Throwback Thursday: Happy Halloween!

Hello my treasured friends!

It's been a super busy week here, and there has been loads going on! I will update once I get a chance to! I just wanted to quickly post the card that I created for Emma over at My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge is to create a Halloween themed card with the card feature on any older cartridge. I attempted to create my first 'Spinner Card' with the Wild Card Cartridge, but I couldn't make it work with what I had so I had to make due. I'll know for next time! :) So here's how it came out!

Such a cutie little pumpkin!! Here's a look at the inside of the card:

Trail of Treasures:
  • Card Base - pg. 51 Pinwheel Card cut at 5.5" in Kraft coloured cardstock, distressed around the edges with black ink
  • Card Layer - cut at 5.5" and trimmed down, used Authentique Glowing 6x6 Stack, wrapped Trendy Twine Orange Licorice twine, and tied a bow
  • Pumpkin - cut from the Pumpkin Carvings Cartridge at 2.5", used the Trick and Treats Disney Mickey Accessories Die and Embossing Folder Set for the witch hat - added Purple and Gold Stickles to it, and Inssentials Enamel Accents Dimensional faux enamel in black. Face is from PK-550 Pumpkin Faces Set
  • Sentiment - from My Creative Time's Mixed Holiday Sentiment Set

Emma's 11th Stamp Edition Release is THIS Friday!! Remember to spread the word and to visit her here.

Until next time's treasures,

Where's Simba? Throwback Thursday Challenge

Hello all!

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but let me assure you, I will be power scrapping, so you'll seen tons of projects from me soon! I've been so busy lately with group projects and assignments, so most of my time is spent in group meetings or working on the group project. :( I'm just taking a quick breather to get in a little time for scrapping...I've got a complete scrapbook to complete over the next week or so! Here's the first completed page:

My boyfriend and I saw the Lion King when it came to Vancouver last year for our two year anniversary. Each year so far I've created him a scrapbook of the previous year with our most memorable moments and/or events we attended. :) This is an 8 x 8 layout and I just love the way it turned out! This is the first layout I've ever posted on my blog! Watch out for more!

So for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge, the challenge is to:
--> use either the Wild Card or Just Because cartridges, and
--> incorporate embossing

For the sun, I embossed the sentiments from My Creative Time's stamp set "This & That," which I simply adore! You can purchase it here. I used both clear and sparkly embossing powder to create the background paper for my 'sun.'  Heat embossing is definitely my favourite technique - I love the results! I finished of the sun by distressing the edges with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distressing ink.

Here's a close up photo of the sun:

Materials Used:
  • Wild Card Cartridge to cut out the circle for the sun (I then measured and trimmed it to the way I wanted it) - of course you could use any cart with a circle on it!
  • Patterned paper from Dovercraft by British Designer Kate Knight
  • Martha Stewart Embossing Powders: Crystal and Sugar Cube
  • Sentiments from My Creative Time's stamp set This & That
  • Disney stickers I found at Tuesday Morning
  • VersaMark Ink Pad
  • Gold gel-pen
  • Yellow bling
  • Heat gun
Hope you all enjoy my project for today. Hopefully my boyfriend doesn't check my blog for the next few days or so! ;)

Until next time's treasures,
Tracey xoxo

Scatter Seeds of Happiness: Happy Birthday my sweet Aunt!

    Hello everyone!

Today is my sweet Aunt's birthday! She's always there when you need a hand, or a phone call away for great advice. She's always thinking of others but this year, I really wanted her to just focus on herself and what she really wants. Whatever that may be, I just want her to be happy. So with that, I made her this card.

She has two beautiful daughters, that she loves oh so dearly. So, I cut the vase and flowers out of the Cricut Lite Bloom cartridge, and made circles big enough for my Peachy Keen Faces. Both of them are from the Simple Sallies Assortment pack, and they turned out too cute! The patterned paper is from DCWV Flower Shower Spring stack (one of my faves!), and the base of my card is from the Wild Card cart. I added Crystal Accents to the vase to make it more 'vase-like,' as well as some ribbon to add a touch. The sentiment on the inside of the card reads, "Scatter Seeds of Happiness" from the PBD Life's a Garden set.

I hope that you all attain whatever truly makes you happy.

All my best && the warmest wishes to you today and always,
    Happy Birthday my Dearest Aunt!

Sweet Treats for a Sweet Friend

    Hello Everyone!

I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend! I know that I sure had an exhausting one, but it was nonetheless fabulous :) We did quite the bit of snow here in Vancouver yesterday, but of course the rain has washed away the majority of it all by now. Hopefully the snow/ice will melt away for you all soon, wherever that may be!

So I just wanted to do a quick post for you all today. My friend celebrated her 21st birthday yesterday night, and in her culture, 21 is a huge milestone. We all had tons of fun dancing the night away at a latino restaurant. This friend of mine LOVES sweets, and she is just the sweetest thing ever. Coincidence? I think not. :) I made this card for her back in December, during my break, and she finally received it, so here it is!

     Recipe:
    •  Wild Card Cart for cake stand and cover
    • Sweet Treats Cartridge for cupcakes
    • Pink By Design Love Always
    • DCWV Shimmer Stack
    • White Gelly Roll Pen
    • Cinnamon Stickles
    • Embellishments
    • Glue Dots
    • Acetate
This is a 5 x 5 card. I cut two pieces of 'glass' out of acetate and used tons of glue dots to adhere the cupcakes to the acetate, and the acetate to my base. I didn't want to hold my two pieces of 'glass' together with glue dots so I decided to use glue...bad idea!! It would be much better to pull out the sewing machine and stitch the two together! Inside the card, I used the Pink By Design Love Always stamp set to stamp "to a sweet friend."

We all know sweet people in our lives. Don't forget to acknowledge them for it! I hope this inspires you to do something sweet for a sweet someone! ;)

    Until next time's treasures,
