Wario is a recurring character from the Mario Bros. franchise.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Originally an end boss for Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Wario started out as the fairly conventional 'evil twin' palette swap character Mario himself. So where Mario is a textbook goody-two-shoes, Wario is fat, lazy, and - above all else - comically greedy. Mario might save the Mushroom Kingdom for the sake of saving the Mushroom Kingdom. Wario never really plans to save anyone at all, but but ends up doing it anyway while he robs the next-best sucker blind.
How or why Wario ended up getting his own Wario Land and Wario Warez series (while also being a mandatory character in any vaguely sports-related Mario spin-off title) is an interesting conundrum in its own right. On the one hand, getting to play as the bad guy that couldn't give less of a damn about rules and societal etiquette has a cathartic effect on people stuck in a hyper-conformist background. On the other hand, Nintendo really just likes coin as much as he does.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 1[edit | edit source]
Wario likely debuted in 8chanmania IV, where he was quickly thrown out of the preliminaries by Kirby.
For 8chanmania X, Wario teamed up with Princess Daisy. The poor chemistry between was painfully apparent when they immediately were booted by Mario and Luigi.
He notably teamed up with Waluigi to fight in 8chanmania XX. The cackling couple defeated Risky Boots and the Love Monster, threw a gear into the spanners of Dr Robotnik and Metal Sonic, and showcased how to be a true gangster by eliminating Masahiro Chono and Ryuji Goda. Their trickery was only tackled by Clown and Chen.
Season 2[edit | edit source]
Wario's first recorded appearance was in 8chanmania LV. He helpfully reminded Segata Sanshiro why Sega isn't producing consoles anymore, but all of his garlic breath did not suffice to beat the onion armor of Siegmeyer.
Another attempt was made during 8chanmania LIX, but proved to be spectacular failure after Wario tried and failed to steal the mystic gemstone from Roy & Alma.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Attracted by the generous prize money promised by Banzai Inc., Wario attended 8chanmania LXXXII, and offered a promising first match when he made Meowth tap out. Unfortunately, he did not manage to get his ass back into the ring before a ringout disqualified him in the following match against Fargus.
He also was one of the eight potential investors for BANZAI Inc. that participated in the all-out pre-show match prior to 8chanmania LXXXIII. His enormous backside was the third in line to be kicked out.
