Rock Lineup

more lineless practice in photoshop.
I always thought that flat graphic look was really cool.
I'm terribly slow at it though... it probably comes with time.

Look Ma! No lines!

Here's some lineless practice, using binsybaby's technique. She posted a neat little video showing her work process, and I wanted to give it a shot. Still trying to get the hang of it, but it's neat to know how it's done:

CHYEAAAH, nowhere near her level, but works better than all the other lineless methods I've tried. The secret: Lasso tool! ooooh aaaah.

just for fun

Just a photoshop doodle. trying to find a comfortable painting style.

hey, this is the first art-oriented blog that I've been pretty consistent with! (:
Usually I say I'm going to do daily posts and then end up posting every 6 months.
Hopefully this one will be different.

daaarr so many other things to do. for now it's: organize my room (eek ._.), start building a children's book illustration portfolio, work on animating, wait for news.
BTW for those who applied to Disney, I gave them a nervous call yesterday and they said that they're running late with the selection process, so they will probably let people know next week. So...yea.

Texture Practice again!

There is only about 3? weeks left of school....and considering how much I have left to do, I should be at my 90% stress level right now...eek.

But I just finished submitting stuff for an internship so I just can't get into the work-like-mad-and-get-it-done zone. I spent class working on more texture practice today:

Bark this time. I walked around a few weeks earlier just taking pictures of random textures. There's something about this one though...I think maybe it's just the brush settings I have but the color seems a bit desaturated. Also, it's not...jagged...enough. ah well.

Attempting to work!

ha. everything looks better when it's smaller!

Waves!

I guess I'm trying to be more consistent in these art exercises...the second exercise in 3 days, that's practically a record for me. really trying to improve.

Some more painter practice....this one took way too long (look! I even made a note of how it took Way Too Long) It took me 2 -3 hours, though I was randomly distracted by Project Runway and the Food Network.

Decided to try waves/water today:

could definitely use some work, but I'm pretty satisfied for an exercise.

I want to do more texture practice, but I also have a sketchbook project in mind....we'll see.

G'night

Instead of catching up on homework like I should be doing, I spent the last 20 minutes working on this:

crappy.
but I'm trying to get more painter practice in. I'm really rusty when it comes to this stuff, so I figure random doodling will start me down the right path.

Cannot. Focus.
might as well go to bed...?
