366 challenge-June.

A few days late with this months journal spread.  Feeling very patriotic, I used the Jubilee as my inspiration.

I coloured my pages with a soft pastel, using shades of blue in a random manner.
This was then painted over with gesso, which blends all the colours together.  I covered the letters for June with a paper napkin and sealed with acrylic wax.  'Bunting' shapes for my journalling were then stuck to the background once it was dry.

366 Challenge.

Keeping my journal up to date-just!!! I have started sewing again after having a time of not feeling creative, so my energies have been going in that direction.  I very rarely write as a feature on the background of my pages but decided to 'go for it' on my Gruffalo page, felt it just needed the verse to finish it off.
The colour for March has been inspired by all the sunshine and Spring flowers and of course with Easter this month had to have egg shapes for my journalling.  Painted pages with lemon and tangerine acrylic paint.  Stencilled with lime green. Added words again too!!

At last!!

I have been trying to find a place local to where I live to get some pictures of peacocks for my project.  Today, I was told of a farm local to me that had peacocks and more.  I have never seen so many different types of chickens in one place before.  AND, I got my much needed photos of the peacocks.
Last month, I didn't get to visit many journals in Kate Crane's 366 challenge, so, this month I have decided to view 10 on a daily basis, such lovely work being created, I don't want to miss it.

March journal pages.

My theme for this months page came about because it is World Book Day today.  The Gruffalo is a firm favourite with both my Grandsons and my children in class.
After applying gesso to the pages I then rubbed turquoise and green paint onto top.  A darker green was then sponged through one of my stencils before applying the images of the Gruffalo and mouse cut out from a paper napkin.  It is so lucky that I am a hoarder, because  I had a footprint stamp that Kezzy had when she was a little girl, which I used to stamp over the letters.  (It had come with a Barbie art set when she was about 6).  Back to journalling on plain squares this month.
I have kept my journal up to date as you can see.  Click on the link here to see the work of other journallers taking part in this challenge.

Love is in the air.

 January completed.
I went out of my comfort zone for February.  I like nice white squares for my journalling, but as this month is all about romance, I am going to try and work with the heats cut from an old music book.  The background was white acrylic paint which when dry, I coloured with walnut ink, the white was too stark against the aged music pages.  Flowers were made with a couple of heart punches.  The words love and February were cut on my cricut .  To see more journals hop along to Kates blog here.

A bit late this month.

I have had my mother staying with me the last few days of December, so I was late finishing off my December page.  When I started this challenge last year, I wasn't sure that I would be able to keep it up for the whole year.  I have, and its been fun seeing everyone's  work too!
I have tried journalling on different shapes but as I like to do little drawings  at time, I have found the shapes inhibit this, so this month its back to plain old squares. Inspiration came for this page while sitting at mums yesterday and her comment on it being a north wind blowing.  This bought to mind the rhyme 'The North wind doth blow, and we will have snow'.   I shall be adding this to the page when I am using the house computer/printer next time.
Pages coloured with brusho for a change.  Letters we painted with white acrylic before having puffpaint applied and heated to create 'snow'.  Quite a plain page this month after all the Christmas bling!
The 366 challenge has been set up by Kate Crane.  Click here to see more journals from everyone participating.
