On the way back to Metro Manila from Sagada, we made a two-hour stopover in Baguio City. I would have welcomed the sights and smell of the pine trees in Baguio if every muscle in my body, including those I did not know existed, was not howling in agony. Hours of traveling, spelunking and trekking would do that to a rickety bag of bones. Yet, the mere thought of going to Baguio public market to buy pasalubong perked me up long enough to ask the driver to park really close to Veniz Hotel. As soon as he did, Virg and I bolted out of the van and raced, or hobbled, to the market, my memory was hazy at this point.
Inside Peter’s Pasalubong Shop (Stall #1037), we (or at least I did) excitedly pointed at the things we wanted to accompany us back to Quezon City. I had my eyes on Mika’San Sweetshop’s Choc’o Flakes since they were all I could think about in Sagada, in terms of food. So I had three of them, and I was a happy camper.

Here are some pasalubong from Baguio City:
Products from Baguio City and neighboring areas occupy the floor-to-ceiling shelves in this stall. Among them are Romana’s Peanut Brittle (my favorite, but I did not buy them because I received some as gift ☺) and Chili Garlic Sauce.
Baguio City Pasalubong: snowball, alfajor, peanut brittle, lengua de gato, choco flakes, and strawberry jam
A bottle of pure honey from Baguio City, P150.00 (US $3.00). This is now 70% full. I have used it with tea and kalamansi juice.
Fruit wines: guyabano wine, bugnay wine, and strawberry wine, 3 for P100.00 (US $2.00). I have tasted the bugnay wine, and I do not have a lot of experience drinking wine or eating bugnay, but it was not weird.
Rico’s Lengua de Gato, P90.00 (US $1.80). It was originally P100 (US $2.00). After Romana’s Peanut Brittle, this is my absolute favorite from Baguio City. So light and oh-so delicious!
Tri Kids Food Product’s Baguio Special Strawberry Jam, P60.00 (US $1.20). Like the peanut brittle, this bottle remains untouched.
Mika’San Sweetshop’s Choc’o Flakes, chocolate, which I ate like there was no tomorrow. It tasted different; the corn flakes were not as good as before and the chocolate was not as smooth, but I love chocolate, so I would say okay na.
Mika’San Sweetshop’s Choc’o Flakes, milk, which for some reason I liked better than its chocolate counterpart. Both chocolate and milk variety declined in terms of quality, but they were still acceptable.
A kilo of chorizo cost P150.00 (US $3.00). I cooked some of them last weekend but did not like the lack of spice or garlic. It was supposed to be garlicky. I forgot to take a photo of them. 🙁

Hello! I do not sell these products. These products are sold in the public market of Baguio City. When you enter the public market from the entrance across Venizia Hotel, there are pasalubong stalls there. I bought them from one of the biggest stalls. The owner and the sellers were nice and they allowed me to bargain.
