Bejeweled Morning

When we go camping, rain and drizzle are not high on my wish list.

But, I have to tell you I may have to change my perspective on this,
as my husband and I crawled out of our tent to a spectacular sight.

Every possible surface was covered with drops -
resting, hanging, sparkling drops.

It was a bejeweled sight,
quite fantastic in a glittery, wonderland-type of way!

Hope your world is looking just as amazing :)
Happy creating to you.

Into the Fog

Cold nights and warm days have brought a shroud of morning fog to the lake.
This creates a minimalist fantasy land of shifting light and
unusual color harmonies.

Hope you're enjoying autumn!

Extraordinary Ordinary

This last Saturday I was out early to photograph the sunrise.
The spectacular sunrise I'd hoped for didn't materialize
(well, technically it did for all of two seconds while I was changing lenses),
so instead I looked toward finding something extraordinary within the ordinary.

What I found was marvelous dew drops among the foggy lakeside grasses.
Yes, jewel encrusted grass!
It seems the world is filled with beauty everywhere we turn.

I hope that your life is filled with wonder
and some dew covered grass, too!

Cattails

Summer is winding down and gracefully starting to fade.

I've been wading in the shallows with my camera and tripod
seeking simplicity, balance, and harmony
among the cattails.

Hope the last days of the season are treating you well!

Yearning

I'm yearning for.....

blossoms
unfolding ferns
the first loon call
walking without a winter parka
expanse of lake water - instead of ice
grass paths through the woods
spawning giant musky in the shallows
kayaking
twin fawns
dragonflies
summer sunsets
and
twilight conversations on the dock.

Into the Fog

"The seasons are what a symphony ought to be: four perfect movements in harmony with each other".  ~Arthur Rubenstein

The fog came to visit and stayed all day.
She wrapped the world in a cloak of mystery - softening colors, simplifying forms, and creating unity throughout the woods.
Her covering cloak revealed a beauty not seen everyday.
