Celebrating 125 Years: Native Plant Trust

Celebrate Native Plants

From the Wild to Your Backyard

blue cohosh - Caulophyllum thalictroides - Dan Jaffe

Garden Opening Dates

Garden in the Woods reopens for the 2025 season on Saturday, April 12, to Native Plant Trust members, and on Sunday, April 13, to the public. Click here for hours, admission, and other details for visitors.

April is an enchanting time to visit Garden in the Woods, when spring ephemeral wildflowers from blue cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) to bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) are unfurling in the Curtis Woodland Garden, with early species in our celebrated trillium collection following closely behind.

And attention, gardeners: Our Garden Shop will be open and waiting for you on opening day, with hundreds of native plants for sale. (Members get first pick, on April 12.) See below to learn how to pre-order plants now.

Hurry, spring!
