We look forward to your contributions!
🌐 How does Decidim actually work behind the scenes?

Time to dive into the Technical Office (TO) draft text of the internal regulations, the team responsible for the day-to-day running of the Association. What is this text about?

The document focuses on how the TO should work analysing:

-Who does the day-to-day work
-How decisions are implemented operationally
-How the team is organised and coordinated

🔥 Hot topics in the discussion

-How many members should the Executive Directorate have? And which are its responsibilities? What should it be accountable for?

Your input will help shape how we collaborate, participate, and take responsibility as a community.

💬 Read the draft, share your thoughts in the debate space, and join the conversation.

Last chance to shape the future governance of Decidim!

The Decidim Association is closing the deliberation phase of its Internal Regulations process on May 10 and this is a key moment for the community to contribute.

💬 What’s on the table?

Several core areas are open for feedback, discussion, and direct edits:

🔹 Conflict Resolution & Sanctions
How do we handle disagreements in a fair, transparent, and trusted way?

🔹 Rights & Duties of Members
What should participation look like and should the influence of companies be limited in decision-making?

🔹 Technological Governance
Who shapes the platform’s evolution? How do we balance funding realities with community?

🔹 Coordination Committee
How is leadership elected, and what responsibilities should it hold?

🔹 Technical Office
Who runs the day-to-day—and how should accountability and structure be defined?

🛠 How to participate:

Review the draft texts
Join the debates
Suggest concrete edits directly

📅 A final community session on Technological Governance will take place on May 7, incorporating all feedback before closing the discussion phase.

We are closing an important phase in the definition of Decidim’s #TechnologicalGovernance.

On May 7, we will hold the final community meeting to present the latest iteration of the internal regulation article, bringing together all the feedback and contributions gathered throughout the process.

This session will serve as a final validation space: an opportunity to review the near-final text, share last inputs, and collectively close the discussion.

Over the past weeks, the community has engaged in key questions such as:
• How public procurement frameworks shape technological development
• The influence of major funders on governance decisions
• How to balance community participation with real-world constraints like funding and timelines

After this meeting, the drafting committee will integrate the final feedback and the consolidated version for review, with the aim of approval at the General Assembly in June.

→ Shape the challenge definition — not just respond to it
→ Have the potential for further EU-level support or development

🚨Applications close June 5.

Candidates are assessed on their experience in civic tech within the EU. Accepted participants will be invited to a preparatory webinar before the event.
