Vintage block mashup

I've had a pile of vintage blocks for too long
and I'm thinking about how to use them.
I know they're bright and busy, but that's what I love about them.
Here's layout #1

Toning it down with layout #2,
which includes some leftover solid pinwheels from another project.

How about if I make that centre medallion into a star?
Layout #4

Actually, that star is made from a set of vintage printed napkins.

And then I decided to turn it around and put the napkins on the inside.
Layout #4.

I'm not convinced in any direction yet,
What do you think?

Spare parts

I got out all the spare parts and leftover blocks from my parts drawer and laid them out on my cutting table. I don't have a plan for any of these. They could be part of a larger quilt, or decorative elements on a bag or maybe a tea cozy.

Here are two baskets not included in my Basket of News quilt because they were the only ones that weren't red, black or white. But I still like them, and I'll try to find another use for them.

Here's a wide view of what I've got. At the top left are some letters from my 2 B quilt and a bunch of red and black crumb blocks. After I took the photos, I put them all back in the drawer. I'm waiting for another day for inspiration on this stuff.
