Scenes from the cultural festival part II

A second batch of photos from Kulturfestivalen. The girls in the second photo did what only teenage girls can do. Show up early for the best seats in the house. Or in this case close to the stage at Gustav Adolfs torg in front of the opera house where the band they were waiting to see did a soundcheck. In the third photo you can see Riksdagshuset. The Parliament building at Helgeansholmen. The Norrbro bridge and the area close to the water slowly filled up with people enjoying food and drinks. And that is where I took the rest of the photos.

Nostalgia

I'm sure my mother read this to me and my brother when we were a bit younger than we are today. Hattstugan by Elsa Beskow. As seen at the combined Farmers market/ flea market at Katarina Bangata on Södermalm in Stockholm earlier this Summer.

Commuting

Commuting should count as travelling I think. I took this photo in the Stockholm Metro system on Saturday. At some point I will start a photo project here as the underground is known as the longest art gallery in the world. On this day my commute was short, just the one station from T-Centralen to the Rådhuset station for an appointment. And then back one hour later.

Glass facade

Panorama from nine photos, shot with my Canon mirrorless, with the 85mm lens. I first tried to stitch them together with Lightroom. Fail. Flaws everywhere. Then I tried Photoshop. Fail. Flaws all over the place. Then I tried both Gemini and ChatGTP. Fail. Flaws non-stop. And then I tried the 2015 version of the long since cancelled software Microsoft ICE, and it stitched the photos together without any big mistakes in under 30 seconds. Go figure.

The climbing park

I walked up the Hammarbybacken hill again. On this day the schools had just started after the Summer break, and the hill was filled with screaming kids and their teachers trying out everything at offer here, including this climbing park.

My first visit to the old tre since late May. A fine Summer day.

Name that dance

Unfamiliar with these moves. Could be something from Pulp Fiction, maybe. This is the Minister for Justice, Gunnar Strömmer to the right. Not sure who his dance partner is.

Dolly Parton RIP

The guy from the LP store Vinylshop at Urvädersgränd paying his respect to Dolly Parton. Two people stopped as I took the photo. One of them hadn't heard the news and he was visibly upset.

United for the climate

Fifty thousand people, (at least), took part in the Climate Rally in Stockholm on Saturday. Greta Thunberg was there of course. As was her organisation Friday's For Future, and 279 other groups. They walked across the city to Gustav Adolfs torg. I joined them here and there in between short bike rides so that I could photograph them at different places. It took the crowd four hours to pass by Sergels torg. More photos in my Flickr album, United for the climate.

Rebellmammorna

Massive climate rally in Stockholm yesterday. They started at Vasaparken. I followed then with my camera from Sveavägen via Sergels torg to Gustav Adolfs torg. 280 different organizations took part. As many as 80 000 people out on the streets. Plus all the onlookers. Rebellmammorna XR Sverige, seen here at Sergels torg were one of those groups. Our general election takes place two weeks from now. The climate have not been discussed enough, hence this demonstration. Still going through my photos from this huge event. More photos tomorrow.

AI fail of the day

As an AI challenge I asked Gemini to identify what this photo shows. It told me that it was the Nobel building in the old town at Stortorget 18. Which it is not.

What are we waiting for?

A passenger aboard the M/S Västan at Strömkajen on Blasieholmen in Stockholm looks eager to get out on the water. It was a fine day for that sort of thing.
