for myself, but a victory for freedom of speech. Fortunately you can criticize Islam and not be gagged in public debate."

Per Weasel Zippers, Robert Kennedy Jr., visiting the Netherlands, has described Dutch politician Geert Wilders as "a racist."   RFK Jr. was apparently speaking of Wilders' opposition to Islam, the violent culture that killed RFK Jr.'s own father back in 1967.  Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, a Palestinian, Muslim sympathizer and anti-semite, followed a long Islamic/Arabic tradition of killing people, and shot Robert F. Kennedy Sr. to death at a political rally in Los Angeles.  Sirhan was angry at RFK's appearance before Jewish groups promising support to Israel, in which the elder RFK posed in a Jewish skull cap.

This same murderous mindset also killed many hundreds of people recently, in New York, Madrid, London, Beslan and Mumbai (among others).  Wilders, apparently appalled at the growing body count, began to speak out against Islam and its intolerant and hateful beliefs.

Enter stage left, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is now honoring the memory of his father by siding with the violent culture that killed him, and by attacking Geert Wilders, a man far more principled, courageous and informed than himself.

Via Gates of Vienna, Geert Wilders made his concluding remarks to the Amsterdam court where he is being tried for "inciting hatred."  His crime:  he made the film "Fitna" that quoted passages from the Koran, juxtaposed with images of Muslim atrocities, including 9/11 and Madrid, as well as with videos of Muslim leaders voicing hatred and pledging violence.

In short, Geert Wilders is on trial for telling the truth, that Islam is a totalitarian ideology that is violent and hateful.  The Netherlands, like much of Europe, has become extremely intolerant of free speech, stating that the truth of the speech is not a defense against prosecution.  Europe has become what the left wants to create here in the USA, to prosecute people for political reasons, for thought crimes, for voicing their opinions.

Geert Wilders is Western Civilization on Trial

The trial of Geert Wilders is underway in the Netherlands.  He is accused of fomenting hatred and discrimination against Muslims as well as "racism."  How did he do this?  He told the truth about Islam, the most vile of major ideologies in force today.  His film "Fitna" featured quotes from the Qur'an, juxtaposed with actual video and photographic images of recent Islamic atrocities.  At the end of the film Wilders asks Muslims to "tear out" these pages of hatred from the Qur'an.

Note the irony:  Geert Wilders is on trial for telling the truth.  His trial is an effort by the Dutch leftists to install speech codes into Dutch society and to end the western right of free speech.  Muslims will remain a protected class, above criticism or suspicion.

Wilders is being limited in the number of witnesses he can call:  out of 18 requested, only 3 were approved by the court.

As the Gates of Vienna has stated, Geert Wilders is a hero.  It is his head that is on the block, it is he who must undergo the scrutiny of a kangaroo court that is intent on exchanging modernity for barbarism.  But it is not only Geert Wilders who is on trial.  It is Western civilization.

The Ascendant Left: Eventually We Will Lose Our Freedoms

There's a disturbing story afoot this week. Geert Wilders, the Dutch Parliamentarian who produced the film "Fitna" is to be prosecuted in the Netherlands for telling the truth about Islam.

Wilders's film juxtaposed recent images of Muslim violence against the West with passages from the Qur'an that permit (and even require) such attacks. But since the truth was "insulting to Muslims" he will be criminally prosecuted and in all probability be imprisoned for it.

The Netherlands is a particularly cowardly nation that is now in the process of committing national suicide by allowing great numbers of Muslim immigrants to move in. Islam is a violent and intolerant culture and many Dutch have moved out of the Netherlands for their own safety. Euro-weenie philosophy seems to hold that, if a group of people hate your guts and want to kill you or conquer you, then you must let millions of them immigrate into your country. If there is any logic in this, I fail to see it.

Liberalism is anti-logic, anti-justice, anti-freedom. It always seeks to protect the violent against the defenseless, the guilty against the innocent and the despots against the democrats. It is a form of self-hatred whose goal is suicide.

This kind of European insanity is what the Democrats want to bring to our country. Eventually, freedom of speech will be sharply curtailed in the service of "multiculturalism." Funny how hatred, violence and intolerance are all protected and well served by an ideology (liberalism) that pretends to support pluralism and tolerance.

In the spirit of pluralism and tolerance, we will allow an intolerant and hateful culture to take root in the West. In the name of freedom, we will end freedom. These are dark days for mankind.

Not All Westerners Are Chicken: Dutch Pol Geert Wilders

Well my last post was a bit pessimistic. Realistic, but pessimisic.

Not all Westerners are cowards, just their governments. There is a French school teacher in hiding for criticizing Islam in print, with death Fatwas issued against him by the Religion of Murder.

Now there is Geert Wilders of the Netherlands, who is a hero in my book. He got in trouble (I almost said "in Dutch") this past week for saying Muslims who want to live in the Netherlands must tear out half of the Koran and throw it away. The jihad parts, the murder of infidel parts, would have to be discarded. Saudi Arabian officials demanded a retraction and an apology, but he refused to give it. He said he had nothing to learn about freedom of speech from totalitarianists.

Yesterday Wilders had a few more things to say that won't play well in Ryadh or Tehran. He said:

"I do not want to live in a country where some day six or seven members of cabinet could be Muslim," adding that Islamic laws were "barbaric", referring to four people who were beheaded in Saudi-Arabia this week.

"I want to encourage Muslims to leave the Netherlands voluntarily. The demographic development should become such, that the chance is small that we again have two Muslims in the cabinet." About 1 million Muslims live in the Netherlands out of a population of 16 million.

Last week Wilders called on Muslims to ditch half the teachings in the Koran and said he would chase Islam's Prophet Mohammad out of the country if he were alive today. The Iranian embassy called those remarks "spiteful", while the Saudi Arabian embassy held talks over the comments with Dutch foreign ministry officials.

Damn, we complain a lot about the Euroweenies, but there are also some EuroSTUDS out there too. Wilders is one of them. Long may he wail. I absolutely agree with everything he said.
