Family Pictures

A few weeks ago my brother did our family pictures (with the help of his cute wifey). I LOVE THEM! We were supposed to do them in Kolob, but the night before it snowed up there and I just didn't want to have Ava purple lipped again in our pictures, so we ended up at the opera house in town and I am so happy with them.
When we uploaded them to Flickr it changed the coloring, but I still think they turned out great. Here are some of my favorites.

Part 3 (Final)

Saturday was misty and cold, but we hadn't been to the beach yet so we hopped in the car and drove about 5 minutes to get there.

The kids were in regular clothes because I thought they would be too cold to want to put on their swimsuits. So they both ended up getting soaked in the regular clothes. We had already checked out of our hotel which was NOT good because they had to sit all soggy for two hours on the way to Gma Mary's.

On the way to Gma's house we stopped to see the San Diego Temple~ It was SOOO pretty!

After getting the sand off the kids we enjoyed visiting and relaxing with Gma.

The next morning we went to church with her before heading back home. We were so glad that we got to spend some time with her. She just turned 95! Doesn't she look great!

It was a great trip, the weather was perfect, and we had SO much fun!

Oh and look at the car that was next to us on the freeway! HA!

Part 2

The next day we headed to San Diego! We had a surprise in store for Nathan. Our first stop was the Mormon Battalion museum. It was so cool. One of Tyler's Great-Great-Great Grandpas was a Sergeant in the army.

At one of the stops Nathan got to dress up in the gear the members wore and hold a 6 1/2 foot gun.

He loved it. The kids also got to pan for gold.

After stopping for lunch we took the kids to our surprise- The USS Midway!!!

Nathan was speechless.  It is the longest serving aircraft carrier in U.S. History. It is a museum now, but was the first one commissioned after WWII- and it only took 18 months to build! It was pretty incredible. We got to go on all these levels of the ship (we skipped the captains bridge because Ava was a little too short, and we were cold and tired). There was an audio tour too so it was all explained to us. I kept getting really claustrophobic in all the tight (hot) spaces below deck, so we moved quickly.
Look at the kids pictures in the next two pictures. Ha! Such little goofballs.

Nathan and Tyler also got to do a flight simulation, and Tyler threw in a few barrel rolls.

On the flight deck that had lots of planes to check out. You could actually get inside a few.

After seeing everything we wanted to we grabbed a pizza, went to the hotel, and then soaked in the hot tub before bed.
