Our Garden

Here is what our garden looks like, so far. We're pretty excited at our first attempt at a garden. It is even doing pretty good planted in our hard Folsom soil. Most people around here plant their gardens in above ground boxes. We planted tomatoes, zuchinni, corn, peas, green beans, pumpkins, watermelon, jalapeno, cucumber & some herbs.

Here's what it looked like in the middle of May.

End of the School Year!

Here are pictures of the kids on the last day of school. I don't have any pictures of Tyler, so I guess I'll have to do a post about him later. Jordan and his fourth grade teacher Mr. Phillips.

Fathers & Sons Campout - 2009

This year's Father & Sons campout was held in the Sly Park Campground, on the lake front of Jenkinson Lake. It is a great campground. It was a fun and memorable evening. We were able to Bike Ride on the trails near Jenkinson Lake prior to nightfall. Fortunately, we were able to share tents with our friends from the other Ward. There were several Wards from our Stake camping.

Fortunately, Tyler did not get sick from eating too much Jello.

After the evening activites (fireside) commemerating the Restoration of the Priesthood, the boys decided to have a large "Capture the Flag" game with the Ward adjacent to our Campground(approximately 9:15pm).
At 9:30pm, Jordan was surrounded by several brethren attending to him. Jordan apparently tripped on a tree root and fell onto the pavement. He had two lacerations (chin & eye lid) and a large abrasion on his knee. We decided to take him into the ER (55 miles away) to get stitched up. Tyler stayed at Camp with our friends.

Finally at 3:45 am, Jordan was discharged.

Easter 2009

Here's the kids in their Easter outfits before church.I made the traditional Easter Bunny cake. (I even made miniture ones for my visiting teacher ladies).

The kids colored Easter eggs with out friends the Brizzees. We also started a new tradition and we all tye-dyed shirts. A little messy, but was fun!

Pinewood Derby

Here's some pictures from the pinewood derby. Jordan was the only "official" car, but Katelyn and Tyler made cars that raced in the "sibling" race. No one placed, but the kids had fun making the cars. In the top picture Jordan's car is the third from the left (the army jeep).

Roadshow-2009

Ashley and Tyler just finished performing in our wards Roadshow. They practiced weekly for 5 weeks and performed Thursday and Friday night. Ashley played "Sleeping Beauty" and Tyler was "Drowsy Dwarf" (I didn't get any pictures of Tyler). Loren helped build a growing beanstalk and I helped back stage. It was a lot of work but I think the kids had a lot of fun. The theme was "The Right Stuff" and our ward had a mix of storybook characters attending Camp Textaholic. Pinnochio had to find Sleeping Beauty's cell phone(it rang to the tune of "Choose the Right") so she would wake up.
