Brand New Earrings in Gold Filled

I heart vintage glass beads and have an enormous collection that I work with often. I've been hoarding these lusciously creamy colored faceted beads for many years. Now it is time to share them with the world!

The design is simple and a bit sophisticated -- I think that comes from the use of gold filled wire for the earwires. These earrings are for sale in my etsy shop.

Freshwater Pearls and Andalusite ...

... a creamy and delicious combination!

I started with a circle that I fused from 16ga fine silver. I hammered and textured it and dangled a creamy beige coin pearl from the bottom. Emerging from the top are lengths of sterling silver rolo chain followed by a series of beads. I chose champagne colored pearls and flanked them with andalusite rondelles. Then there is more chain and a sterling lobster clasp.

About andalusite:

Andalusite varies in color from pale yellow-brown to dark green. It can also be a greenish red. The color may look different when viewed from different angles. These particular beads seem to be an orange-cream-green combination!

Champagne and Cream

I listed this necklace and earring set in my etsy shop yesterday. Truth be told, it isn't new. I realize this may be shocking to some of you, but I made this necklace about 2 years ago. I had displayed it at a show or two and when it didn't sell, I tucked it away.

You see, I liked it so much, I thought I might keep it for myself. Recently, I had a dose of reality and realized that I will never wear this necklace. I never go anywhere that I might need something quite as elegant as this. Such is my life in the north woods.

Simple Necklaces

Remember this post? How about this post? Well, I decided I like the look of a single drop so much, that I've made some necklaces along the same lines. I made a big batch of them, but so far have only listed this one in my etsy shop.

I chose one of my favorite pearls to feature in this necklace. It's big, it's got lots of luster and it bumpy! What more could I ask for?

Creative Muse

My creative muse was here for an extended visit last week and I shamelessly took advantage of her presence. I made a series of earrings that I'm exceptionally pleased with. The more difficult part was the photo shoot, but that went surprisingly well also.

If you read my previous post, you can see that the view from my work area this time of year is composed of much white -- ice and snow. This pair of earrings exemplifies what I was feeling as I gazed out that window.

You all know that I have a serious problem with collecting pearls. These are probably the most luxurious ones I've ever purchased. They measure a generous 11 mm across. The luster is spectacular and there is a hint of pink when the light hits them from a certain angle.

Sigh.
