Creepy, Mad-Style John Carter
I'd forgotten all about this until someone linked to it on Facebook today. It's a MAD-style spoof of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars, written by Woody and drawn wonderfully by his sometime compatriot Ralph Reese. In fact, this whole 1977 issue, a Martian special, is amongst the better ones from CREEPY's middle-period and also spotlights other Woodworkers Al Sirois and Nick Cuti as well as the great Gray Morrow, Berni Wrightson and Bruce Jones. Good stuff!

Possible Wood Art??
The faces and poses look very much lie Wood art to me and he did have Minnesota ties. But this is from 1951 and the illustration looks almost too polished for Wood at that point. Opinions?
