Christmas Stockings

And two more items off my thirty day list. Twenty-one and Twenty-two Ok, my thirty projects in thirty days ends tomorrow. Obviously, this is not a success story. But still, there are twenty-two items done. The glass is half full! Finished these last two yesterday. Pressed, Steamed and ready to go. These were not hard, just time consuming. Why didn't I make them last January? Found these little beads for the tree trunks. And these tiny little jingle bells. And a bigger jingle bell at the hanger. Plastic rings, crocheted around for the hangers. All made out of the "Stash" It pays to be a hoarder. It pays to be a hoarder. It pays to be a hoarder. C'mon, sing it with me people!

The Great Candy Cane Rescue

Disclaimer: Pay no attention to the dirt, junk, mess, etc. in the background of any of these pictures. It has been a hectic Christmas season...well the whole year has been crazy. As told by the candy canes themselves. So, here we are, we have been abandoned. You bought us all shiny and new at your local discount store. You brought us home, so proudly displayed us in your yard. We were shiny. We lined your walkway and held up little lights. Then, You got tired of us, we didn't shine any longer, we even FROZE in the ground and some of us broke! And then... You sold us at a yard sale! or donated us to Goodwill.. or the even worse fate... YOU THREW US IN THE DUMPSTER!!! But thanks to some enterprising, kind-hearted crafters, we have been saved. They take this nice, warm cotton fabric and wrap us up nice and cozy. The glue gun hurts a little, But then we get decorated with some lovely reds and greens. Ouch! They seal up our ends. But then a nice cozy wrap. Spinning, spinning, spin...

Caterpillers, Graduation and more yard work.

Kendall will be one year old tomorrow, how fast that year has gone.  Shelby is having a theme party...a big party.  I got the bright idea for these little guys. They started like this  and what a mess they, well actually I made. Little balls of Oreo's and cream cheese.  Easy enough. And then I had all of these.  Fun, sticky, and they don't taste bad. And on Thursday, Tyler graduated from preschool.  How adorable they all were. The graduating class. They sang, they did rhymes and I decided that our little Tyler really has the makings of a TV Evangelist.  What drama he portrays and how he liked that microphone AND the applause.  To our surprise, at the end, he grabbed the microphone and performed a solo, impromptu rendition of the ABC's.  I am sure that I was not the only one that started to sweat when he grabbed it.  You never know what is going to come out of his little mouth sometimes. What a great holiday weekend so ...

Time to knit

Finished up these tags this morning. They are just tags from Staples and I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet. More of the candy canes finished up also. If you have never made these, they are so easy. I find the candy canes at yard sales. These are wrapped in my old living room curtains first and then scraps of fabric. A little bit of greenery and some stars or jingle bells, sprinkle with Diamond Dust and they are finished, A few smaller ones. I had Kendall all day and the boys in the morning. They played with the Play- Doh for quite awhile. They really enjoy that. After the boys left, I took Kendall to see her Mom at school and take part in their Halloween party. The kids all loved having her there and it was nice for me to see Shelby's room. I had not been there yet this year and she has a new classroom since last year. I painted this tree this evening. It is for Hallelujah Night at our church. The game is to knock Zaccheus out of the little openi...

What I am working on vs.

What I should be working on...pics of one, not of the other. I started this scarf last night at knitting night. This yarn has been sitting in my sewing room for over a year and after seeing all the scarves that are so popular, I thought that I would make one for myself out of this. It is not the easiest yarn to work with though. The is the second of the five checkerboards that I have started. They are actually this morning's projects to work on. Two of these that just need varnished. And about a zillion of these. They have been all over my sewing room for weeks. Shawnee and I worked on them Tuesday afternoon while Gracelyn and Kendall slept. When Gracelyn woke up, she looked in my sewing room and said "Messy" That word is usually used for herself after she eats. Surely my room does not look that bad! What I should be working on...well pics of that are not going to be posted. I should be working on cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, decorating for fall, my laundry,...

Crafting Mania and Free Range Chickens

At 4:30 yesterday morning, my day started after four hours of sleep, refer the last post and the pumpkin latte comment. I thought that a latte was just warm milk....little did I know that it had a shot of ESPRESSO (spelled right, Marilyn!) in it. I won't make that mistake again..the spelling of espresso OR drinking a latte at 9:00 at night. As a side note here, when I write MY book and go on MY book tour it will be under a pseudonym and I will be interviewed on Oprah behind the same screen that they use for the witness protection program and my voice will be garbled. I will tell me family that I am on R & R in the Caribbean and they will never know it is all about them. The following pictures are of what happened to my sewing room that I cleaned at five in the morning is preparation for craft day with Shawnee. We thought that since I keep Kendall at home one day a week now, we could have a craft afternoon while Gracelyn and Kendall napped. It partially worked although th...
