Fly

Flight ticket: Checked
Picture taken when I was back for a short weekend.
This time around, it's a one way ticket! Which means i'll be in Penang for good till I decide further. Woohoo so happy and excited! Don't get me wrong, i'm not suffering here. I just know that it's gonna feel damn good being HOME again. Plus, that's when my holidays officially start. To make things better, this is the cheapest flight I've booked this year.

Now now, 3 more weeks till I bid goodbye to my college life.

#1 Weakness

I think i'm a step further in the quest of understanding myself now. I believe I have finally discovered my number one weakness, at least for now. I used to think it was the soft spot I had inside of me. Not like there isn't any now but today, I feel my greatest weakness is that I can't stop worrying.

I worry for the slightest of things you can imagine. People around me would know and often would they tell me not to worry. I have to admit that sometimes I worry unneccessarily especially when things turn out better than I expect. Sad to say, that's not always the case. Hence, I continue to worry.

People always say things like 'Don't worry, everything's gonna be okay'. Well, truth is, that's just to please the ears. Because who are they to tell me it's going to be okay. How would they know? Then, there are others who would say things like 'Since there isn't anything you can do about it, why worry?' Hmm, I don't know myself. Really, why worry?

It's not like I haven't tried not worrying. Countless of times I've tried convincing myself that things will turn out fine or that things are beyond my control so there is no point worrying. I never seem to succeed. Hence, I continue to worry.

And trust me, this isn't a pleasant feeling. I feel so tortured on the inside each time I worry. Knowing there isn't anything that can be done makes it even worse. Sigh.

Reunited

Greetings people! Here's a combined post from two different dates, two different places but with the same company I've had for more than 10 years now.

Tadaaa. Miss Navenia Nishel!
So this was a couple of weeks ago when we decided to hang in Midvalley. We didn't want to watch anything (also cause there weren't anything interesting) so that we had more time catching up. From being able to talk every single day, between lessons, during recess, in tuition and etc to just few hours after weeks of not updating (more like gossiping) each other.

Had lunch at Tony Romas
The manager offered us complimentary dessert in exchange for an entry about our meal in our respective blogs. Of course, we agreed to it! Anyway, Nana had Fish & Chips while I had Romas burger. It was quite nice but what I enjoyed most would be the dessert! Two thumbs up for it. No, not because it was FOC but because it tasted really awesome.

Our complimentary Birthday Lava and I

Basically, we just walked around the mall all day. Stopped for some refreshments, tried on some clothes, snap more photos. Oh ya, another thing to note. We spotted Tan Boon Heong.

Oh I just remembered and have to say it here. While on my way to Midvalley by train, I met some stupid (probably illiterate) guys who went on the women's coach. Like hello? It's called women's coach for a reason. That aside, I sure did have a good time catching up with my bff!

Okay, so this time around, we decided to go Sunway Pyramid. Well, the initial plan was to get tickets to the Amusement Park in Sunway Lagoon. Unfortunately, all the packages included the water park and we didn't have any extra clothes. Then came Plan B: Charlie St. Cloud.

Nana chose Japanese cuisine so Sushi King here we come!

There you go, hottest girl in KTT :P
After hours of walking around, we got tired and wanted some dessert. Decided to go Snowy something in Asian Avenue. That's when it started pouring so we were kinda lucky we didn't go Sunway Lagoon. Minghan came later to join us for the movie and dinner.

Honeydew Sago is love!

Watermelon sago which tasted better cause it was sweeter.

Btw, I tried archery for the first time in my life. And yes, I sucked.

Ahem, LOOKING pro.

Soon, it was movie time! My personal rating for Charlie St. Cloud would be 6.5/10. And like Nana said, they should have chosen someone else to play the female lead. To better complement Zac Efron's looks! After the movie, we had dinner at Bubba Gump.

Nana and her food.
BBQ Chicken and I

And that's two awesome girls! :P
Day well spent. More to come, hopefully!

Ulcers and I, we've got issues!

I am so prone to ulcers. And having four of them simultaneously isn't cool. They should just learn to stay out of my life! Nana would certainly recommend me to put salt on it. But that's just gonna hurt like hell. Plus, I didn't bring salt to KL with me! Fine, maybe that was an excuse. I'm sure I have access to salt here as well.

On a happier note, trials are OVERRRRR! Time to enjoy my one month temporary freedom. Then come finals. This is seriously happening too fast. Still remember having difficulties deciding which Pre-U course to take and which coll to go to.

In case you didn't know, this is how a Graphics Calculator look like.
And it does wonders your Casio can't do.

Day 1 of torture
Spec Maths; Couple of blanks, some irrelevant answers cause i couldn't bare the emptiness of the page, and a careless mistake -2-(-4) = 8! WHAT WAS I THINKING!
Day 2; My heavy pile of Econs notes and I

Not really sure how I did. Didn't have time to look back at anything I wrote. Was racing with time for the whole 3 hours to finish the paper. No picture from Day 3 of torture for Maths. But it was way tougher than what I expected. Just hope I don't do too bad!

Okie lazy to type d but in short, day 4 was equally bad!
And this picture is good enough to sum up the entire trial exam for me!
Hmm, I'm actually quite excited for this thing to end. But it's pretty scary at the same time. Cause now that i'm approaching the finishing line, comes the following question.
What's next?

Bangkok 09'

I was just reading the older entries the other day and it felt good. Reminded me of lots I have forgotten. Things that happened barely a year ago. So I'm sure these entries would bring back priceless memories if I were to read it some time down the line. Hence, this super overdue post but hey, better late than never right?

Short trip to Bangkok last December

Of course, like any other tourist, the first thing was to check in the hotel. We stayed in Pathumwan Princess, which is directly connected to MBK (a shopping mall I was very excited to go to before the trip!).

Somewhere near the reception
The view from the elevator

Nothing much to say about the hotel. It was quite nice and very convenient. The pool area looked really nice too. But I can't seem to find any picture of it.

Anyway, time to move on to what Bangkok has to offer. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have trouble elaborating cause I can barely recall anything. Okaaay, so I remember visiting the Wat Arun which is also known as Temple of Dawn (I googled that).

Crossing the river to go to Wat Arun.

And there you have it, Wat Arun spotted.

Just like any other tourist attraction, I'm sure Wat Arun has an interesting story behind it. I did read up that time but but...I don't know anything now! All I remember is that you can climb up all the way to the top, which I obviously didn't. I did rent a Thai costume though. If you look closely at the photo below, you would have noticed that thing on my head was so heavy it was gonna fall off of anytime.

Wat Arun and I

Next destination: Wat Pho

If I remember correctly, this is just across the river from Wat Arun. Hence, the boat ride earlier. Oh wait, that means I visited this place first. Lol, excuse the sequence.

At the entrance of Wat Pho

Oh ya, this temple offers authentic Thai massage too. And they have a giant reclining Buddha in the temple. Okay this is making sense. According to the ever reliable google, Wat Pho=Temple of the Reclining Buddha.

Part of the temple where people drop coins for luck (I think).

Next destination: The Grand Palace

At the entrance, there will be this dress check to ensure that everyone who enters are dressed appropriately. Apparently, I wasn't and had to change into a huge shirt they offered. Despite the trouble, this place is amazing!

This place is left me in awe. It was really nice. Everything was so precisely built. And it's HUGE. Seriously. We didn't manage to visit the entire place cause we had other plans. I think if you dedicate one day for this place then you'll get to see and read everything about it.

Another part of the palace.

This picture definitely did not do justice to that wall. The gold part looks way better than this.

Next destination: Siam Paragon

I suppose this is Bangkok's most famous shopping complex

Oh ya, we went somewhere near Christmas. Hence the decorations.

We also visited places like Bangkok's China Town (Yaowarat) and a few other malls. Not forgetting, the food was great! For people who fancy Thai food like me, this is definitely a food heaven.
Pleasant trip and a pleasant way to end 2009.
