The first project I decided to make is
a dishwasher magnet. I decided my guys needed a little hint for when they should put dishes IN the dishwasher and not in the sink. Knowing the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty should prompt them to do that right?

Recipe: Love You A Latte
Shape - 3.50"

Cup - 2.50"

Storybook - Font .50"

Next, I used my grandkids' Halloween photo from 2010 to create this layout.

Recipe: Autumn Celebrations
Ship - 4.50"

Letter Envy
K & T cut at 1.50"

Threading Water punch for the border layers
Core'dinations Chocolate paper for the ship. I loved this paper. Brown on one side and red on the other and I sanded it.

Scrapbook Friday with My Cricut Craft Room - Theme Baby Animals

Today's theme is baby animals and I chose to scrapbook photos of my son's boxer when she was a baby back in 2009. She is such a funny dog and is about 5 times bigger now than in these photos.

To create my page, I used Art Philosophy for the font and shape behind it and Create A Critter for the bone. I stitched around the page with my Janome sewing machine and used some twine around the bone.

My Cricut Craft Room Sketch Challenge

Today we had a choice of doing a Halloween themed page (It is Friday the 13th after all right?) or using a sketch provided by Erica to create a scrapbook layout. I chose the sketch option. Here is the sketch we were given to work with:
And here is what I came up with:

I found these adorable photos of my granddaughter and grandson that we took one weekend when they spent the night. Here is the story on these photos: My younger son has two dogs and they live at our house. The grandkids are my older son's kids and they adore these two dogs. One of the dogs is a large and very excitable boxer. She loves those kids but also loves to lick them like crazy! My husband Jay and I put the dogs in the cage until the kids had been there for awhile to try to keep things a little calmer. After our older son and our daughter in law had left, the kids wanted to know where the dogs were. Here is the journaling on the layout
"Jay: Honey where are the kids?"
Me: They were in talking to Kyera and Jonny in the cage.
Jay: The dogs are in the living room.

We go investigate and find that Taylor and Kamdyn had let the dogs out of the cage and locked themselves in! Taylor had made signs for the dogs that said i love you Jony and Kyera and she hung them on their cage. Are they not the cutest kids ever?"

For this layout, I used Ribbons and Rosettes for the border down the center of the page. I cut the image on page 31 using the Border 1" x 11" button. I mixed it up a little by using my Gypsy and flipping and welding the border so that it was cut on both sides.

The circles for the title and journaling were cut using Plantin Schoolbook. The smallest circle has a stamp from Pink By Design (it is the Labels set) and the sentiment reads "You Are Loved"

The title was cut at 1/2" using Robotz. I also used my deep cut blade and chipboard to make the letters stand out. I chose Feeling Cagey because the definition of cagey is being crafty, cunning, cute or tricky. I added Glossy Accents to the letters to give them shine and dimension.

I cut the silhouette of the dog from Paper Pups @ 2.41". I also added Glossy Accents to the eyes and nose.

Hope you enjoyed my layout. To see more projects from our awesome new design team members, please go visit Erica's blog and she will have links posted to their projects. You can find her blog at this link: http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/

Erica's Craft Room 100 Cartridge Blog Hop - Day Two

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

You should have come here from Laura's blog. If not, you will want to start at the beginning with Erica at Http://MyCricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

For today's hop in my continuing effort to create more layouts, I have created this one using four different cartridges. Isn't my granddaughter just so adorable in her tap outfit for her recital? They performed a dance for Little Bunny Foo Foo. Now she is also in ballet and I can't wait to see this year's recital that will happen in May.
Here is the recipe I used to create this layout:

Twinkle Toes - little girl Image #2 cut at four inches. I used my Gypsy's hide contour feature to hide the face. I also cut her hair down on the top. She had a huge amount of hair! I used the extra parts cut off to make her hair longer in the back to mirror Taylor's hair. I also used a marker to add dimension to the hair. I added detailing to her dress with my white Signo Uniball pen and added a ribbon so the little paper doll matches Taylor's outfit. The face is a Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids stamp. I colored in her eyes with the white pen and added chalk to her cheeks.

American Alphabet - I cut the rabbit at 3.50: and then cut his ears off to make the bunny ears for the little paper doll. I cut this twice - in pink and in white and pieced them together until I got the desired result.

Shall We Dance - The word "Dance" and its shadow cut at 1.25
The word "Recital" and its shadow cut at 1.50

Love You A Latte - Pink layer cut at 7.25 x 4
Green layer cut at 7.50 x 4
Again, I used my Gypsy to alter the shape on cut #7. It originally was more squared and I stretched it so my words would fit. I also hid the cupcake.

You can click on the photos to make them larger to see all the details

For this month, I also am still trying to finish my advent calendar so it will be all ready for next Christmas. I know many of you asked me to show pictures of the rest of the pages. I am still working on getting pages 19 - 25 done. Here are photos of pages 13 - 18. I will post the rest as soon as I get time to finish it.
Winter Frolic - Bird house
Winter Frolic - Christmas tree
Paper Trimmings - Peachy Keen Stamps - Snowman
Simply Charmed - PenguinWinter Woodland - SkateSimply Charmed - Santa

Your next stop will be at Lisa's blog where I am sure she will have something great to show you!

Happy Hopping!

Erica's Craft Room Scrapbook Saturday

Today is one of my favorite days to design for on Erica's Craft Room. Its Scrapbook Saturday and for this day, we are to create layouts. I really enjoy this because it pushes me to get some pages done. I really love this two page layout for a couple of reasons......I had some super adorable photos of my grandkids, Taylor and Kamdyn and these papers I bought from Michael's were wonderful to work with! The paper pack is Night and Fall by Recollections.

I used my Cricut Decals that came on the E2 to make the cute little stick figures. They were cut at 3.50 for the girl and 3.00 for the boy. The eyes were tough to layer so I used a brown Sharpie marker and then used Glossy Accents and it made it look as if there were tiny little google eyes added. I used my new favorite kid type font from Robotz to cut the words Fall Fun. The blue scallop was cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge. Finally I cut the bare tree from October 31. I wanted to emboss it using my Paper Studio wood grain embossing folder but I forgot to do it before I pop dotted it to the page.

Now you need to go visit Erica's blog at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/ to see more projects created by the design team!

Today's theme at Erica's Cricut Craft Room is Beach. I have a lot of photos still needing to be scrapbooked. They are all of our vacations to Anna Maria Island Florida. We love it there!

This layout was created using:

Cricut Essentials for the white doily - page 24
George for the patterned paper circle and the shadow behind it
Elegant Edges for the border - page 50
Life's A Beach - flowers and leaves - pages 34, 37 & 38

My Cricut Craft Room's November 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

My Cricut CraftRoom- http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

Today I have 3 projects to show you. The cartridges I chose for the hop are Sports Mania, Dude, Birthday Bash, Lacy Labels, and Sweet Treats.

My first project is a layout of my son on his dirt bike. The title Need for Speed was cut from the Sports Mania cartridge. The figure on the dirt bike came from Dude. The mat under the large photo was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

The next project was so fun to make! I wanted to try making one of those little tea light cakes. I cut a scalloped circle from George and then used my utility knife to cut several slits in the middle of it. That allowed me to slip the circle over the candle on the tea light. I also cut a small strip of coordinating paper and glued it around the tea light. Next, I used my Cuttlebug Quilled Chrysanthemum Kit to create tiny little flowers and glued them to the top of the cake using my Beacon 3 in 1 glue. I also added some extra glue and then sprinkled some glitter to give the appearance of frosting. I cut a little box (and I think it was from Tags Bags and Boxes but I apologize because I cant remember!). I added a square to two sides using my Gypsy so that the box would have little windows. I cut some plastic from the outer packaging that comes with our Cricut cartridges to put in the windows. The card was made using Lacy Labels for the shape around the cake. In order to make it a silhoutte from the shape, I used my Gypsy and layered two of the images, one sized at 3.94 and one sized at 3.00. I cut the cake from Sweet Treats and it was sized 3.35. All of the papers were from the DCWV Citrus stack.

The last project is also a card that I made for a super nice guy that worked on a computer that my mom bought at an auction. It was a fairly new computer but the company was required to remove the hard drive. He was kind enough to put in a new one and load all of the software for us. (he was our IT guy at my former place of employment). The card base was cut using the Birthday Bash cartridge and I cut it at 4". The patterned paper layer was also part of the card feature on this cartridge so I also set it to cut at 4 to make it fit. That cute little shape for the sentiment was cut from Lacy Labels (can you tell that this cartridge is a big favorite of mine?) I cut all of the pieces for this at 2.50. The Thanks was also cut from Lacy Labels but it was from a different shape on that cartridge. I added a Panera Bread gift card inside and added a hand written Thank You to Dan. I used Zots to stick the card to the inside flap.
Hope you liked my projects today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Next stop on this hop is Heather S http://operationcricutdesign.blogspot.com/
Please remember to stop by again tomorrow for the rest of the design teams projects.
