These were posted on YouTube late in 2021. This is St. Elsewhere week on the Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour, March 26-30, 1984. This short-lived game show featured a half-hour of Match Game followed by a half-hour of Hollywood Squares.

Howie Mandel, Nancy Stafford, Kim Miyori, Norman Lloyd, Terence Knox, Ellen Bry, and Eric Laneuville are the celebs of the week. That's the season two cast, before the grim reaper(s) came for a few of them.

There's an old post on here with links to the original home of the excellent comprehensive retrospective of St. Elsewhere that was lovingly researched and crafted by the late journalist Edward Copeland (the freelancing pen name of Scott Schuldt) in 2012. I contributed to the article with research and video clips.

R.I.P. Norman Lloyd, St. Elsewhere's Dr. Daniel Auschlander

The St. Elsewhere Experience is pleased to honour the memory and life of Hollywood legend Norman Lloyd, who played Chief of Services Dr. Daniel Auschlander on all six seasons of St. Elsewhere, and who passed away at the tender age of 106 years on May 11, 2021.

Personally, I will miss wishing him birthday greetings every November 8th. Quite impressive for the actor whose elderly character passed away from a stroke in the series finale 33 years ago, having survived the longest cancer remission in TV history.

Norman Lloyd, St. Elsewhere's Dr. Daniel Auschlander, celebrated his 106th birthday last week, and the St. Elsewhere Experience regrets being a week late in celebrating the amazing longevity of Hollywood's greatest living legend, the man who played a Nazi Hitchcock villain during World War II. Lloyd was born on November 8, 1914.

(One thing I might do is re-make the Mrs. Hufnagel video series. I also like to do updates if I hear anything about the show in the news.)

It's a great treat to spot all the musical references in St. Elsewhere, and I even enjoy the old practice of using sound-alikes of popular songs. Whoever did that guitar solo in the original version of "Sweet Dreams" did a great job doing Jimmy Page's guitar solo from "Heartbreaker".

The St. Elsewhere Experience extends birthday greetings to legendary actor, producer, and director Norman Lloyd, who turns 105 on November 8, 2019. Lloyd played Dr. Daniel Auschlander on St. Elsewhere for six seasons.
