Sunny Days
We’ve enjoyed some fairly warm, sunny weather the last week or so. We tried to take advantage and did all sorts of fun things outside, including drawing a chalk train track on our driveway, going to a couple of parks, playing in the backyard, feeding the ducks (and almost being attacked by geese!) and going on walks. It all ended today with clouds and rain pretty much all day long, so I thought I would reminisce our sunny days since we don’t know when we’ll see them again!
I didn’t get pictures of most of the activities, but I did get a few.
Landon decided our tree stump was a good place to read a book, and Davis insisted he wear his new backpack outside. Can you tell we don’t get too much sunshine? Davis thought it was too sunny to go outside.
We went to one of our favorite parks – a pirate ship park in Lake Oswego. Now that Shane doesn’t work right by it, we probably won’t go as much, but it was fun to take lunch. Finally after almost two years, Landon has decided he likes to ride his bike (of course, it’s about too small now!)
Davis had fun pushing his little car around and riding on the turtle.
We found this little path that connected the park with another park. The boys had fun running and being silly along the trail.
Stay tuned Thursday to find out if we’ll be having a boy or a girl! (As long as the baby cooperates!)

Definitely Two
Davis, the day of his second birthday, had some new words:
“Do it”
He now says this all the time, even though he just started saying it two days ago when I was helping him get his boots on. He all of a sudden is Mr. Independent and wants to “do it” himself – get in the car seat, get up in his seat for dinner, take his clothes off, and even take off his diaper.
And today, when I told him no to something he wanted, he said “why?” He definitely learned that one from Landon. He’s gone from a “do-it” two-year-old to a “why” three-year-old in just two days.

Happy Birthday Davis!
Today is Davis’s 2nd Birthday. We celebrated in Ashland for the weekend with a quick trip for his birthday and Valentine’s day. Friday night, my parents watched the boys while we went to see the acclaimed movie Avatar. I must admit that I only went as a “gift” to Shane for Valentine’s Day (I was in charge of the festivities this year), but I enjoyed the movie and thought it was well done.
Playing the “pillow game” and chutes and ladders with Grandpa and Grandma while we were at the movie.
Saturday morning, we went to a Chinese New Year parade and celebration in Jacksonville. The boys had fun watching the dragons in the parade, except when one came and “charged” toward Landon and scared him to death. Davis liked to dance to the beat of the drum that came with the dragon, but both of their favorite parts was the big dragon blow up slide in front of the children’s museum.
Sitting watching the parade and the dragon that scared Landon. :)
Going on the dragon slide, and Davis coloring a Chinese calendar in the Children’s museum
We celebrated Davis’s birthday that evening by opening Davis’s gifts eating a yummy strawberry cake. My mom also had a couple fun Valentine’s activities for the boys, including marble painting some valentines and making valentine sugar cookies.
Davis with all his presents, and opening his new fire truck
His new Chick Hicks car and opening his race track
Seeing his Lightning McQueen backpack and playing with his new car puzzle
Opening his new dump truck
Landon reading his new Clifford phonics books in his Valentine’s Day package, and Davis eating some Valentine’s Day candy
Blowing out the candle and eating birthday cake
Marble painting valentines
Cutting out and decorating Valentine’s cookies

Potty Talk
Davis lately wants to sit on the potty. Still no results, but he sits on there a couple of times a day, usually when Landon is going. This morning, when I was getting him dressed, he said “pee potty,” so I let him go in there. He didn’t want to get off, so I left to do a few other things. When I came back, this is what I saw.
I have also been trying to get him to tell me when he is “stinky.” Today, while I was changing his stinky diaper, he was saying “mommy tinty (stinky)? NOOOO. Daddy tinty? NOOOO. Nienie (Landon) tinty? NOOOO. Doggy tinty? NOOOO. Da-is tinty? YES!”
Boy was he right! :)
