Pumpkin Friends

Happy Thursday, peeps! I am off to a late start today! It's hot and sticky and pretty miserable here in SE PA, so I felt I needed a fall card to help me cool off! My sweet friend Renita sent me a beautiful birthday card and when I asked her about the background paper, she said it was a NAPKIN!

I have heard of the napkin technique, but never tried it! And don't you know, she sent me a whole supply of GORGEOUS napkins with which to play!!  Thanks, Renita!  So I looked up the technique on line (I used Lou Collins' method) but it looked as if there were lots of tutorials out there!  So here we go:

Can you believe that's a napkin?  I used a piece of scrap cardstock and brushed on ModPodge, then adhered the napkin.  Lou gives some tips on her video, so I recommend watching it first.  But honestly, it took five minutes to create the page.  You do need to let it dry, so I waited until this morning to make my card.   The sentiment, stamped on some Wood Grain Wonders DSP, is from the retired Pretty Pumpkins set.  I added some diecut leaves and swirls from the two-toned Peaceful Pines cardstock, and a few sequins for fun:

My card base is Timid Tiger; I stamped birthday sentiments from Cutest Crew in Timid Tiger and Early Espresso:

And since it is a birthday card, I am entering it at the Krafty Chicks birthday challenge!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

KC831 Watermelon Greetings

Happy Friday, everyone!  The Krafty Chicks Anything Goes challenge has a mood board this week:

I had a stamping class on Wednesday at the retirement community where Dana works, and one of the cards we made fit the watermelon on the mood board perfectly!  Check out mine:

I used a scallop die to cut a panel from the retired Country Gingham DSP.  The watermelon slice was cut using the Everyday Arches dies, using Strawberry Slush, Basic White and Garden Green cardstocks.  I used three hearts from various Paper Pumpkin kits to create the "seeds":

The sentiment is from The Greetery's Laid Back Basics.  I had a couple extra kits left over, so I made another card; I used a different sentiment and I hand-drew the seeds:

We did add a few little sequins for sparkle!

Here are a few more birthday cards!  From Mollie:

and from Sally:

This pretty one is from Tracy: love those colors:

And this beauty if from Renita:

Thanks for stopping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP791 CAS From Jan Here Comes the Sun

Happy Sunday, all!  Jan is our Paper Players hostess this week, and it's CLEAN and SIMPLE week!  Remember to keep your card elements to a minimum!

What a fun challenge theme!  I recently got some rub-ons from 49 and Market and had not had a chance to use them--perfect timing!  I admit they were a little fiddly to adhere but other than the fact that I had NOT planned to put my big sentiment at an angle, I made them work!  Here we go:

I first embossed a piece of Thick Basic White with the Stitched With Whimsy die, then chose my rub-ons.  I had laid the top one down on the paper, then ran to take something out of the oven and by the time I got back, it had begun to adhere to the paper----so, at an angle it went!  I put the bunnies at an angle too, then added the sun, the sentiment and the yellow splotch:

As I said, they took a little effort to get them to adhere, but I found out that using the tip of my piercing tool to run with helped get the finer details in place!  I left the inside blank, as this could be used for any number of occasions!  The rub-ons made for a very quick card and I think it's CAS enough!  I am also going to enter this over at the Krafty Chicks, where they're also looking for CAS!

I hope you'll play with our CAS challenge at the Paper Players this week!  Check out what the design team did with this---you may be surprised at the "weather" they chose!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Stenciled Merry & Bright

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend.  We may finally see some nicer temps and sunshine!  I have a Christmas card today that fulfills two challenges;  the Krafty Chicks want Christmas, and Just Us Girls, where they want flowers:

I recently got a new stencil and die from Spellbinders called Christmas Florals.  This was my first attempt at using it, so it's not perfect but I can see lots of possibilities with it!  Here we go:

I pretty much followed the picture on the package, LOL...next time I might use some other colors!  After diecutting it, I mounted it on a brick-embossed backbround piece and added the Strawberry Slush sentiment, which also comes with the set:

A sentiment from the retired Peaceful Season went on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Just a Little Note for CASC&S583

Happy Thursday, all!  You know I like things in threes and when I saw the Clean & Simple Colours & Sketches challenge this week, I was quite happy:

I did a class recently at my neighborhood retirement center and had some leftover pieces from that project, so I used them for my project:

The butterflies were diecut with some Shimmer Pool Party cardstock, then layered on a butterfly-embossed piece of Basic White.  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps' Whittle Sayings, using an Impression Obsession Small Tags die.

Here is the original project; I just used two of the single butterflies and trimmed one from the trio for the above card:

I am also entering this at Krafty Chicks, where they're looking for Clean and Simple too!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.  He is like a tree growing newar a stream and sending out roots to the water.  It is not afraid when hot weather comes, because its leaves stay green; it has no worries when there is no rain; it keeps on bearing fruit."  Jeremiah 17:7-8

CASC&S579 Spring Blessings

Happy Friday, peeps! I have an uber-quick card today for the challenge over at CAS Colour & Sketches:

I've been having lots of fun revisiting stamps that have been in my stash for a while, and only got minimal use!  Today's Altenew set has probably only been used once or twice, so I dusted it off and went to work:

I stamped the Dot Botanicals in Pistacho Pudding and Soft Succulent inks, then added a sentiment from W+9 in Garden Green and added a few sequins.  I haven't used Very Vanilla much lately, so it was nice to use that for a change!

A simple sentiment from PTI's Wreath for All Seasons went on the inside! I need to bulk up my birthday cards, so this will be perfect for those spring birthdays!

And since the Krafty Chicks challenge this week is CAS, I am going to pop it in over there as well!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI366 Peppermint Wishes

Happy Friday, all!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and we have a theme:

Yummy!  Look at all those goodies! I got a sweet little peppermint candy die just after Christmas, so this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to put it to use:

My candies are made with Basic White, Real Red, Strawberry Slush and Granny Apple Green.  The peppermint sentiment is from More Than Autumn, and the diecut sentiments are from the Words for the Season dies.  All went on a gingham background from Scrapbook.com, diecut with the Perennial Postage die.  I added a Stitched With Whimsy doodle around the edges as well as some Peppermint candy embellishments!

I added a Colorado Craft sentiment on the inside:

In the stamping world, it's never too early to start making Christmas cards!  And since the Krafty Chicks are asking for Christmas cards this week, I am entering it there as well!

What will inspire you from this fun challenge?! Hope to see your sweet confection over at the As You See It blog!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

KC799 Peace on Earth

Happy Friday, all! Yay, the weekend is upon us! I have a real quick card this morning, it used items that I had already laying on my desk, and so it came together in a jiffy!  The challenge at Krafty Chicks is CAS, so I am entering it there!

So here we go:

The snowflake background was diecut with the Waffleflower Dashed Snowflake Panel; the deer is from Papertrey, and the snowflake was a freebie from Waffleflower as well!  I used the Tiny Words Christmas for the front sentiment as well as the inside, and I also stamped a Christmas sentiment from Best Year along with it:

FMS715 Celebrating You

Happy Thursday, all...on the slide to the weekend, yippee!  I have lots of birthdays in December and my card supply is running low,  so the FMS sketch came in handy for a quick card using some patriotic colors!  Here's the sketch:

I pulled out some Honey Bee papers called Americana, did some diecutting, punching and stamping, and here we go:

Sentiments are from the retired Perennial Birthday, and it was mounted on a Crumb Cake base:

And since the Krafty Chicks have a birthday challenge, I am adding this to theirs as well!

Happy Little Jar of Joy

Happy Friday, all! Hope you have some fun weekend plans! We plan to go out on the boat tomorrow with some family!

I have a cute little card today using the new set called Jar of Joy along with its matching punch! I was experimenting with a fun bookbinding fold I recently saw (I believe it was on the Inque Spot's blog), and so had a card already made but had never finished.  I used some retired Parakeet Party papers for the base, but needed a focal point.  I was looking at the images in the Jar of Joy set and thought how cute that little snowman would look in some non-traditional Christmas colors! So here we go:

I stamped the snowman in Versafine Black and his hat & scarf in Strawberry Slush.  I added some Balmy Blue snowflakes and some Wink of Stella for snow!  The jar was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and the lid was also created using Strawberry Slush, shaded with a blender pen:

It went on a Every Day Arches diecut, using the Toadstool Gardens DSP.  I stamped a sentiment from Tractor & Co, then another Jar of Joy sentiment on the inside:

There are more cute little images to put inside the jar, so I know I'll be using this again!  I am going to enter this at the Krafty Chicks challenge, where "Anything Goes"!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
