Well now that birthday season is over for us we have time to breathe again. For those that don't know what birthday season is, it is from March 23rd to May 25th, all 5 girls in this family have their birthdays. Our last post had the beginning of birthday season. Well lets list what has happened since our last post in order.

Faith's field trip
Faith's birthday
Faith's baptism
Laurel's strings concert
Mother's Day
Isaac's field trip
Laurel's field trip
Laurel's fifth grade concert
Marcie's birthday
Girls scout camp
Isaac's Kindergarten graduation
Emma's birthday
Laurel's birthday (sleep over)
We have had a lot of fun, but time to breathe? There is none.
Shall we start at the beginning.

First Faith's field trip. We went up to a place called Sabino Canyon. One of the few places were there is running water most of the year. You can imagine that it is where all the wildlife would go including Faith's class. I went with her for the day and we we had a nice time.

Then came Faith's birthday. She had a party at the park with a bunch of friends, even the old one with the camera. Marcie is getting great at making the cakes.

Then came what I looked forward to most this year and that was Faith's baptism. What a great event. Mom, Dad and Marcie's mom all came down.

Then came Laurel's Strings Concert. There are a few strings programs in the area and they get together at the high school auditorium and have a concert. It was amazing.

Then there was mother's day. This was the only picture Marcie would let me post.

Then Isaac had a field trip to the zoo and I got to go with him. The high light was feeding the giraffe. I went on this with Faith 2 years ago, I got to feed the giraffes then, but I got denied this time.

Then Laurel had another concert. This time it was the elementary school concert. The strings and choir did good and Laurel did great on her solo. Funny that this concert was on Marcie's birthday and Laurel's solo was the happy birthday song. She even got to call up Marcie to the front to play for her.

see if you can find Laurel

Then Laurl, Faith and Marcie went off to girl scout camp. There were all sorts of crafts and fun. But they were tired. Faith was awful quiet in the tub and then we found out why. She was fast a sleep in the tub. Marcie had to stay in there until she was done to keep her awake.

Then we went to Isaac's kindergarten graduation. I think it was more of an excuse, to get the kids up on stage for a performance, than anything. But any how, Isaac had a blast.

Then was Emma's birthday. Another of Marcie's cool cakes. Emma is quite the ornery bugger, but we love her tons anyway.

Finally Laurel had a sleep over with some friends, it was a flower garden party. I mostly hid out in my room. A bunch of preteens can get scary. Marcie kept them under conrol and they seemed to have a good time.

Quite the full couple of months. Now we are headed into the summer and things seem that they will slow down a little and I do mean a little.

birthday easter and such fun

March 23rd Clara turned one. Marcie made her a fun cake

And Clara had fun destroying that cake. She tried to wear more than she ate.

Then we had Easter. The kids had a lot of fun with the egg hunt. Laurel had a lot of fun this year helping Mom and Dad with everything. The Easter bunny did a really good job at hiding the eggs.

Clara decided that she did not need to find all the eggs first.

Now for Marcie's master pieces. Here are the beautiful dresses and handsome vest and tie she made.

Wow I think in picture they look great. They can all be a hand full. I will keep them though. The thing that I like most about today was a short lesson that Marcie did for dessert. She took some cresent dough and butter some cinnamon sugar and wrap that around a marshmallow. then after you cook the marshmallow melts out and leaves the inside hollow. This is called the empty tomb. The kids liked it not just for the dessert but also because they got to make it.
The next couple months is our birthday season. we just had Clara's and she starts the season then by the end of May all the girls' birthdays will be done. The biggest birthday though is Faith. She is turning eight and that means her baptism is almost here. She is very excited.

We have sure neglected this. I would think that the few that might check this probably think we were never going to write again. Well the last month has been eventful. Lets start with a fun trip to Houston. We went to see Mike and Dawnette get sealed to their Conner and then be there for the blessing. Conner sure is a cute chunk. I think it is all muscles though. We also had a lot of fun at an aquarium.

There was a ferris wheel at the aquarium and Faith did not like how high it went.

Houston was also very humid and hot. The heat is no big deal but the humidity hit us everytime we went outside. So to fix that we spent a lot of time at different community water parks.

Laurel found the diving board and finally worked up the courage to dive in instead of just jumping feet first.

We also went to an Astros baseball game. Isaac was ecstatic to go to a baseball game because he just finished a T-ball season. The Astros won. Even Marcie found the game fun.

At the end of the game they rolled back the roof and had a fireworks show.

So we came home and have put our pool to good use most of the summer. It can get a bit cold if the wind picks up though. Here with the low humidity the water evaporates so fast that it will chill you to the bone.

Clara has been the easiest around here to get to smile but then again she sure causes as many smiles as she gives.

How can you look at that and not smile. But Clara's great accomplishment is she is a roller now. She can roll over from her belly to her back and is close to going from her back to her belly. Plus she goos and growls all the time.

Well tomorrow the kids are off to school. It will be Isaac's first day of school. He is excited to go to kindergarten. His teacher will be the same teacher that Faith had. She is a good teacher.

Well that is all the good that is happening, now the bad. What does the combination of Marcie and I sleeping in + scissors + Faith and Isaac equal= A teddy bear with shorter fur and

THIS

Yeah Marcie and I woke up and when we came out Marcie took one look at Emma and got this sick look on her face, burst into tears and said "look" while pointing to Emma. It scared me to death. I started looking up and down Emma thinking that there must be blood or something. Then she said look at her hair and then I saw it. on the left side of her head her hair was cut off just above her ear. Well the fear of an fiercely angry mom quickly brought the truth of the matter out that Isaac gave the teddy bear a hair cut then Faith decided to give Emma a hair cut. I thnk though that Faith quickly realized the error of her ways because Emma's hair had only a couple cuts taken out of it but with that the damage had been done. So we performed an emergency hair cut this morning and went off to church. I sure hope that today is not a sign as to how this school year will be.
