A Guest Post On Katherine's Corner

Hello, dear friends!
I am so thrilled that dear Katherine of Katherine's Corner has graciously invited me to be a guest on her beautiful blog. Today, I am sharing a tutorial for decoupaging a tissue paper graphic and
how to make a French script tag at her place. Please stop by and check out my post HERE. While you are there, do say hi to Katherine for me and check out her inspiring projects, mouth-watering recipes, or simply join her weekly favorite things blog hop. She loves making new friends, and I know she will love hearing from you.

Have a beautiful day!

Fields of Lavender

 I love lavender and I had  planted a cluster of them in my perennial border few years ago. A relatively easy plant to grow, it never fails to enthrall me with its beauty every summer. There are many ways to enjoy their beauty all year long.

Imagine walking through a field of purple lavender during the peak of lavender season. The vivid lavender blues and the air filled with heady scent of the glorious lavender will have you entranced!

I  bought these petite clay pots (buy one get one free - 89cent each:
Gave them a white-wash look by dry-brushing some cream acrylic paint:
Decoupaged some Frenchy label from the The Graphics Fairy

It looked too white for my taste, so after sealing the pots, both inside and outside with couple coats of water-based sealer I applied an antiquing medium and removed most of it with a damp cloth... I repeated this process couple times until I was happy with the "look" I was after. After that I applied another coat of the sealer to prevent the antiquing medium from washing off.

Now these pots are ready for my beautiful lavenders and
 rosemary!
 I decoupaged some leftover burlap from my Patriotic Tablescape project, all around the top of the pots.

 The luscious beauty of lavenders has me humming this   nineteenth century ditty:
 Lavender's green, dilly, dilly, Lavender's blue,
If you love me, dilly, dilly, I will love you.
 Let the birds sing, dilly, dilly, And the lambs play;
We shall be safe, dilly, dilly, out of harm's way.
 I love to dance, dilly, dilly, I love to sing;
When I am queen, dilly, dilly, You'll be my king.

Who told me so, dilly, dilly, Who told me so?
I told myself, dilly, dilly, I told me so.

 The Apple blossoms from my Spring Tea Party have turned into little green apples and fill up my wire rooster basket:
 Isn't is so much fun decorating with mother nature's rich bounty?
Color and inspiration everywhere around you:
I love using glazed potteries for my summer annuals:

Well, the butter in the butter dish started melting in the afternoon sun for my French inspired tablescape( I had to remove it for my photo shoot..lol!)

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me. Your visits always brighten up my day and I love reading each and every one of your sweet comments.
 Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Independence Day!
