bugs.telegram.org is a site to bring your issues and suggestion to the Telegram team.

They are hiding “report a problem” & “suggest a feature” buttons. Users won’t see them until they’ve scrolled to the bottom of a search results page. To many results? Scroll all of through them or make a more specific search request. This forces a user to make at least accidental research before reporting or making a suggestion! Neat!

ps. I’ve reported my first two telegram bugs: 1 & 2 🎉
pps. Found out that uploading a file from “Photo Library” fails while the same file from “Choose files” succeeds.
iPadOS can still be a pain even with some ordinary tasks.

The only way to remove link preview from the previous post was to use macOS Desktop Client. iOS & iPadOS client failed even suggest deletion option. A sea of little things makes mobile platforms a somewhat problematic place for creation process.

One keyboard & one touchpad to rule them all

Triple monitor? More like triple computer & a KVM switch

Mac (center) hosts a synergy-core server and connected to iPad (right) through macOS Ventura's built-in "link keyboard & mouse to" feature.
Lenovo (left) runs a Wayland minded fork of synergy - waynergy

It's possible to use iPad as a second screen for the mac. This setup is just for show because:
- iPad as a second screen for the mac bugged out & froze almost every time
- Keyboard mapping is broken, so Lenovo gets some strange keyboard input
- Mouse cursor centers on mac when the focus moves to Lenovo.

The advent of Desktop Linux: Has the moment finally arrived? It's coming, and it's coming fast. As we examine Linux Gaming, a crucial aspect of the desktop experience, it becomes evident that compatibility and performance of Linux systems have undergone substantial improvement in recent times. The successful launch of a highly anticipated AAA title, Cyberpunk 2077, on Linux platforms with day-one playability and controller support, despite some performance issues and additional bugs, serves as a testament to this progress.

Today, February 8th, 2023, marks an even more exciting milestone for Linux gamers. The much-anticipated game, Hogwarts: Legacy, has not only been made available on Linux prior to its official release but has also received public endorsement from WB Games, as Steam Deck Verified. Please note Steam Deck is below minimal PC requirements. This level of support from a major publisher highlights the commitment to the Linux gaming community and serves as a testament to its growing popularity and acceptance in the industry.

It is worth noting that WB Games has a history of supporting Linux, as demonstrated by their 2015 release, Mad Max, which received a native Linux port a year after its initial launch. The fact that a highly anticipated title such as Hogwarts: Legacy has received day-one support on Linux reinforces its place in the gaming world. It is an electrifying time to be a Linux gamer 🥳

PS. For some regions, it was still February 7th, 2023. Time zones can cause confusion even in writing.

I miss my keyboard and trackball combo😭 The future holds such a fascinating world of phones with multi-boot capabilities and seamless convergence. The Pinephone Pro is already capable of these feats, but it is not quite ready to be used as a daily driver phone just yet.

ps. Kali Linux runs of an SD card as a secondary OS.

For a time-lapse video, I prefer to use original audio at its original speed. This way, there is no direct correlation between the video and audio, but you can still get a taste of the source. However, this time is different.

In this video, you can see a view from the window of the Meruorah hotel on Labuan Bajo island. Unfortunately, there isn't much to please your ears there. There is a construction site nearby, and the boats passing by are determined to convince you that they are, in fact, helicopters.

Fortunately, I have a small collection of nature sounds in my Voice Memos. So please enjoy the sound of waves at Lake Imandra.

“Wakefulness essentially is low-level brain damage.”
— Matt Walker

It's common knowledge that sleep is necessary, even beneficial. We all heard "sleep on it". What do we really know about sleep? A human being needs something like 8 hours. Coffee is bad. Bright screens are bad. Perhaps there are a few more facts about sleep that could be considered part of common knowledge. Even with all of this, we neglect sleep too often. One more task, one more episode, one more game, one more minute scrolling a feed. Many of us regularly steal our own sleep time.

I was getting better at taking care of my sleep, but it wasn't easy. All I had was discipline and a belief that sleep is good. Meanwhile, a temptation to prolong the current day is always so alluring.

It's immensely easier to care for your sleep when you're armed with knowledge. I've stumbled onto a Ted Talk by Matt Walker - Sleep is your superpower. It was a perfect place to start. Fascinated by what I've learned, I craved more! This genius of a man has a website with a self-explanatory name - sleepdiplomat.com. There you can find:

- plethora of interviews and presentations
- book “Why we sleep”
- ongoing podcast dedicated entirely to sleep with 40+ episodes

Discovering the works of Matt Walker on sleep has been my best finding for the last year. In addition to being actually helpful, they are unexpectedly entertaining. I almost feel obligated to share it.

Good luck & happy sleeping 👋

🚀 #HotKeys Discovery

Just stumbled upon some nifty keyboard shortcuts in tools that I've used for years. Going to share similar findings under #HotKeys tag.

✈️ Telegram Desktop

- Ctrl + Left Click on a chat or channel. It pops open in a separate window for easy multitasking.

👩‍💻 Alacritty Terminal Emulator (Discover more):

- Ctrl+Shift+Space toggles Vi mode, ushering in smooth hjkl navigation. In this mode:
- v: Kickstarts selection
- y: Yanks your selection to the clipboard

Shoutout to 👩‍💻rch Wiki for the tech-tip btw! 🎉

They both know what an HTML tag is. Out of the box 🤯
There are 2 tag motions:

- at for a tag block - includes the tag and its content
- it for inner tag block - just the content

For example, dit deletes content of a tag.

While the basic tag motions are useful, one would need plugins for more advanced operations like jumping to a tag pair (%) or changing tags without altering content.
It is still shocking to me that at and it are available even in a minimal vim install!

Fake Fullscreen

Pics are self-explanatory. It may be nice to get the "fullscreen" behavior like hiding the browser's interface without the window taking up the whole screen.

qutebrowser supports fake fullscreen anywhere it runs. Just set content.fullscreen.window to true.

For Linux users there might be Window Manager support. For example, hyprland has a fakefullscreen dispatcher.

PS. foolscreen, hehehehe

OLED with smaller bezels (on the right) suits both switch & deck.

Hogwarts Legacy does the same. I’m impressed by how comparable switch and deck gameplay experiences are. Switch port squeezes every last bit of performance out of this portable and outdated hardware.
