Date nights do exist!

Cam and I had a fun night a few weeks ago attending his squadron formal up at Mt. Rushmore. What girl doesn't love an excuse to get all dolled up and see her man look extra fine and have the evening all to themselves without kids. Perfect!!!

Our Turn

Cam has taken turns taking each of his boys to a hockey game. Last week it was Cal's turn and since he kind of has to stay close to me I got to go too. And it might have had to do with our squadron all going. What ever the reason we had such a good time. I love watching sporting events live. It doesn't really matter which one as long as I am there in person competition rivets me. Although hockey does seem a little barbaric when they just let the players duke it out while the crowd cheers. Haven't we evolved????

ever growing Creed....

I still find it hard to believe that Creed is a little boy and not my sweet little toddler yet alone baby anymore. Being number 2 is always a little hard you always have to wait to do the things that the older sibling is doing or has done. Soccer has been no exception. One thing I miss about living in California was that the kids could start soccer at 4. Here they have to be 5. However, on the base they do have a Parent/kid based program for 3-5 year olds. Not nearly as cool as weekly games on the field, in fact Creed keeps asking when are we all going to come watch him play and run outside. Unfortunately that isn't until the last week. So until then he and Dad get to work on skills together inside. Its great for fundamentals but not for an almost 4 year old little boy who just wants to play.

5 months and counting......

This is how he has to sleep, blanket underneath and a corner to hug.

Love's being Daddy's little wingman

First Day of Rice cereal. Notice he already has control of the spoon. He has been waiting for this moment his whole life.

First time holding up his own bottle. Its pretty sad how self sufficient this kid is having to be.
I know I am getting obnoxious with my monthly posts about Callan. However this is my blog and I will write what I want. Plus I think the Grandmas like the updates!
Callan has had a very busy month being ignored. Poor baby I swear he spends most of his mornings and afternoons in his car seat. We are constantly on the go. Bless his heart he usually does this with minimal complaining too. However, once the big boys go to bed is when he seeks his time. He usually won't be satisfied without being held in the evening hours. Which is okay because I love my alone time with just him.
So Callan hasn't physically changed much, I know he has probably gained weight and grown taller but to me he seems the same. He is rolling over more from his front to his back. Not back to front yet. When he is on his tummy he tries to get his knees under him and rock. This is when I quickly scoop him up to try stop any action that is going to make him grow up faster than I want him too.
He has such gorgeous big eyes that are fading from its dark blue into more a chameleon hazel. Which is the color that both Cam and I have. I say chameleon because when he wears blue his eyes are more blue, wears green then his eyes look more green. Get the idea....
His smile is also very big and very flirtatious, he usually has a smile for everyone and his laugh is contagious. He is full on belly laughing and it truly makes us all so happy whenever we hear it. Callan is really recognizing people as well as words or phrases. Such as "splash splash" gets his body really rocking. Because he knows and loves his bath time. If I have to pass him off to anyone he already has brief bouts of separation anxiety. Mommas boy! ;)
No teeth, but I swear they are coming any day. He chews and slobbers on everything. He is dying for "people food" he complains whenever he sees us eating something. He will start to lick his lips or mimic our chewing motions with his own mouth. It is very sweet although somehow I can't help from feeling a bit cruel by denying him our food.
And although his sleeping isn't consistent he has been known to sleep 6-7 hours at least a few times a week. So progress is happening. YEA!! Unfortunately his brothers are making up for it by arising an hour to an hour and half earlier than normal. (my kids like to gang up on me)
