YouTube for Android TV is now bringing the account switcher to the application’s initial startup to help ensure the right person is logged in.

Following the announcement last week, the video player, icon, and app-wide redesign is now widely rolling out to YouTube for Android and iOS.

For better or worse, short-form video is here to stay, and YouTube is continuing to build out its TikTok rival. This time, however, the update isn’t designed to keep you interacting with shorts for longer — it’s to get you off the platform without wasting too much of your time.

As of Wednesday afternoon (PT), most users cannot watch YouTube videos, with various playback errors popping up.

YouTube has just announced that its new Premium Lite subscription is expanding to India, and it’s also been made available in a few other regions too.

Besides announcing a new AI Labs program, YouTube is making official the latest Premium features for subscribers today, like faster playback speeds. Most were first previewed at the start of this year.
