I love creating these small paintings. They have a freshness that makes them really sparkle. And they look SO MUCH better in person than on-screen. I’ve just finished a series of large commissions, and have decided to take a break and do a series of these small pieces. Just for the pure pleasure of it. MOUNTAINS, TREE by TOM BROWN

Here’s a small piece I painted in the studio from a plein air sketch I did once when we were driving through the desert. The distant mountain range had stunning snow caps and I had stopped to sketch it for later use in the studio. Here’s the result. I’m happy with this one and hope you like it too.
