Anything Goes - Weeks #768-769

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday, everyone. We're so very glad you're here to play along with us again. We have another AWESOME challenge ready for you today with a brief devotional to encourage and bless you, some lovely inspiration, a Top 3, another lucky winner, and a groovy new sponsor. Let's jump right in and get to all the FUN, shall we?

The Bible verse used to create this lovely piece of word art is Isaiah 26:3 which says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusted in thee". We've heard this message many times before in different ways. We're being reminded once again that when we keep our hearts, our minds, our thoughts and our ways fixed on God (Jesus) and what He wants for us, we will live "in perfect peace". Far too many people (even Christians) doubt this powerful truth, and thus, don't get the joy of experiencing it. The things we don't have or don't experience in our lives, or in our walk with God, are only because of OUR LACK OF FAITH and lack of TRUST. God can do ANYTHING, and He can do ALL THINGS. However, we must first BELIEVE it and TRUST in it. Learning to keep our "mind stayed on Him" requires us to have a very personal relationship with God. TALK with Him every day, all day. Just talk to Him as the friend He wants to be to you, me, us. God wants you to draw SO close to Him, and He wants to give you that "perfect peace". If your life is stressful and a bit chaotic, stop and give it all to God. He tells us to "cast all our anxiety on Him" because He truly cares about us. If you're looking for perfect peace, God WILL GIVE IT. But first, we have to ASK and then we have to TRUST/believe it will happen. Today is a great day to talk with God, give your worries to Him, and to start enjoying the perfect peace He wishes for you. It's yours for the taking, my friends. Claim God's promises and make the most of what He's offering you in this life. Stay fixed on God and His plans for you. He will always give you the strength, wisdom and peace you seek. Always.

Anything Goes - Weeks #766-767

Welcome by, everyone. Thank you for being here at Word Art Wednesday as we begin another FUN art challenge. The wonderful cards you've all been creating this Summer have blown us away. We really do consider ALL of you winners in our book. Your art and creativity inspire us so much, and we're grateful beyond words to have you play along and share with us. If there was a way that I could send a prize to every entry, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Please know that I do pray for you all (I really and truly do). That's a gift, too. And I'm happy and blessed to do it because I'm grateful for you all and the amazing art you share with us here. We couldn't have a challenge blog without YOU. God loves you, and we're super grateful for you as well.

Our scripture for this challenge is Mark 11:22 and it reads, "So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God". In this situation, Jesus was speaking to His disciples following an incident where a fig tree had withered (it's quite a good story here in Mark if you'd like to read it). Jesus was reminding His disciples about the importance of having a true, deep and unwavering FAITH in God. In the surrounding verses, Jesus reminds them that having this kind of FAITH and TRUST in God the Creator is vital. When we learn to completely trust God, we will experience life in a new way. Knowing that God is always in complete control allows us to focus on other things. It reduces our stress and helps us become all God wants for us. In fact, our faith in God can lead to miraculous outcomes. YES! MIRACLES! God can do ANYTHING He wills to do. The main reason why we don't see the big miracles is because we lack that level of faith. Jesus uses the illustration of a mountain being moved. If the mountain is in your way, and it's God will for that mountain to be moved out of your way, don't you doubt for one second that HE CAN MOVE IT. God wants to do BIG things in your life (and in mine), but first, we have to allow our faith to grow. The next time you're facing a trial (whether it's a huge life-changing issue or even if it's a smaller issue), I encourage you to PRAY about it. Praying is the way we can communicate with God. Prayer needs to be an automatic go-to tool in our lives. No matter what you're facing, big or small, go to God in prayer. Lay your burdens at His holy feet and then have that kind of FAITH that truly knows and trusts that God WILL answer our prayers. He doesn't always answer it in the way we wanted, but He will always answer us according to what His will for us is (because He alone ultimately knows what's best). And quite honestly, we wouldn't really want to just have our way all the time and not live within His perfect will for our lives. FAITH is what will see us through until, one day, we are with Him for all eternity. How exciting and reassuring to know. Have FAITH, friends.

Anything Goes - #764-765

Welcome back for another FUN challenge with us here at Word Art Wednesday. We're super glad you've chosen to stop by and join us. We have a brief devotional, some great inspiration, another great sponsor and lots of fun waiting for everyone. This challenge blog would be nothing without YOU, the wonderful artists who share your creations with us. If we don't get by each entry to comment, please know that we are truly grateful for you. Let's get right to this awesome new challenge.

Our word art is taken from the Bible verse Proverbs 16:32 which says, "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city". This is fairly straight-forward in its meaning. We're being reminded that the man (person) who controls their feelings of anger is stronger than a physically mighty man. It takes a lot more character and inner strength to remain calm; knowing that God is always in complete control. The "mighty man" might pop you in the nose to solve a problem. The person of God has an inner peace, a strength and self-control. The verse goes on to say that the person who rules (controls) his spirit is better than the person who "takes a city". Let's say like a certain tyrant we now know as Muhammad who forced his made-up "religion" on people through brute force (and it's still happening today). God's Word reminds us here, and in so many verses, that true strength and inner peace come only through a right relationship with God. His Word also assures that only He is capable of offering this complete peace in our lives. By submitting all of our being to God, we are given the strength, peace and ability to remain calm in times of turmoil, and to handle the situation with grace and clarity. God will give us a "peace that passes all understanding" when we submit to Him. Life can be difficult, but God (Jesus Christ) is the answer to all the struggles this world has to offer. God is bigger than it ALL, and He's got YOU.

Anything Goes - Weeks #762-763

Are you all staying cool and beating the heat this Summer? Temperatures have been climbing here in the Nevada desert, and the air conditioning is running 24/7 at our house. I praise God for air conditioning. Yes, I sure do. Sometimes my mind wonders how people ever survived without it; especially here in Las Vegas. What a blessing to know that I don't have to think about for very long. Thank you, Jesus, for all the wonderful things you give us every day. And how EXCITING to know that God is preparing things for me (for all who call on Him) that "no eye has ever seen, and no ear has ever heard". That's awesome.

Our Bible verse of focus for this challenge is Psalm 71:8 which says, "Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day". You and I both know that when we stub our toe, miss an exit, forget a deadline, or have "one of those days" that it's easy to do or say something naughty. If I'm being completely honest, I've said a bad word or two in my lifetime. That's not cool. It's SO important to always remember that we are representing a holy and righteous God. Our words, actions and heart should always be fixed on Him and on the things that bring honor and glory to His holy name. Over the years as I've matured, I've learned that I truly want to be more like Him. I want to honor Him with all that I do and say. For this reason, I've learned to allow the Holy Spirit to guide me and to control my tongue. It really does matter what comes out of our mouths. As Christians, it's of the utmost importance that ALL our words are good, pure and help to point our lost world to Him. Let's all try our very best today, this week, and moving forward in general to really think about the words we say. Ask God to help you control your tongue (always) and to give you words that will honor Him and give Him glory all the time. He's done SO much for us. This is something we can do for Him.💕
