Aud-Eats | Terminal One Cafe at Taman Pelangi

[REVIEW]

I bet many of you have already realized that Johor Bahru is really developing in the recent years. Even Kulai is blooming. It's not hard to find a fanciful eateries or what we call it the "Insta-worthy" cafes in town and theme cafes is definitely making it's way back.

After moving to Singapore, I hardly have the time for cafe hopping. There are so many new one's that I wish to try! When I heard about Terminal One- a train themed cafe located at Pelangi area, I thought I should give it a try.

The main entrance with a train door.

Aud-Eats | Sushi Mentai at Taman Gaya

I love sushi. Luckily kareshi loves it too! It is always fun to hunt for good and cheap sushi together. One of our latest love is Sushi Mentai.

Last weekend, after running some errand at JPJ, I suddenly have cravings for sushi. The nearest sushi restaurant we can find is Sushi Mentai at Taman Gaya, so we decided to have our early lunch there.

I think Sushi Mentai's biggest selling point is cheap! Definitely affordable yet with quality.

Aud-Eats | ABC Brickworks Hawker "Must Try", Jin Jin Dessert

Recently Kareshi and I was on a dessert hunt. We loves dessert but sadly the hawker center at our place doesn't have any dessert stall. We loved the dessert from whampoa and henderson hawker but we wanted to explore more.

The other night, we decided to go Ikea for a walk (yea, just walk around and see see look look). So we googled to see what's available for diner nearby. Apparently, nearby there's an ABC hawker center with famous dessert. That's it. Time to explore new hawkers.

Kareshi said when he was young, he used to come with his dad but it's been years he has not visited this place so he wasn't sure what's nice here.

But, when we walked passed this Hokkien prawn mee stall, he said he remember this to be quite good so we decided this shall be our dinner.

Aud-Eats: Food with Passion, Passion Food @ Taman Pelangi

[REVIEW]

It's been a quite a while since I last hangout with the girls after I got married and moved to Singapore. It's nice to be together with kareshi but sometimes, it just got a little lonely without the girls. Heh! So I was really delighted to be able to join them for a food review this time round.

We were invited to Passionfood cafe to try out their new menu that will be launched in mid April. I confess, I did not know the existence of passionfood cafe despises it has already been operating for 4 years! Okay, I admit! I am not hipster, so this it is my best chance to try.

Put in a little effort to dress up so I feel good about myself again.

Passionfood is located at Taman Pelangi. It actually quite easy to spot the big fuchsia pink signboard.

It was raining but still manage to get quite some decent photos for this post with my iphone. I forgot my camera so please bear with the lower quality photos.

Aud-Eats | Creamery, The Ice Cream Boutique @ Taman Mount Austin

I am always a fan of Ice Cream. I am well aware that it causes me fat, but still I love it so much that I can overlook this scary fact. It is like you know this boy gonna hurt you, but yet you still fell for it. Can relate much?

That day my friend YeeVen told me that her cousin is opening her new Ice Cream Boutique, I was already tempted to try. After seeing the photo of the ice cream, I made up my decision that I must come and try when I come back to JB.

Before I visited the shop, I did some intro read up about the shop. Apparently, Creamery Boutique Ice Creams (JB) is an ice cream project brought into Johor Bahru, Malaysia by TheIceCreamist, all the way from Creamery Company Limited, Bangkok, under their franchise expansion. They focus on small batch premium homemade production to maintain the exceptional quality of their ice creams. It was said that all their recipes are original, exclusive and personally developed to include a unique Creamery twist.

So 2 weeks ago, I arranged to visit Creamery Ice Cream Boutique with Kareshi on Sunday. We reached here quite early, about 12pm, didn't know that it is not opened yet so have to wait for 2 hours for it to open. Uhh... but I told myself, since I am already here, might as well just wait. After 2 hours, finally it's opened!!! It better be good to worth the wait!

Aud-Eats | Be Cafe, A Place to Chill

[REVIEW]

It's been a long time since I last hang out with the Ma Cherie girls. Thanks to Eunice, we gathered again at BE Cafe @ Taman Molek.

It is a cozy place to hang out with friends. Here's how it looks like in the inside.

Aud-Eats | Amphawa Boat Noodle @ Sutera Utama

[REVIEW]

The Thais have been watermen since the earliest days in the 19th century. They commute by boats through the inland waterways and canals for all sorts of activities from daily errands to trading.

Due to the bustling life at the river bank, the people had slowly came out with a local delicacies named boat noodle. Boatmen serves the soup to people who would come eat on the banks of the canal.

Recently the boat noodle trend spikes out of no where. Now, you don't have to travel to Thailand for it. Amphawa Boat Noodle (located at Sutera Utama Johor Bahru) serves a 300 years history family recipe. Here you will find 2 different broth- Amphawa soup and Rangsit soup. Amphawa soup is the signature of the shop (hence the same name?). It is spicy and sour whereas, Rangsit soup is clear herbal broth.

Many boat noodle restaurant has only Thai rice noodle but Amphawa brings you Thai glass noodle too! Good news for those who love glass noodle right? According to Jason, Thai street food is not only Tomyam and Pandan leaf chicken. There are at least a few hundreds of local delicacies which most people are unaware of. That is why he decided to open this Amphawa Boat Noodle restaurant together with his wife and friends to bring more Thai local delicacies to the people of Johor.

Aud-Eats | Be Healthy with Emgrain Collagen Oat Drink

[REVIEW]

When I was younger, I never thought I would one day start a healthier diet. I guess when you grow older, you will realize how important it is to eat healthy.

Oat has been shown to lower blood cholesterol which may reduce the risk of (coronary) heart disease; whereby soluble fiber helps to lower blood glucose (not consuming together with other food).

Although I have been having overnight oat or adding a scoop or two of oats into my milo as breakfast but sometimes I feel it is too thick for my preference until I found this new oat collagen drink.

Aud- Eats | Grill Bar SteakHouse Taman Pelangi

It's not my first visit to Grill Bar. I've been there twice with Joey and my ex colleagues, this will be my third. You can read my first and second visits here and here for more decoration photos.

Aud- Eats | Absolute Thai KSL Mall

[REVIEW]

I am not a super fan of Thai food because I am not good with spicy food let alone the spicy sour taste Tom Yam. I have to confess that I've not tried Tom Yam. Not even once (OMG are you even Malaysian, my friend asked)! Ha! but thanks to Carinn, I gave her and absolute thai my Virgin try.

We had a really fun night that day. It was the first biggest gathering ever for the Ma Cherie Girls (except Jennifer and Eryn because the both got invitation from SuperMag to premium launch for Transformers).

Aloha! Welcome back to the food paradise! Have you read my first part of the review? If you have not, kindly head over to read it >>here<<. Now the second part is not a review. You will know why later on.

Before I bring out the cakes, I must introduce you the master behind the beautiful cakes right? I hereby present you the pastry chef- Chef Edward! He is very young right? I thought the chef has to some middle age man, lol!

The cakes are pretty but non of them are mine to touch. Yes, I am writing something I have not tried (I can't! Allergy to egg and yeast la!), hence this is really not a review but a sharing post to share you the beautiful ones I've met.

Aud- Eats | Johor Jaya Shyang Chinese Prata

I am a prata freak. It is my comfort food which I can eat all the time and won't get bored, but provided it's nice la! That's how much I like prata, that's why I'm always on the hunt.

I've heard of this special prata stall for quite sometime but because it is sorta far away from where I live (it's like 40 km?), couple with time constraint, I couldn't find a chance to try it until one lovely Sunday. Me and Kareshi had to go to JPJ for some errands so I though eh, why not we go to this prata shop for breakfast since it's consider around that area. Plus, I've been wanting to try it! So finally, here we are- Shyang Kopitiam.

Now mark the coming Friday night on your calender. Done? Don't ask why, just follow me to Harbour Café, Traders Hotel located in Puteri Harbour Johor because from now on, every Friday Harbour Café will have its scrumptious Seafood Buffet for all seafood lovers! Yes, Seafood buffet!!!

Aud- Cooks | Creamy Tuna Spaghetti

Wow! My first food recipe post! I actually started cooking when I was 8. 8!! Can you imagine a short tiny girl standing on a stool over the stove cooking for the whole family? Uhh... life was hard back then.

Now, I don't really cook for the family, mummy took her job back. Ha! She's managing her home-base nursery so basically she does all the cooking now, but from time to time when the mood strikes, I will take over the stove.

Kareshi loves spaghetti, especially creamy ones and his all time favourite Aglio- Olio. I cooked creamy tuna spaghetti for him once, it was my first trial (keep looking at recipe while cooking) but luckily it turns out good!

The other day, he was hinting me to cook for him again! I guess he really like my creamy spaghetti! lol, so I went to buy some needed ingredients and ready to stuff him up. Muahaha! Okay, ready for the recipe? Here it goes!

Aud- Eats | All that I can see is a Lemon Tree @ Taman Melodies

[REVIEW/ SAMPLE]

Despite living in Kulai for decades (working in Johor Bahru for years), but if you were to ask me what's nice to visit, where to find good food in JB, I am sorry that I will have to disappoint you because I can hardly give you much options. I mean I know some, but not too many. Plus, there are so many new ones popping up all over the places in the recent years, how can I possibly know them all, right? (actually, it's because no one dates me, lol.)

But never mind! Thanks to the courtesy of Kim, I now have another one added to my knowledge list. Before Chinese New Year, I had the chance to pay Lemon Tree at Taman Melodies a visit.

Ahem, looks delicious! I was hungry that day and really can't wait to start eating so let's take a look at the dishes served that night.

Aud- Eats | The Best Steamboat, Dian Huo Xin Wo @Kelana Jaya

Early December, I went to KL with mummy for my cousin's wedding luncheon. I hardly have my chance to visit KL so I want to make sure my KL trip turns out fruitful, and it did!

I brought mummy to Number 76 Bangsar Telawi 1 for hairdo, read it >>Here<<. Visited aunt Diong (mum's old friend) and had an awesome meal at her German restaurant, read it >>Here<<.

And of course, catch up with my lovely friends and Aunt Belinda at a very unique, die die must go Chinese restaurant- <Dian Huo Xin Wo 点火心窝> (DHXW).

<Dian Huo Xin Wo 点火心窝> is an effort of 4 buddies, one of them is my friend- Jeffrey Oh. Each of them take charge of different aspect. Jeff is an interior designer so obviously, he is in charged of the restaurant's ID and marketing.

Their say:
Dian Huo Xin Wo (点火心窝) is brought to you by four entrepreneurs; where four great minds think alike, with the passion of revamping our traditional 'Hot-pot' to a whole new level.

Review: Favourite German Restaurant, Deutsches Gasthaus

I have a sweet tooth. I love cakes and pastries and desserts, especially Tiramisu. Although I can't eat any of them anymore now due to my allergy to egg and yeast but it will never change the fact that I love them.

For so many years, I've tried uncountable Tiramisu from various pastry/ bakery shops but none, None of them came close to the very first one that I've tasted when I was 8 or so.

It is the holy Tiramisu made and served by Deutsches Gasthaus.
