Trayectoria artística
Fue en 2003 que Cryer dio el salto a la fama internacional, por su papel como Alan Harper en la comedia de "Columbia Broadcasting System" (CBS) Two and a half men, junto a Charlie Sheen (Charlie Harper) y Angus T. Jones (Jake Harper). Recibió a la fecha tres premios Emmy como actor de reparto por este papel. Cryer ya había trabajado anteriormente con Charlie Sheen en la película de 1991 Hot Shots!.
El astro de la serie Two and a Half Men Jon Cryer recibió una estrella en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood y agradeció a su viejo compañero de elenco Charlie Sheen y a los creadores del programa por intervenir durante la temporada pasada cuando atravesaban por problemas. Cryer, de 46 años, fue reconocido con la estrella número 2.449 en el célebre paseo. Entre los invitados a la ceremonia estaba el creador de Two and a Half Men Chuck Lorre y sus compañeros de elenco Ashton Kutcher y Angus T. Jones.

Cryer participó en su primera película en 1984, la comedia romántica No small affair, y era famoso por su papel como Phil "Duckie" Dale en "Pretty in Pink" antes de comenzar a trabajar en Two and a Half Men de la CBS.
