Clockwise: Angelo, Guy B, Sir Ari Gold, and SIRPAUL.

I thought about it, and couldn't figure out a better way to kick off the weekend than to feature four very hot men with some great songs. They are all handsome enough to get me to post pictures even if they weren't making music, but all four have music I love, and remains in my music collection. I will kick it off with a great music video from Angelo, the first of three artists based in New York City. I couldn't wait to see this video, the first from his full-length CD debut. I love the sexy 2012 release, and still play it. This is Angelo with "Narcissus Drowned", the title track from the 2012 CD.

For more about Angelo, visit his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and become a fan on ReverbNation. You can purchase "Narcissus Drowned" from iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon. for the second video, I offer you the amazing Guy B singing the title cut from his 2007 album. When I first heard the song, I immediately went out and purchased the album, and have been a big fan ever since. Guy is the lone non-New Yorker here, being based in Los Angeles. I recently heard he was heading back to the studio, and I was practically giddy. This is Guy B with music video for "Within Me".

For more about Guy B, visit his official ReverbNation page. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook. You can purchase "Within Me" from iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon. SIRPAUL is another of my New York artists I simply cannot resist. From the first time I heard his music, I've been a slave to SIRPAUL, and I still gladly serve at his feet. I love all his music, but today call up a song from his 2009 album, 'Objectified'. That album was all kinds of sexy, as you can hear in this track. This is SIRPAUL with the official music video for "Do U".

For more about SIRPAUL, visit his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook. You can purchase "Do U" from iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon. I close out this post with another yummy New Yorker, the delectable Sir Ari Gold. I've been a fan since his first album, and have eagerly purchased every one since. His music makes me a happier man, and I couldn't recommend it any higher. While there is plenty of excellent music to choose from, I reached back to one of my favorite tracks from the 2007 release, 'Transport Systems'. This is Sir Ari Gold with the official music video for "Where The Music Takes Me".

For more about Sir Ari Gold, visit his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook. You can purchase 'Transport Systems' on iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon. I hope this helped start your weekend with energy and fun!

Angelo • Words & Stones

Angelo photo Angelo_graysweatshirt_zps051e7fed.jpg

I find that whenever I hear Angleo is going to be releasing new music, I can't help but get exited. I've been enchanted by his music for some time, since first hearing great songs like "Terrible Heart" and "Hands Down". And it never hurt that he was quite the handsome singer, too. I mean, really, just look at that picture above here... But you don't see a picture while listening to the iPod, and where it really counted, I was in heaven when I listened. Well, earlier this week, he released a new EP and I couldn't wait to buy it.

Angelo - Last Man Standing photo AngeloLastManStandingCOVER_zps89ae5119.jpg

Such was the case when 'Words & Stones' come out on December 3rd, and I have been loving it ever since. It is an 8-track collection with four remixes of "Bring Me Down", and four new songs I hadn't heard before, but are now committed to memory! The music, wonderful ElectroPop/Dance grooves, are flirty, sexy, sweaty and soulful, everything you could want. Like clockwork, I start dancing in my chair, unable to control myself. Check out this first track on the EP, "Bring Me Down" (The Sanfernando Sound Radio Edit).

The remixes of "Bring Me Down" have their own flavor, like different levels of hot sauce. I do love the Radio Edit, it is pretty cool. The first of the other songs is "Prayer for Me", a bit darker is feel, kind of a smokey texture. It really makes me think of great music from Janet Jackson, like she should be hearing this, and recording it! "Flow Back" opens with a wonderful percussive feel, and has a bright and shimmering glaze. There is a real joy to this song, addressing love and opening your heart. The song seems to breath and grow, and become huge in sound. The next track, "Last Man Standing", features Raff, and the Brit and the New Yorker sound great together, and makes me want to hear more from them. But then again, I've never been able to satiate my thirst for Angelo's music. See for yourself, and listen to "Last Man Standing" featuring Raff.

There is something intrinsically sexy and real on "Without Me", equal parts Electro-Soul and Electro-Pop. It is like the sprinkles on top of your ice cream cone - sure, it would still be yummy if they weren't there, but given the choice, you 'd always ask for them, cause they make it that much better. The EP ends with "Bring Me Down" (The Sanfernando Sound Slow Down), which does just that, takes the tempo down to make it a soaring and soulful ballad. 'Words & Stones' is a great collection of songs from a very talented man. It seems like a great sound to have on your iPod when you are working out, or wanting to bliss out. I love it! You can purchase the 'Words & Stones' EP from iTunes and Amazon. While you are shopping, you can still find his wonderful album 'Narcissus Drowned' on iTunes and Amazon, too! Either or both would make a wonderful Christmas gift to others, to for yourself! For more about Angelo, check out his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter and like' him on Facebook.

Friday Mix-Up

It is Friday, the first official day of the weekend, so I thought I would post some fun remixes of great songs by artists I truly respect. A couple of these picks are surprising nuggets, while others are bound to get you shakin' your booty, which is never a bad thing. I picked these four songs and artists to show what a wonderful array of music is being made by gay men. All four songs are very different, and the same could be said about the artists. I will begin with one of those 'surprises', Casey Stratton. While it might be unexpected from people who are more used to Casey's more emotive/expressive music, I will admit I have a collection of remixes, which kinda inspired this post. I am absolutely crazy for Casey's "Opaline (Clandestine Mix)", which appears on his 'Altered States: Remixes Volume One' album.

You can find 'Altered States Remixes Volume One" in Casey's official Online Store. There are plenty of other great songs for you to enjoy. Next up, I decided to go with Los Angeles-based B.Slade with a great track from his 'Deep Purple' album. I find there is something so subtle and sweet about "2 GET 2 (Hookah Lounge Mix)", yet at the same time it has a sexy feel, too. The song can be found on the 2012 album, 'Deep Purple', which quickly became a favorite of mine.

You can purchase 'Deep Purple' on B.Slade's BandCamp page, iTunes, or Amazon. For the next song, I thought I would through in another artist you might not traditionally associate with Dance music. Singer/songwriter came to the attention of many when he released his first music video, "End of the World", in 2009. The song is beautiful and expansive, part Chamber music, and part Pop Icon. The song was featured on the album 'Hide Nothing', an enchanting collection. Last year, he released 'Constant Crows', a much more personal, intimate collection. But he also worked on a couple of song with Saul Ruiz, both updates of some great classic songs. One of those was the Fleetwood Mac song "Dreams", written by Stevie Nicks. Ruiz gave it a new feel with the mix, and used the strength of Alber's voice perfectly. Enjoy listening to Saul Ruiz featuring Matt Alber on "Dreams (Original Mix)".

You can purchase Saul Ruiz's "Dreams (Original Mix)" featuring Matt Alber on iTunes or Amazon. Last year, the handsome and talented Angelo released a great new album, 'Narcissus Drowned'. One of the songs featured on the album was released in 2011 as a single, with several remixes available. There is so much strength and power on Angelo's "Hands Down (Famuel Remix)", I found it irresistible. It gets me up and on my feet every time I hit play, smiling and moving in the Studio 54 in my head.

You can purchase Angelo's "Hands Down (Famuel Remix)" on iTunes or Amazon. You can also purchase 'Narcissus Drowned' on iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby.

Chezdune • Here With Me (feat Angelo)

Chezdune Here With Me photo ChezduneHereWithMe585_zps9ed9ee30.jpg

I think listening to the golden voice of Angelo is a great way to start any day, like today. Here is a brand new single from Chezdune, "Here With Me". The song features vocals from the wonderfully talented Angelo, a voice I never tire of hearing. The collaboration is a great one, for I love this song. It puts me in mind of the great George Michael material from the late 1980s and early 1990s, with a timeless stamp. Maybe it is the synth-driven sound, or the sexy feel, but I can't get enough of this single. Give a listen and tell me what you think!

To get your own copy of "Here With Me", go to Chezdune's SoundCloud page HERE, and click on the 'DOWNLOAD' button. To learn more about Chezdune, you can visit his official website, 'follow' him on Twitter, or 'like' him on Facebook. To learn the latest news about Angelo, you can visit his official website, 'follow' him on Twitter, or 'like' him on Facebook. I am still loving Angelo's album 'Narcissus Drowned', which can be found on iTunes and Amazon.

My Dance Party

Gavin-Creel-2 Christopher Dallman Angelo
Kris Searle SIRPAUL featuring Candy Apple Blue
Clockwise: Gavin Creel; Christopher Dallman; Angelo; SIRPAUL featuring Candy Apple Blue; and Kris Searle.

Well, since I figured out I wasn't going to Philadelphia to see Jay Brannan, I decided to make up a post that was music I might very well be dancing to at home tonight. I would of course include artists seen here on the blog before, that are in regular rotation on my playlists. And as you can see from the pictures above, they are all delicious eye-candy, just waiting to be nibbled on. But mostly, they are amazing artists I also seem to return to when I want to be moved. And they are all independent musicians, working to not only make great music, but trying to promote it on their own. I will start with a talented Broadway veteran whose most recent album, Get Out, remains a favorite of mine. That would include a great song that immediately grabbed my attention, "Whitney Houston".

You can purchase Gavin's Get Out album on iTunes and Amazon. Christopher Dallman writes such personal and honest songs, I can always find a song that will match a mood I am in. In fact, I can usually find several. But I wasn't expecting a dance track, but when DJ Radboy got hold of Chris' marriage equality single "Anthem", I found a great one. So enjoy "Anthem", the Radboy Radio Edit.

You can find a FREE Download Radboy's remix of Christopher Dallman's "Anthem" SoundCloud. Now, Angelo is positively edible in every one of his pictures, but don't let that fool you. His music combines honesty and pain, often wrapped in a jacket ready to go to the club. I absolutely love his latest album, Narcissus Drowned. There is plenty of great music on it, including a bonus track, "Time Bomb" (RAC Remix).

You can purchase Angelo's Narcissus Drowned album on iTunes and Amazon. Somewhere in a musical laboratory, you will find a beaker that combines the chemicals for Electronica and the ones for great Pop music, and you will find a label that simply says SIRPAUL. I've been a fan for some time, and have been thrilled to see constant evolution in his music, always sounding not only current, but just ahead of Pop. I loved the album Music & Me, and one of the singles off the album was "Mistaken", This is one of the wonderful remixes, featuring the talented Candy Apple Blue. Together, they make some incredible music.

You can purchase SIRPAUL's "Mistaken" remix featuring the talents of Candy Apple Blue on iTunes and Amazon. Finally, I will listen to a song from a British transplant making a home for himself in Los Angeles. Kris Searle is making music that combines the UK aesthetic with a growing American one, making interesting tunes. One of those is "Falling For Your Light", a single that really grabbed me, and continues to do so.

You can purchase Kris Searle's single "Falling For Your Light" on iTunes and Amazon. These are some incredible talents, all who would be grateful for your support by purchasing their music. If you do, the joy when you hit play on your iPod will quadruple the return on the investment.

Shout hallelujah, Angelo has released his video for "Narcissus Drowned"! The sexy singer/songwriter takes London by storm, dancing his way through Soho. Catch him waking up and getting out of bed, dancin' in the streets, and enjoying friends in the club in the new video for the title song off the Narcissus Drowned album.

If you haven't made the Narcissus Drowned album a part of your collection, you can purchase it from iTunes or Amazon. For more about Angelo, check out his official website. You can also find him on Twitter and Facebook.

Angelo • Narcissus Drowned Released!

Angelo - Narcissus Drowned
Angelo - Narcissus Drowned Angelo - Narcissus Drowned Angelo - Narcissus Drowned

It is finally here, the release of Angelo's album Narcissus Drowned! The title itself is can be found in the story of the striking Greek God who was so entranced by his own beauty reflected in a still pond, he lost himself in the pond, never realizing he gave his heart to himself. Now that I finally get a chance to hear the music as a whole, and not just a few singles and remixes I've had over the past year, I am thrilled with it. Indeed, well worth the wait, but with Angelo, I didn't expect any less. And after a short track that is a kind of forward, we jump into the title track, Narcissus Drowned. We begin the story, as our hero descend to the darkness of the water, drifting slowly away from the light.

That is followed by the song Keep Calm. In it, there is a certain sexy urgency in the guitar riff that starts off the song, massaged in by whisper Angelo uses in the opening.

From the first note, Hands Down has a buoyancy and joy, and it revels in a sensuality of the music. The fourth track is Time Bomb, which is a sustained seduction, a flirtation, trying to call you to the dance floor.

That is followed by Sinner & the Saint, one of my favorites on the album, a dance track with a sexy sound with a call and response almost gospel in intent. that is followed by Terrible Heart, is a heart-wrenching ballad, a story that would be a tragedy in the theater. As our Narcissus searches for himself, he just wants to Go'head and get down on the dance floor. He's looking for a dance, not a date that could complicate his search... That leaves us with three remixes, interesting yet different visions of the tales already told. We have a chance to give a listen to Narcissus Drowned (Requiem), Time Bomb (Rac Remix), and Sinner & the Saint (Buffetlibre Remix).

More Great Singles from 2011

David Geftakys

Clockwise: David Geftakys, Angelo, Cassidy Haley, Darryl Stephens, and Brian Kent.

This afternoon, I will be talking about another group of talented musicians who put out fantastic singles in 2011. It was such a great year for music, and these singles are shining examples of that. These might not be songs you are hearing on Pop radio, but if I were hearing them there, I might listen to the radio more often.

I first heard of David Geftakys when David Raleigh told me I should check out his video. I always will follow the advice of musicians, for they rarely steer me wrong. Well, I hit play on YouTube, I was pretty much a goner. That first song was his single this year, Games We Play. It has so much charm, and such a great melody line, I think it is a total winner. I also downloaded a previous release, Lines In My Hand, which I also love.

You can purchase Games We Play on iTunes and Amazon.

Funny enough, I first discovered Angelo and his music when I found his "It Get's Better" video on YouTube. Hey, here is a good-looking, out and proud man, so being the curious sort, I sought out his music, and found that it was quite good! I love his most recent single, Hands Down, and I think if you give it a listen, you would love it too.

You can purchase Hands Down on iTunes and Amazon.

I discovered the music of Brian Kent through Rich Overton of RJO Artists, who has represented so many talented people, I pay attention when he is involved. Brian has put out some great music in the last few years, like Breathe Life. This year, he had a new single, and it was all kinds of fun! Watch the video directed by Mike Ruiz for Su-Su-Su-Superstar, the latest from Kent.

You can purchase Su-Su-Su-Superstar on iTunes and Amazon.

There was a bit of buzz circulating around about the music of Cassidy Haley when Adam Lambert was on American Idol. I decided to check it out, and discovered that I really love Haley's music. He has a great blend of Rock and Pop, showing off the darker side of soul. Did I forget to mention he is also gorgeous and gay? Well, he is. You can make the call for yourself when you watch his video for This Time, released earlier this year. The song is from his 2010 album, The Fool.

You can purchase This Time on iTunes and Amazon.

I first became familiar with Darryl Stephens when he played the lead in the television series and subsequent movie, Noah's Arc. I loved the show, and was also happy to see him get other work in movies, for he is quite talented. Well, sometime this year he mentioned he was about to release a song he had written, and my interest was piqued. When Envious Moon came out, I bought it, and was quite impressed, not only for his writing skills, but his singing, too. Seems Darryl has talent in many different areas, and I hope we get to see/hear his musical bent a bit more. Here is the video for Envious Moon.

You can purchase Envious Moon on iTunes.

Torchwood • Miracle Day • The Blood Line

Torchwood - Miracle DayTorchwood - Miracle Day

Tune to STARZ at 10PM tonight for the season finale of Torchwood: Miracle Day, staring John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Mekhi Phifer, Alexa Havins, Bill Pullman and Lauren Ambrose. The episode is titled The Blood Line, and as the season winds down, one can only hope the various story lines are brought to a conclusion. For me, I hope whatever the conclusions, there is a little Captain Jack time for fightin', and time for lovin'.

I am still reeling from Jack's relationship with Angelo, the Italian immigrant. Their steamy scene in the Immortal Sins episode. From the sexiness of the voyeuristic verbal foreplay to the post-sex getting to know one another. With Angelo passed away, I am not sure we get to see Captain Jack in action in the season finale, but one can always hope for another chance to see John Barrowman naked.

It Gets Better - Angelo

Photobucket

"Be patient and tough; some day this pain will be useful to you." That is something New York City singer Angelo tells himself all the time, quoting Ovid. To be honest, I just found Angelo through this project, and now that I saw his video, and listened to some of his music, I think it won't be the last time. And I like what he has to say in this video.

If you are someone, or know someone who might be feeling the effects of prejudice and bullying, here is the website for The Trevor Project. They have set up a hotline that can be reached at (866)488-7386. Share the number with those how you think might benefit, because the teenage years are hard enough without the additional issues discovering you are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, and the pain inflicted on those youth by people with small minds.
