St John's

Morning in St John's cemetery.  The sunbeams were pretty and subtle; I don't know how well they show up here.

St John's in the fog

Yesterday was a very warm day.  The air temperature was well above freezing, above 40F even!  This is the perfect condition for fog to develop - warm air over cold snow on the ground.  I took the opportunity to take a walk through St John's and Vale cemeteries.  I like the crow flying through this one.

Skywatch Friday

I haven't done a Skywatch Friday in a while.  I was reminded by last night.  I was waiting for the space station to fly overhead and saw a brilliant meteor - it looked like a straggling Perseid,  Saw the space station pass too.  Glorious.

This was taken at St John's cemetery this morning.  It was very hazy, and the sun worked hard to peep through this much.  This post is dedicated to Klaus Peter.  We'll miss you Klaus.

A group of photobloggers post a photo of their skies each Friday - it's called Skywatch Friday. Click the link to see photos from round the world.

Spring fog

Spring brings warm air that meets up with the cold ground and produces fog.  This is St John's Cemetery, looking east into the morning sun.

I don't know why, but I like photos like this.

Solitary tree

A lone tree keeping watch over St John's Cemetery.

Sunrise at St John's

Sunrise at the back side of St John's cemetery. It's a quick walk from my house. Just beyond the fence is a quiet world, so very different from the hustle and bustle of the city on this side.

Skywatch Friday

Another informal Skywatch Friday post.

For the first time in what seems like weeks, there was a sunrise this morning. It's a short walk to St John's cemetery, so I took a few photos there where the sky is unobstructed by the houses and the trees are in the distance. I don't use a photo manipulation program, but I admit to moving around to just the right spot to capture this.
