Verizon Sponsoring Anti-Climate Rally Backed By Coal Giant Massey Energy

On Labor Day, tens of thousands of people will be gathering for the coal-powered “Friends of America Rally” in Holden, WV. The point of the gathering is to rail against the Waxman-Markey clean energy legislation. It will feature right-wing guests such as Sean Hannity and Ted Nugent (who once ranted about killing Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton), and is being pushed by mountaintop-removal mining company Massey Energy. Last week, Massey CEO Don Blankenship even recorded a video inviting people to attend the rally, saying they would learn about how “environmental extremists and corporate America are both trying to destroy your jobs.” Watch it:

Jesse Ventura Challenges Hannity On Waterboarding: "I'll Get Him To Say Obama Is The Greatest President"

Marcus Baram

Jesse Ventura, the former Minnesota governor and presidential candidate, vows that if he waterboarded Sean Hannity, he'd get the right-wing Fox News host to say that "Barack Obama is the greatest president."

In an interview with Huffington Post, Ventura reiterated his opposition to the use of waterboarding, which he himself experienced as part of his training as a Navy SEAL, and other forms of enhanced interrogation, expressed skepticism about Obama's national security strategy, and revealed his strategy for his appearances on Fox News............

i don't understand it

for 8 big whole LONG painful years, the party who wants LESS government has been spitting on the constitution, spying on us (without warrants), lying to us, not assisting us after natural disasters, allowing big bid-nez to rule the roost (you see where THAT has taken us), sending our men and women into battle for NO cause, passing laws which allow our earth to be destroyed, NOT passing laws which protect our earth, NOT passing laws which will allow testing to protect human beings, suppressing women's rights oh you know the story. i'll stop now because i COULD go on forever

and THIS dude (who i believe admitted he is an adulterer) has the nerve to say our country is NOW headed to a dictatorship? that takes some GIANT EFFING STONES. oh snap!

Gingrich: 'Liberal fascists' moving us towards 'political dictatorship'
David Edwards and Stephen C. Webster
President Barack Obama has been in office just over three months, yet former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is already forecasting a looming "political dictatorship."

In a televised interview with Fox editorialist Sean Hannity on March 25, Gingrich cited Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism as reference for what he sees Democrats in Congress and the White House pushing for.

"I think [Goldberg] ought to reissue it as sort-of an introductory guide to how the left is thinking this year," said Gingrich. "We are seeing the biggest power grab by politicians in American history.

"... The idea that they would propose the Treasury can intervene and take over non-bank, non-financial system assets, gives them the potential to basically create a dictatorship. You don't do what they want, they take over your company.......

just so you can see the comparisons

i work for a very well known big international financial / insurance company. by the way, it's doing well considering all that's going on.

the executives in the americas AND europe (and asia and elsewhere) are NOT getting their bonuses this year. oh, don't get me wrong, i know they're compensated wicked good. but still, NO bonus (we all-you know the commoners- got our incentive payouts this year BUT they were tiny. i do mean tiny. none of us got a raise though. no commoners no execs)

so flush, you CAN bite down on a big one for defending aig. a big ol' eff you (again)

Limbaugh joined by other conservatives standing up for AIG against "mob rule"

In the wake of Rush Limbaugh's defense of American International Group (AIG) on his March 16 and March 17 broadcasts, several conservative media figures -- including Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck and Fox News contributor and syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin -- have joined him in condemning criticism of the company's employee retention bonuses. In a March 18 post to his Washington Post Co. blog, Greg Sargent cited Limbaugh's and Hannity's comments in reporting that while "GOP Congressional leaders have roundly condemned AIG and its executives, as part of a strategy to position themselves as heroic defenders of the taxpayers and to paint the Obama administration as weak and ineffectual ... increasingly, leading conservative media figures are moving in a different direction: Defending AIG."

As Media Matters for America noted, on his March 17 broadcast, Rush Limbaugh -- "a great leader for conservatives" -- declared, "A lynch mob is expanding: the peasants with their pitchforks surrounding the corporate headquarters of AIG, demanding heads. Death threats are pouring in. All of this being ginned up by the Obama administration." On March 16, Limbaugh challenged a caller who opposed the bonuses.........

Fox News Is Using the Obamas to Perfect Its Racist Attacks on Black America

By Tolu Olorunda, The Black Commentator.

"… The matter is that, when Bill O'Reilly gets Juan Williams, the eternal happy Negro, on his show to congratulate him on his racism, that's like Hugh Hefner getting a stripper to come on the show and tell him that he's not a sexist.” --Syracuse University Professor Boyce Watkins, on CNN (Sept. 26, 2007).

"Over 600,000 people of every color across the country are demanding that Fox stop their racist attacks on the Obama family and on black America. We already know that Fox is not a news network ... Fox poisons this country every time they air racist propaganda and try to call it news." -- Hip-hop artist Nas, with ColorOfChange.org, upon delivering boxes with more than 600,000 anti-Fox News signatures at the network's headquarters.

Very few readers are shocked to hear that Fox News hates the first family, and black people in general. Over the years, but most intensely within the last two, the Roger Ailes-controlled cesspool has unabashedly spewed, propagated and transmitted the most repugnant lies ever heard about President Barack Obama, his family and background.

Readers might recall that it was Fox News which first put out the lie, perhaps giddily, that Obama was schooled in a madrassa -- with the intimation that being so, though untrue, is akin to one blemished with the mark of the beast.

It is also Fox News which has consistently supported such unashamed bigots like Don Imus and Duane "Dog" Chapman. With this backdrop, Fox News has successfully set a record for being the only TV network willing to go as far as the unthinkable suggests -- in favor of accruing ratings.

With the mainstream appeal of Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, the cable channel has quickly become a leading voice in public discourse. In the last few years, responsible readers have come to realize that, when applied to Fox News, Stan Lee was wrong to think that "with great power comes great responsibility."..........

Billy Ray Cyrus, Others, To Perform At Hannity 'Freedom' Concerts

Jason Linkins

So, it's come to my attention that Sean Hannity is sponsoring a series of "Freedom Concerts," tickets for which would make "perfect Christmas gifts," apparently, for everyone on your Christmas list of whom you have a low opinion. Billy Ray Cyrus will headline these events, and will be supported by country music legends The Charlie Daniels Band, Christian-contemporary performer Michael W. Smith, sun-ripened beef jerky husk Lee Greenwood, and Oliver North, who will, I guess, be playing a Moog accompaniment to "the Whitey tape." The concerts are in support of...freedom? I guess? Though probably the "supplies are limited some restrictions apply void where prohibited (cf. Prop 8 for further details)" brand of "freedom."

Naturally, one wonders about whether Billy Ray Cyrus' decision to join up on this tour might negatively impact the career of daughter Miley Cyrus, who's more positioned as a global brand, and who produces spastic and apolitical pop marm. Might Billy Ray's actions alienate a significant portion of Miley's fanbase?...........

Hannity channels The Onion? Claims "liberal" Halloween "teach[es] kids to knock on other people's doors and ask for a handout"
On the October 31 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, co-host Sean Hannity claimed that "Halloween is a liberal holiday" and "is teaching our kids to be liberals." Hannity explained that "we're teaching kids to knock on other people's doors and ask for a handout." Co-host Alan Colmes responded by asking if that meant that Christmas is a "liberal holiday." Colmes asserted that Halloween represents "the act of giving," and asked: "Isn't that a Christian thing, to give, to share with your community?" Hannity replied: "Not to teach your kids to beg for a handout."..........

(there is video at the link above. yes, he REALLY said it and yes, he REALLY meant it)
