Moving Day and Winners!

Good morning! Round here life is moving pretty fast. Yesterday was packing day. Above that's all my Stamp Pad storage towers getting black plastic shrink wrapped so I won't have to completely unpack everything once we get to Spokane! The black plastic may or may not be so that the driver cannot see any of my ...well...more liquid items that are not supposed to be going onto the moving truck, but who wants to move while toting a large basket of acrylic paint?

Now everything in the house is packed and ready for the movers to come take it away. I'm fairly certain that now matter how much we've talked to the boys and explained what's happening and gone over the steps, that they had no clue we were actually moving. Yesterday I spent an hour with Gabe sorting legos to make a pile of special legos that would be packed in their own box. When he came home from school and saw the box he freaked out. He could not believe that the movers boxed his special legos and that they would be going on the moving truck! Max was similarly dazed and confused when he went to choose his afternoon costume form the dress up box. Every day after school he either puts on his jammies (ninja turtle costume jammies) or spend the afternoon as whatever superhero catches his eye. I saved Robin back so he'd still have his favorite costume but he was distraught that we had no dress up box. After helping Gabe and Max through their respective eye opening loses they started clamoring for a snack. I think opening the pantry to find the cupboard bare was the final jolt needed for them to grasp that this is actually happening, lol.

In any case, I will be missing my Stamp Pad, and especially the friends who filled it something fierce. I managed to sneak up there and whip out one last card before the packers descended and made that room tidier than it's been in three years. That'll be up on the blog Sunday, but in the mean time, here's the winners for this week's giveaway of SEVEN awesome but retired CTMH stamp sets. I did manage to keep the giveaway sets out of the packing boxes so I could mail them next week while we are waiting for the moving truck to deliver.

Whatever you are doing this weekend, reach out to your friends loved ones and give them a hug. Stamp rooms can be rebuilt...but I'm always going to cherish the ladies who made my stamp room such a happy place. Thank you for an amazing dozen years, Stampin' Ladies!

Practical Scrappers Practical Storage

Today over at Practical Scrappers we are doing a feature on crafty storage. I'm focusing on my Ribbon Cube. This was originally a shoe storage cube, but I re-purposed it into ribbon storage using clear plastic jars. The quart jars hold small ribbon rolls, scraps, trims, and pre-made bows sorted by color.

Behind the jars I stack bigger/full rolls of ribbons and trims, also sorted by color. I will probably hoard that roll of CTMH black gingham ribbon for eternity...
On top of the ribbon cube I have a lazy susan from IKEA. I topped it with spice jars. These I filled with buttons sorted again by color. I'm moving all my storage over to ROYGBIV. Dontcha love that I needed an extra jar just for Rhinestone Buttons? In the middle of the jars I stack 3-D foam tape rolls, glue dots, and other special adhesives.

And for you inquiring minds, the little three drawer desktop organizer on top of the ribbon box is filled with Glitter Glitz, Stickles, and my spray pens. And lest you think my counter-top in front is always that clean...I just shoved all the projects in progress to one side so it would look tidy for the photograph. I am truly an organized disaster. You're welcome.

My New Card Tree!

Here's a little sneak peek of my new "stamp pad" before the upcoming Open House: my new card tree! I've had this idea floating in my head for a long time, but never had a space to make it before! I bought a big vinyl tree (found mine at Target) and added the quote (from ebay). Then I velcro dotted black clips all over the tree to hold my current card projects in a cute, easily photographed and changeable display! I'm so making a Christmas tree one for holiday cards in my entryway come Christmas time too!

I've got a plan to glitter up some adorable acrylix butterflies I found at Joann's...and possibly the clips as well! But first I gotta finish prepping the cool hands-on projects for Open House weekend! I am also testing out adding the Cricut Art Philosophy 3-D flowers to some of the branches - can you see my lone tester flower down in the lower left branches? See y'all on the 27th!

I'm linking this post to a fab new blog I found called Running With Glitter - don't you love it already? I mean, the name alone - so many fun ideas!
