Chicken Soup

~Susan Branch~

I have never made chicken stock from scratch.
The other day, I rolled up my sleeves and went to work.

It took some time and I put a lot of love into it.
Tom is having his left knee replaced.
So, what do you serve someone recovering?
 Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup!

(If you have lost track...Tom had his right knee replaced about three years ago.
He also had his right hip replace this past summer.)

 Mmm Mmm Good!

This is the recipe book I found for my chicken stock.
Susan's books are so much fun to read
and her recipes are delicious!
Big fan of Susan, in case you didn't know!

Checked another Fun Fall Thing off my list.

(Update: Tom had his surgery and is doing very well)

Bonfire

Last Saturday was our sister-in-laws annual
Halloween Party.

Tom and I didn't stay long but long enough to enjoy the bonfire!
Perfect weather, too!

Checking another off my Fall Fun List.

Playing Catch Up

First...

Checking things off my Fall Fun List.
(see side bar)

Before I left to see our family in Idaho,
I made an Apple Crisp.
(didn't pick the apples )
Since Tom didn't go with me, I left it for him to enjoy.

The heart shape baking pan
was a perfect way to let Tom know I was thinking of him.

Secondly...

Checking more off my Fall List.

I took Trey to the Park.
We had so much fun playing in the crunchy leaves!
It's a little blurry because it's hard to
capture him with my phone camera.

Thirdly...

I'm always on the lookout for odd or different signs.

When shopping in Idaho, we came across this car
parked in a clearly marked, WALK  area.
When we looked more closely,
you could read what someone had finger written
 on the back window.

It says,
"NOT LEGAL PARKING"

No,
 it wasn't my car!

Fall Fun List

"Summer's loss seems little, dear, on days like these."
~Ernest Dowson~

(Checking things off my Fall Fun List)

Tom and I took a Sunday Drive to the mountains to see the leaves, smell the air and enjoy each other's company.

It was beautiful out, no coat required and car windows down. We were able to take in all the smells of Autumn.
Tom bought me my first Pumpkin Spice Latte. Enjoyable!

I could end it here but my finger kept clicking away on the camera.

It was a great day!
