Brett Ratner to receive a GLAAD Award?

Did I read this correctly?

Ratner will receive an award at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards for being an ally. He is also doing a Video Campaign for them as well.
During the ceremony, GLAAD will also premiere the "Coming Out for Equality" public-service announcement campaign directed by Ratner.
"I have long been a supporter of equal rights for everyone," Ratner said of the campaign and award. "So, when [GLAAD president] Herndon [Graddick] and the folks at GLAAD asked me to partner with them on this PSA campaign, I jumped at the opportunity. I have always been an admirer of GLAAD. They do meaningful and effective work in the fight to secure equality for everyone and I am very humbled that they are honoring me with this Ally Award."
Last year, he used the word fag during an interview. He got hit hard over that, however Brett has been working to get back in our good graces.

But should he get an award? I'm not sure about that.

Interesting Quote: Christopher Barron

I am incredibly disappointed that Ratner gave into the bullying of GLAAD. Ratner should never have penned the ridiculously over-the-top apology letter that he did (or should I say sign the ridiculous letter that was clearly written by GLAAD’s PC communications department). Instead of agreeing to be sent to GLAAD’s re-education camp, Ratner should have stood up to the gay Gestapo. He apologized for what he said, he admitted it was stupid, and agreeing to become the latest pawn in GLAAD’s never-ending ideological warfare is akin to negotiating with terrorists. Every time Ratner or another Hollywood idiot gives into GLAAD, they are simply encouraging GLAAD to continue its partisan jihad.

Before GLAAD or anyone else on the gay left get to hold others accountable, they should be forced to hold themselves accountable. GLAAD should be forced to live by the standard it expects the rest of the world to live by.

Chris thinks GLAAD is the bully and Brett Ratner is the victim.

Now Eddie Murphy drops out of the Oscars?

What's this? Eddie Murphy drops out now? For what?
Murphy has withdrawn as the host, according to a statement released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

“I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well,” Academy President Tom Sherak said in a statement.

Late Tuesday, Ratner exited his job as executive producer of the awards ceremony after a firestorm erupted when he used a gay slur during a public screening of his film “Tower Heist” (which co-stars Murphy). He later apologized, though eventually was ousted as producer of the Oscars.

“First and foremost, I want to say that I completely understand and support each party’s decision with regard to a change of producers for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony,”

Murphy said in a statement. “I was truly looking forward to being part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I’m sure the new production team and host will do an equally great job."
So he's doing this to support his friend? Seriously Eddie, that didn't help your career. He may be playing animated donkeys forever.

WATCH: Brett Ratner say “Rehearsal's for fags.” UPDATE He's OUT of the Oscars!

UPDATE!
Because of his foolishness, Brett has been kicked to the curb.
Director Brett Ratner is out as Oscar producer, a source close to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tells The Hollywood Reporter. The source says a decision has been made and the Academy will make an announcement shortly.

Calls to the Academy were not returned.

Ratner had been named as the producer of the 2012 Academy Awards show, but he has been under fire for making a series of ill-judged remarks in recent days, including saying "rehearsal is for fags" and discussing his sex life with Howard Stern.

You can start at the 2:40 mark

That didn't set well folks, so he released this apology:
“I apologize for any offense my remarks caused. It was a dumb way of expressing myself. Everyone who knows me knows that I don’t have a prejudiced bone in my body. But as a storyteller I should have been much more thoughtful about the power of language and my choice of words.”
This could hurt him as the producer of this year’s Oscars. Only time will tell.

Liefeld + Ratner + Youngblood = I don't give a F**K

Brett Ratner is heading up a big screen version of Youngblood, a 90s comic that was somewhat lost and forgotten in the big world comic book.

But why Youngblood? Who's screaming for Youngblood?

Anywho, Brett has someone in mind for the lead character:
"Definitely [Robert Pattinson] from 'Twilight,'" Ratner told MTV News when asked if he has his eye on any potential "Youngblood" actors at this point.

"He just feels like he belongs in that world. I don't only see him as a vampire, he's a really good actor."

"[Pattinson] could do anything. He just has that look," said Ratner. "I picture him on Youngblood, for sure." "My vision for it is: We're going to make a very edgy, cool film," explained Ratner. "We're not soft-peddling it at all."

You said something similar about X-Men and look how that turned out. But it's Youngblood, so surely this will be MORE forgettable after it's done.
Youngblood, really?

WHAT IF Bryan Singer never left X-Men 3?

As some of y'all can tell, my heart was broken with X-Men 3. Brett Ratner ruined this for me and although it's been about 3 years, I'm still bitter about this.

But today, I thought about how it would've been if Bryan Singer would've stayed, instead of leaving for Superman Returns.

For Bryan, it was a opportunity of a lifetime to do a Superman movie. However, if he stayed on the X-Men this is how it would've turned out.

Jean Grey would have returned. The White Queen would have been introduced and use her powers to control Jean. Magneto takes notice and also tries to gain control of Jean with the White Queen's help. But their meddling causes Jean to lose control and go all Dark Phoenix. Overwhelmed by her powers, Jean makes Cyclops kill her, but her spirit survives and becomes a "Phoenix".

No Morlocks.
No "Cure".
No Twink ass Angel.
No overarching plotlines.

Just a story, a different story, but a better story than the mess we got.
It also hurts, really hurts, to know that if Joss Whedon was free from the Wonder Woman debacle, he could've directed the movie.

Ugggh!
